  1. Age of Conan (by Funcom) had one of the best armour-designs I've ever seen in a fantasy-rpg. Exotic, but not cheesy. Pretty down to earth. Sure, this is not your typical High Fantasy-stuff, but it's awesome nonetheless. PoE always had an high middle ages and renaissance-flair to it.
  2. So, judging by the looks of it, the Abbey was built around the giant's skeleton. Fascinating. That means the bone structure is also part of the interior.
  3. Bring on the sequel allready! I want more of the stuff. Take all my money!
  4. I'll try to install the game on a SSD and measure again. Hopefully, the loading time will decrease.
  5. I did something very deutsch and sat down next to my PC with a stopwatch and measured the time between some area-transitions. Loading screen before character creation: 35 sec Loading screen while entering a small building: Between 10 and 12 sec Loading screen while entering dungeon: 15 sec Loading sceen during area transition: Between 20 and 30 sec
  6. Guten Tag, so, I complained a lot about my long loading screens (up to 25 seconds, got worse with White March pt. I), but read on this board, that many players didn't experience the same. I want to know, If I'm in the minority and what PC builds are used by those who have short loading screens. This still bugs me, because it sucks out all the fun of playing this game.
  7. Thx, AndreaColombo for translation. I was in Budapest this weekend for a city-trip and it was pleasure to be in your wonderful city. Just sayin'.
  8. Love this thread! Last time I visited BG II, I wanted to play a heavy armoured battle-mage. Guess how that turned out.
  9. There have to be some parts of Eothas still lying around the White March ...
  10. At the end of it, they said next week Josh will be streaming some TWM pt. II (not necessarily on Friday) Ah damn ... and there goes all my excitement!
  11. That's crazy! I'm not saying I don't think it can be true; but it needs polish! As for the priests, I guess this means that, in Engwithan times, before the gods were created, when people believed in false gods, they could have had priests who were devoted to those non-existent gods and still get power like present priests can! Does that mean that, basically, all priests are deluded people with super powers? xD So, there are souls, magic and reincarnation before the Engwithians made their gods the known pantheon. So, there has to be a divine power somehow in Eora.
  12. I'd like to excuse my unappropriated bashing of American citizens. That was uncalled for. I stand by my point, that I don't like piratey settings in fantasy, but I guess, that's only my entitled view. Hope, we all get along, enjoy the game and the sequel.
  13. What is this talk about pirate-stuff all the time. God dammit, keep that **** out of my Oldschool-fantasy! That **** is so lame and out of genre. If I want to play a pirate game with ship-fights, I would play Sid Meiers Pirates! or Monkey Island or a game of that kind. What is it with Americans and their fetish for piracy in classic fantasy. Oh yeah, right ...
  14. I remember there was some talk back then about PoE not having "as many cool magic items" as Baldurs Gate (and especially Baldurs Gate II). And while this is maybe true in terms of talking swords and flail of ages, I was surprised by the sheer amount of magic, special and unique items in this games. If we'd compare PoE to the first Baldurs Gate, the latter one would pale in comparison. And damn, there is some nice stuff to discover. I truely think, the devs outdid themselves in termes of names, lore and design, as far as the engine allowed. As the style-thread demonstrates, I'm not the only one thinking PoE-Items look amazing. So, what are your favourite item? I dug the Ravenwing-Flail from the Brackenbury-Sanitarium early on, 16 - 23 Damage, DR Reduction: 3 DR bypass Damaging 3: x1.45 Damage Coordinating: x1.25 Damage and +4 Accuracy when attacking same enemy as an ally. It looked like something out of a Batman-movie.
  15. Great news that we're near the 700.000 sold units per Steam alone. This game is going strong and we might see another push due to TWM Part II.
  16. All in all, great News! I'm happy to hear everything is thriving. Can't wait for my next go on the game when White March Part II is released!
  17. So, we got numbers after all: http://www.gamewatcher.com/news/2015-23-10-500k-units-of-pillars-of-eternity-have-now-been-sold Well then, good for them!
