  1. well, the game is full of random bugs, the more I read the less I want to play the game right now and the more I regret buying the game RIGHT NOW. If I waited like 3 months, and the majority of the bugs are fixed the game is really awesome to play. But instead of being €45 euro it might be half the price. And I am stuck with the feeling of wanting to play really badly, but can't/shouldn't right now as it will ruin my 'first playthrough' experience. I really hope 1.0.3 fixes a huge pile of bugs and that they work Some minor bugs like being stuck I could care less about, just load previous save. But the ones that you can't revert like permanent stat increase or these kind of bugs that you can't get rid off is just, well...
  2. [bUG 9] http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/74105-gamestopping-bug-do-not-equip-the-drinking-horn-of-moderation/ Equipping the item 'Drinking Horn of Moderation' and removing the item again and re-equipping seems to boost your intelligence each time by +2 permanently. Seems like a combination between 'Nr1 and Nr2' in the first post of this thread. A new variation of a virus going ham xD Anyways added here as I think it should be on the list of bugs everyone should know about.
  3. This bug as I read might not be related to 2 other bugs. One that seems to affect the loading into specific area's while wearing equipment that boosts certain stats permanently increase the stats by the amount you are wearing on top of your current character stats. And one where if you dubbleclick on a item to equip an item, strange things happen. Like Nr1 and Nr2 in this thread: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/73757-list-of-bugs-that-everyone-should-know-about-game-breaking/ p.s. I added your thread as well (with a link to yours) on the buglist thread that everyone should know about. It sucks I cant edit the first post in my thread to update the bug list :/ Its on page 10 somewhere now atleast.
  4. I don't play any 'Godlike' race. First of all I find them extremely ugly, and secondly I find them a bit too 'OP'. I rather have a 'normal' party, and play a game that is constantly challenging me each fight.
  5. Really? I really find the visuals to be really pleasing. There are many beautiful places in this game. And honestly I don't care if each block of cement looks the same, I mean they already spend 3 years developing, I didn't want to wait another 10 years either so they have every cement block in the game manually created to suit your Aesthetics. ^_^ But each one their own opinion ofcourse, I do wonder though if you already visited places in the later acts? Or you just finished or still playing Act 1?
  6. I will give it a try tonight. I really forgot to play with these settings with regards to DRS. See the difference is noticeable or not. The screenshot provided got me curious atleast. Though a first look the differences look very minimal.
  7. I am currently waiting. Not because I can play avoiding some bugs but more because I think this game's content is valuable enough that I really want a great first playthrough experience. And these bugs currently really prevent me from having that really awesome experience that I want, which I believe the game cán provide once some of the high priority bugs are gone. So, I rather wait for now and play some other games, I have some fun RolePlaying Reign of Kings too, also very buggy game but its still in alpha so I can just toy around xD
  8. Interesting topic. I honestly am not bothered that much with the combat system, I have not much prior experience with older RPG games like the D&D/BG or something. I come into this game as a fresh 'new' person, though not new to the RPG scene in general even though I missed some of the classics. Only thing I personally dislike is that I have to redo the same circle of combinations each fight. It would be really nice (like the chanter class) that you can pre-configure certain skills that you want activated as soon as combat starts. Especially when it comes to certain encounter buffs that you have available each encounter, I find it annoying that I have to activate them manually each fight. Would be nice if I can control a bit more which abilities can be activated at the start of each fight. But, I can live with that for now as I am really enjoying the game (If I remove for a moment the current bugs plaguing (affecting) the game.
  9. The only ones who (might) not be affected by this bug are Mac users. I've talked with a few on the steam discussion thread where I provided the necessary reproduction steps and they told me that they could not reproduce. I don't have a Mac so I can't tell if they made a mistake or not. Any Mac user can confirm if this bug also contains the Mac version? p.s. @Jazou I understand what you mean, but I think doing the hotfixes for just one fix might end up taking more time then bundling patches. We waited many years for the game to be released, I think we can wait a few days longer for the patch. I would hate it though if this particular bug would still be unsolved in 1.03, but I don't want to jump conclusions at this moment. Tbh, I haven't read a lot of reviews yet that complain about bugs in PoE either. ... modern games are known for a low standard in bugtesting. Reviewers have kind of resigned over this and have given up on downrating buggy games. I noticed too. But this particular bug for example is hard to notice. I did however see many people complain about how easy the game is on hard difficulty. I think many of those complainers were unaware of this particular bug in the thread. Hence I think everyone should know about these bugs so not to draw false conclusions or ruin your first playthrough experience.
