I've been drifting in philosophical crisis over free will vs. determinism whole day (and part of yesterday too) which ain't exactly fun. Thus apart from brainstorming I haven't done anything worthwile. Gahh, I've read more philosophical and scientific studies today than in whole month before. I hate when this happens. Anyway it looks like my old existential views on matter prevails. Still, it's good to question and rip your worldview apart from time to time. That's one of the things I consider all humans should do. Not enjoyable at all, but still... And that's enough for rambling I think.

Lucas who directed THX, American Grafitti and original Star Wars was different person than the one who directed prequel trilogy. Young Lucas was angry, inspired young man who knew how to direct (check out American Grafitti for proof. Insta-pwning for those that think he could never do it). He had what's propably most important part for young artist. He had his angst so to speak. Really, just checking out some rare interviews from that era etc. shows completely different Lucas from one we know from today. Lucas of 70's would've gone with "Ep III nearly art film with minor special effects" route GL so proudly declared. George Lucas of old had no problem whatsoever making Solo vicious scoundrel who unfairly "shot first", blowing planet up with millions of people, have Princess Leia tortured, showing brutal corpses of Luke's uncle and auntie etc. Today's "happy old dude" would never do something like that.

KotoR 3: Ideas, Suggestions, Discussion, Part 24
Xard replied to SteveThaiBinh's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
RTwP = real-time with pause. Style found fron NWN's, Kotors and Infinity engine games. Often viewed as horrible bastard child of two styles (for good reasons, actually) but in kotor that's the way to go. And I'm not one of those who think RTwP is automatically inferior to TB (unlike many "tr00" roleplayers) though that tends to be the case. -

No, that's exactly the problem. They don't evoke lightsaber combat feeling at all. JA's combat system is superb and great fun, but I want RPG combat to be somewhat elegant and such that resembles the movies. -

Yeah, Bioware's worst dumb****ing with the setting was inserting "personal shields" and "I can stand against anything lol" vibroblades. Explanaion was very weak for latter, first one didn't even have one. Somehow all the damn weapons in whole frickin' galaxy are covered with cortosis so they can stand up against foes with lightsabers. Encountering sith and jedi in combat is indeed so likely. And what kind of dumb**** would even try melee in that situation when there's option of running away? Geez. Not to mention cortosis is extremely rare. Makes. No. ****ing. Sense. -
What's your opinion on In The Rainbows? Just asking since Radiohead is one of the few modern bands I really happen to like

/facepalm So, uhh, anyway; Sand, I think that's pretty much similar to being attention whore

me feel dumb now

Gah, I'm dead tired after floorball and basketball (well, not so much for latter as it was two boys vs. two girls so... *cough* We still nearly lost *cough*) and have ton of work to do I've been pushing out of my mind. I think I should try to do something similar what I once did with essay; started normally, ascended into trippy madness and ended with Prince of Bel-Air. That was glorious edit: I was back at secondary school, but still.

biojack? Why I never...! I just have rapid tendencies when it comes to anime and topics like this I'm not fan of eighties either (anime or otherwise) but that was damn great. The sword is apparently Stormbringer btw. I so wish Gainax would remake and publish HD version of that so I just could figure out all the references (noted Aslan this time, heh) but considering all the serious copyright infringements in that clip that's very unlikely  Also: lolwut

BG&...E? I guess I'm still slugging through Fallout 2

No gasping "omg teh thing roxord? Fe' shame. Anyway, any movie recommendations?

ELO - Twilight Eighties...too...addictive....

Here I was wondering why I didn't break TA's combo back at the right thread. And I guess I like mature.

My respect for GAINAX just rose a inch. Bloody hell that's awesome. Considering they were nothing but bunch of amateurs and that was their second work quality of that clip is astoundishing. Hideaki Anno, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, Takami Akai and Shinji Higuchi gave some serious geeky loving back at the 80's! Have fun spotting superheroes, Gundams, Star Wars characters, xenomorphs, Klingon ships etc. (also, "oh lawds is dat sum 1st appereance of Gainax bounce at 1:56 lawl") If you don't count ****ing flowers that's most amazing animated music video, ever. And Twilight is damn catchy tune! My newest Anime Recommendation: Daicon IV Opening 5/5 movie gentlemen, 5/5

Don't bother with Sand guys, he is what he is. I also find this rationality speech being quite funny, considering Sand's long stand that God is malicious bastard but who is quite real. Lulz

KotoR 3: Ideas, Suggestions, Discussion, Part 24

To be honest RTwP is IMO only good way to go with lightsaber combat (as crazy as it sounds). TB with action points & all lightsaber combat would be just so... wrong. One might argue RL lightsaber combat is only way to go. However only SW game with real time combat that resembled lightsaber fighting at all is Episode III license game and overall the system sucked horribly. Although MP was somewhat fun. Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy had good combat system, but it didn't represent elegant lightsaber fights of the movies at all. Well, mabe the bouncing Yoda thing but not otherwise... I think close camera angle is essential for cinematic star warsy experience. Though I did have that feeling every once in a while, yeah. -

I agree here. But not on camera, one and only saving grace of Kotor combat (which makes it somewhat enthralling ) are superb combat animations. I love watching lightsaber dueling in Kotors. Top down view wouldn't fit. -
It is. But I absolutely want physical copy of it, with gamebox & all :/ I tried to order it about two or so months ago from biggest finnish gaming site. Their stock was empty. Ultimately they contacted whatever place that manufactures the copies. Non left. Nice.

I doubt it. After "otherkin" and such I find it pretty hard not to believe in stupidity of men. Quick lurks at forums where most of those come from shows similar overall...umm, I dunno, dumb****ery mood?

Yeah, that's what I was talking about. I remember in here (maybe year or something ago) talk on this subject and I got the picture it was currently "ok" to get the game. Too bad EA covered the license  Another news on unsuccesful hunt for games: It looks like there's no way to acquire physical copy of VtM: Bloodlines. *sigh*
