  1. I have a Nexus 7 tablet and both an iPhone 5 (for work) and a Nexus 4 (for play) with the awfully awesome wireless charger. Also, not really mine but my wife has an Asus Transformer Infinity with the little keyboard dock that pretty much makes it a nifty little netbook and a Samsung Galaxy S3 after switching from an iPhone 4 after a dispute with Apple customer service, though she not so secretly covets my iPhone 5.
  2. Mildly disappointing day. After going over my upcoming trip with the wife and her family it looks like Helsinki is out and Saint Petersburg is in, which also means jumping through hoops to get a visa. Also looking into maybe getting an ultrabook or something for the trip as the laptop I use for work kinda sucks and my wife's laptop is a huge 17 inch beast of a gaming laptop that is a pain to lug around. Other than that doing some minor prep for going back to school in the fall but I have almost no interest in it at this point and I feel like I'm just checking something off of a list rather than my degree being a real goal or achievement
  3. I dunno, we had some "mercs" from Uganda providing base security to free up our provisional rifle platoon and these guys were no joke. They weren't as disciplined as we were but they were infinitely more effective than the troops in that Mali video and I definitely would not want to go up against them
  4. I'm a little sad we won't hit the stronghold goal but at least the Divinity KS just added it as a stretch goal
  5. Just passed 4 million on KS alone with 4 and a half hours to go
  6. Joe Dever's Lone Wolf gamebooks reborn as a mobile e-book/RPG hybrid I loved those books as a kid
  7. Thinking the same. Not sure how my wife will like turn based but I'll see how it goes
  8. Been looking forward to this one for a while
  9. Congrats!
  10. Hmpf, too bad I just moved out of Helsinki. When are you coming by? Me, I'm recovering from the spectacular weekend (sad how rare they are these days), trying to get some sensible work done before I go do the non-speaking tv lawyer part, ie. go frown at a cop while he questions my client. With my attaché case on my lap. The trip is from July 21st to August 6th but I'm not 100% on when we'll be in Helsinki yet. I want to go overnight or maybe 2 nights and my wife just wants to do a day trip Well Tallinn has a lot of Danish influence, so you're basically killing two birds with one stone .. I've heard that Tallinn means "The Danish City" in the original language of the area. But if you ever swing by Copenhagen be sure to say, I'd be happy to give you some pointers on what not to miss. Thanks! I'm mostly interested because my dad's side of the family is originally from Denmark (we're a bunch of Jensens)
  11. They cancelled my moonbase.
  12. Tallinn isn't really the first thing that springs to mind when planning a trip to Europe... That sounds like me and Los Angeles. I've been transiting through the airport several times, but would love to stop and spend a week there some day My wife is from Estonia so we are going to go spend about 2 and half weeks there and hopefully a couple other places. If it was up to my wife we would be going to France ...or Oregon. I'm just happy getting out of the house Edit: I'd also really like to go to Denmark
  13. Booked a trip to Tallinn for me and the missus. Was hoping to do a day or two layover in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, or Helsinki but we found some flights that were pretty much straight through (on the cheap) so we went with that instead but we'll still probably do a day trip to Helsinki since it's not far. I'm pretty excited as I've never really been to Europe, I've flown through several times but never seen anything other than half a dozen airports.
  14. Currently starting my second playthrough now that all the DLC is out Also, came across this
  15. It's sounds weird when you humanize a large company. snip The first thing that came to mind was this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPk4NTp-Lmk I'll play the 10th doctor and say that I much prefer the Dragon Age series (or at least DA:O) over the Witcher series. Looking forward to both games though.
  16. So far I'm liking the skill tree approach to leveling up and the greater variety of enemies and powers
  17. Thinking of trying the Fallen Enchantress expansion pack beta but Stardock is telling me I have to register my key on Steam.... trying to decide if it's worth it. Will probably just wait til it comes out proper and hope it's not Steam only. Le sigh Edit: I blame EA Edit2: Looks like final version will also require Steam
  18. From http://blog.patrickrothfuss.com/2013/03/concerning-games-torment-and-a-sense-of-play/ later....
  19. Yes, it was for me at least. I used the active duty tuition assistance program a couple of times and it was great and now I'm about to go do my gi bill thing, unless that gets cut in the near future too
  20. I think it's a little misleading equating what servicemembers (used to) get and what is available to illegal aliens... according to that site anyway. Getting in state tuition rates and having your classes completely paid for aren't nearly the same thing besides the fact that one is state level and the other is federal Also, the DoD did recommend that each service cut its TA program to save money
  21. Here is the recording http://www.twitch.tv/gamespot/b/377701080
  22. http://www.twitch.tv/gamespot Shadowrun Q&A going on
  23. It is most likely, he is after all quite a corpulent gentleman.
  24. I thought that the different branches are defunding these programs themselves. I could be wrong but I figured they were reallocating the money to make up for the cuts because the Navy is still "considering it's options" from the few articles that I've read. Either way it sucks
