Artistically? I'm not saying they're not ambitious people, all their titles are in some way (for their honor) but I was being very specific

tl;dr (yet) but that weaker Vampire game (uhh, Redemption?) was released with similar editor year or so before NWN1 edit: For me MotB was best title released in long years. Absolutely brilliant stuff all around, above all writing wise (best since KotOR 2 and Bloodlines). My problem with Bioware is that they seem to lack any sort of artistic ambition edit: Lately I've become very intrigued about S.T.A.L.K.E.R, I've been watching videos and it looks like absolutely awesome title atmosphere wise. So that may earn the title for best game of last years

Oh you got to be ****ing kiddin' me. ME's story best ever? Ever heard of, uhh, Planescape Torment, Fallout, Ultimas, System Shocks, Sam&Max, Grim Fandango etc. etc? As far as plot goes yes there has been considerable development from days of original Doom to days of Crysis when it comes to story

Well, that's not much of opinion question. Overall stories in games have become much better than in early years but amount of "top" stories per year is by far lesser as such great franchises like Ultimas are dead. Et cetera et cetera I'd say the average quality is better nowadays but masterpieces are far fewer, thus Dark Raven in my opinion is partly right

Fallout 1 has better story and atmosphere Fallout 2 is funner game however

lol no, Baldur's Gate has horrible character models Backgrounds are damn pretty though (but ocasionally frustrating source of pixel hunt)

Even though I normally distance myself from fanboy legions I can't help but agree with them on F3 By all means it looks like certain disaster

Gothics combat system sucks and is stupidly difficult so that wasn't good example You can only blame yourself if you go instead of roleplaying your character in dialogues to trying to get metagaming "score points" or whatever. And really, your party members are rather easy to read. If you want to manipulate them it isn't terribly hard

So far that is best thing I've seen of F3

I guess we get some coastal cities to fight for (realistic enough). And I'm sure ppl at CA have thought Africa would be perfect choice for expansion pack You could make point for loss of East Asia but that's yet another potential expansion pack territory edit: Yeah, the much feared finnish cavalry men (whose horses weren't much though ). I didn't know they actually had english name as I've seen "hakkapeliitta" used for them in english language

...I find it a bit scary I actually agree with Kaftan - getting to play as Sweden is awesome. Though blood will be spilled if I don't get hakkapeliitat as mercenary units or as trainable cavalry