  10. I will keep calm but I have a different definition of game breaking. Sure I admit not all of the listed bugs in this page are game breaking. But the one that is definitely game breaking is the bug when you load a savegame you have a change that one of your companions, even yourself in certain conditions gain permanent stats. which results in the character slowly becoming a superhero and for me, who wants to play this game on hard difficulty and face challenging content. This is game breaking for me. Hence, I am currently not playing the game and waiting for the patch before continueing. Or possibly restarting the game if the bug is fixed but doesn't revert the changes in current savegames.
  11. I really find it a shame that I can NOT edit my previous posts after a certain time period. I see some other interesting 'high priority' bugs on the forum and I want to bundle them together in this thread to make it easier for the community to keep track of the high level bugs that you 'need' to know about. Either to prevent them from happening in your game, or that you know certain things are broken and you are not left with a 'WTF' moment Also thanks for the likes, I honestly did not expect to receive so many upvotes for this. I did post it because I thought everyone should be aware of these bugs. As I was unaware of them until I was browsing these forums while being bored at work. And have since been spreading the list creating awareness both here and on the steamcommunity discussion threads. The CRPG (I don't really understand the 'C' part) community here is really nice. For me it is a very welcome change to the usual MMO kiddies I am used to dealing with on game forums. Here people actually are more mature and grown up. @aeolisio Very nice work, I wish I could add this information to the 'first post' but unfortunately I am unable to do so with the current forum rights.
  12. Alright... Looks like I can not edit my first and second post in this thread, so I am unable to update the bugs. A moderator would need to take over and maintain a list of high priority bugs. Though I think the really high ones are mostly described already for now.
  13. Could you please give an explanation how to observe if there are too high stats or missing talents? Read 'nr1' original source topic. I think on page 3-4 there are examples with screenshots. Or simply press C, and look under defenses. also check if you have unusually high INT, Might, Constitution etc especially if one of your armors boosts that particular stat.
  14. Good note, I will edit my post and include them where-possible. I do encourage the original source posters of each bug to include those in their posts though. Makes it a bit easier for me to just keep a list, with short description what the bug entails.
  15. Haha, yes this bug explains why so many people complained the game felt so easy on its 'hard' setting. I am lucky I found out relatively soon and only finished all Main & side-quests in Act1.
  16. Hello, your bug has been added in a (attempt) to centralize the more important (gamebreaking) bugs in the game: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/73757-list-of-bugs-that-everyone-should-know-about-game-breaking/
  17. For some reason I am unable to edit my first post. I can not update the bug list, I suspect there is a x duration after you posted that you can edit your post. I would like to ask a moderator or something to help and make a list of all the bugs in order of seriousness. But I don't know when someone will read this. I however can edit my second post, which is almost on the top. I will keep adding new bugs as people report. Please do try to link me the original source, and if possible with steps how to reproduce them. The main point is a list of bugs with links to original sources that we (the community), preferably with the help of our moderators update the bug list.
  18. Thank god for NCarver (Developer). If he has read this topic (seems he is reading right now) then I can rest assured that they are aware of it. I hope they can easily fix this issue, maybe even hotfix it so I can continue playing the game on the HARD setting, when the game is also actually hard As right now since my characters have been affected by this bug, I am not continueing because it ruins the fun (being challenging on hardmode).
  19. I tried both and I find that dual wielding works best for barbarian, especially if you want to make good use of carnage with rage. Get as many hits in as possible during that time.
  20. Not saving in the area you got the companion might help but people still report that saving in certain open areas will nevertheless trigger the bug. Also don't forget that your HP might randomly raise, which doesn't seem to be tied to items/spells as there's no +hp affixes even. Lol... I see, guess I will just wait for hotfix/patch. I waited long enough I can wait a bit longer. Such a shame, but well... thats life. There are two possible reasons: - the bug was introduced in the Day-1 patch - they were aware of the problem and decided to release the game anyway From what I heard on Steam forum, is that in alpha/beta etc they all tested with a preconfigured group. So no companions. Hence no1 noticed a thing.
