  1. What is T-I-M-E ?
  2. Have you ever seen the movie "The Game", with Michael Douglas? I think Lost is something very similar to that.
  3. I remember going on a camping trip, in the woods, in winter. We had to climb up a mountain, in the snow with backpacks, to the camp site which was barely a clearing in the side of the mountain. Then we had to dig a hole in the snow about 3-4 feet deep to put up our tents. And then another hole for the fire. In the morning we had to light a fire onto which I cooked bacon & eggs. To head back down we just slid on our butts. Lots of fun.
  4. They could take the exact same plot, story and character descriptions as in Aliens, replace the creatures with Mexican drug lords/dictator and stick the JA name on the think and BOOM! Another He-Who-Shalt-Not-Be-Nameth-film.

How come we didn't have a debate like this over Taladega nights or Norbit? It's the same story!
  6. Good episode. A refreshing new character in Romo Lampkin. I didn't think we needed one until he showed up. There is some stagnation on BSG and he puts things back on track. Bit of a filler episode though but still a lead into the 2 part season finale. Can't wait for sunday.
  7. Yes good episode. Again. It is a real shame that this is the last season. A crime even. I suppose we can expect a fight between Pullo and Vorenus on the battle field now. Or maybe they will decide the fate of this battle in which Marc Anthony loses against Agrippa(according to history).
  8. Gotta agree with sand here. As long as they're not generally harming anyone with their business, it doesn't bother me how they choose to define 'environmentally low impact/perfect'. It falls in the realm of 'everyone's a hypocrite' to me. They're trying, at least, I guess? I also agree with Sand. Hyppies are definitaly biodegradable. They are also biodegraded.
  9. Hillary Clinton : Wants to vote laws to block gaming. She's a woman Barak Obama : He's black John Edwards : Who? Rudy Guliani : Ordered the demolition of the WTC and started the war in doing so( ) Mitt Romney : His name is too wierd. John McCain : Looks too much like Cheney Third Party/Other :

grilled cheese sandwiches IS comfort food... so maybe Gromnir used the image of the sandwich purposefully to further bend your mind to our will... soften you up with the fond memories related to eating grilled cheese sandwiches as a kid. conspiracy. btw, Gromnir thinks that azas biggest mistake is mistaking the director/producer desire to make 300 a tad more pc, with pro-bush propaganda. should be obvious how far the two is apart... but maybe not. the villains in 300, the comic, is all dark-skinned or crippled. no doubt the producers were aware of how such a thing could irritate a % of viewers. so make leonidas nicer to the hunchback, and add a white bad-guy, and makes xerxes a decadent ruler who gots mutants and monsters in his army as 'posed to simply being a tall black man. is kinda funny. the folks who make 300 add in some minor pc alterations, and now they somehow gots a small % o' people who thinks such changes makes the movie a pro-bush vehicle.... when they were probaly genuinely worried that people would come away seeing bush as xerxes. a zero-sum gain. made film easier to swallow for minorities and handicap, but now you got the anti-bush lobby riled up. no-win. HA! Good Fun! Not to mention all the GAY references! I mean WOW!

When I think about it, there are many more comparisons to be made between Bush and Xerxes than Bush and Leonidas. Simply set the story in Iraq for example. Meh. I like grilled sandwiches. HA! Good sandwich!
  12. Ok so... who's the "coolest"(think "Han Solo factor")?
  13. 300 Typical Hollywood action film with added historical epicness and very well directed. Also one of the greatest visual feasts I've ever experienced. 9/10

Perhaps it is because I am unfamiliar with the works of Miller, which prohibits me from comparing these with the film and allows me to first and foremost analyse 300 as a piece of cinematography rather than a comic book adaptation. But I really enjoyed this movie. A political statement? Aside from being a war movie in a time of war I really can't make comparisons to the present world situation. At its core it is the same Hollywood recipe, used for a hundred years to promote American values. Every single Hollywood film ever made(with very few exceptions) use the same very basic premise: An individual or small group of individuals facing unfavorable odds against an oppressor. In drama, comedy, action, horror, sci-fi, the recipe is always the same. 300 is no different.
  15. I said Kaneda because he's the only one I know out of the lot. I like anime but in moderation only. And I prefer anime movies to TV series. Sorry.
  16. I'm 32 but if I'm ever going to walk on halloween again it will be in that Starscream costume.
  17. Oh wow yeah! The "Catwoman" of medieval fantasy!
  18. Conan The Barbarian was, indeed, awesome. Conan The Destroyer on the other hand... w
  19. Heh Hmm. No Hades or Volourn?
  20. I just have to, sorry: KotOR 3?
  21. The Running Man. Last time I saw this film I think it was in the '80s. I had fond memories of a time when Arnie films were just too awesome. But this is just sooo bad. I mean talk about useless Hollywood garbage. The scenarios I used to create in my head for playing with action figures were way better than this piece of crap. Did Arnold make any good films besides T1, T2 and Predator?
  22. I wonder which half he took. The one with the 50" Plasma Tv or the one with the washer & dryer?
  23. Tenacious D: In the Pick of Destiny I laughed at the lyrics and the entire mushroom scene. The rest was very entertaining. But it's not really "great moviemaking". Just fun. Toasted.
  24. I didn't mention any names so please don't put words in my mouth.
  25. I frequently visit 4-5 different EB Games. About 3 out of 5 times I go there is a man, in his forties, always unshaven, slightly fat and wearing a Habs cap arguing with a clerk, who's trying to serve clients, about how the Spyro the Dragon franchise is much better than God of War and GTA combined. These guys(because they are not the one and the same nor are they me) stand over the cash counter just yakkin' away, arguing loudly about how they are right and universe is wrong. Now I'm not saying you are one of these guys, just that if the clerk is rude with you when you start a conversation like the one you described, maybe he/she has his reasons... Not professional for sure but certainly human.