  21. -> EDIT <- I can not edit the first post anymore, I suspect there is a x duration when you can not edit your post anymore. I will add the new ones here: [bUG 7] http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/72866-sanitarium-not-sure-if-bug-or-supposed-to-happen-spoilers/ http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/72139-possible-bug-in-sanitarium/ In Sanitarium there is a possible bug where all enemies turn hostile, and the discussion currently is that it is not supposed to happen. I will add it here as the general consensus seems to be that this is not supposed to happen. [bUG 8] https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/73785-bugs-damage-over-time-issues/ Having high int actually decreases DPS of your dots! I think by that logic having below 10 int would increase the dps of your dots. So basically, if you look at the source thread. It looks like the developer switched A with B =) Where 6 damage over 6 seconds with higher intelligence should be for example 8 damage over 6 seconds. The code right now does 6 damage over 8 seconds, so it takes longer with higher intelligence to do the same amount of damage compared to when you have lower damage. HAHA, quite funny
  22. Same here, :< Today I just go do something else, maybe tomorrow I will play a bit on new character and avoid some bugs. one way to do it would be to make a full custom party for now, i need to think about it. I wanna continue my current save t.b.h. :@:@:@
  23. Developers wrote in FAQ a workaround: Users have reported having their Ranger animal companions becoming stuck in the scene and invisible after loading saved games. If you get this to occur, immediately close the client (not just quit to the main menu). Unfortunately if you save when the issue is occurring, it will persist, so the best option is to load a prior save until a fix is patched.
  24. The mother of all game breaking bugs. I really stopped playing right now when I noticed my characters are affected. I am pondering atm if in the meantime I should make a new game and play the rogue I wanted to try as well while waiting for the hotfix. Now I know about it, I can avoid this bug by simply never saving in the area where you picked up your companion, or be sure to remove all stat boosting items before saving and loading.
  25. Hello Developers, As much as I love this game, I can not play the game in its current form. Which really saddens me. The reason being there are a few game breaking bugs that we can not even reverse ourselves. List of game breaking bugs you should be aware about and fixing ASAP next patch. As we can NOT play the game as intended!! Nr 1 http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/73449-stat-bonus-modifiers-can-erroneously-be-applied-multiple-times-allowing-stats-to-grow-beyond-intended-values/ The mother of all game breaking bugs and the main reason so many people are complaining that the game is too easy on HARD difficulty. Loading a Savegame in the same map where you picked up a companion, and the companion is wearing armor that boost <random stats>. Each time you load a savegame, the stats increase! do it 100 times and your character is INVINCIBLE. Nr 2 http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/72923-psa-game-breaking-bug-affecting-everyone-including-you-temporary-fix-for-party-members-only-currently/ Double clicking on a item (like armor, boots etc) and then it equipping on said character his perma stats disappear. Nr 3: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/72764-quick-saving-and-loading-times-increased-greatly-after-20-hours/ I personally didnt experience this yet, but this also hinders gameplay that much that it falls under the category game breaking. The more you save, the longer it takes to load/save again, people reporting 20-30 hours into the game saves are taking aprox 30 sec to quicksave, and similar time to load. Nr 4: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/73289-so-many-bugs/ Summoning Bug, where after combat the summoned creatures do NOT despawn, leaving you permanently in combat. You can NOT control your summoned creatures anymore and they go with you every map... Workaround is probably loading a previous save for now but I have not confirmed this. Similar thing to Stronghold, there is also a bug at the stronghold that after an enemy wave and you kill it. They keep coming back EVERY time you visit. I tried finding the source but couldnt find it here,, the lovely search function on this forum seems missing. nr 5: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/72614-endless-paths-level-13-is-uncompletable-major-bug/ Endless Path level 13, spirits not giving password so you can not continue. Nr 6 : http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/73704-bugged-stronghold-tax/ , http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/73737-empty-treasury/ Strong Hold doesn't give tax, it only claims taxes (lol). There are multiple topics about it, I just picked out these 2.
