I'm still annoyed but really it's not that bad. It's practically a month wait. The only thing I hate is that I KNOW if I read ANY KOTOR forum I'm gonna get spoiled so for those 2 months I'm going into KOTOR 2 media blackout.

Usage of John Williams SW score?
Jarx Xun replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The music in KOTOR was alright, too subdued to be anything close to John Williams' SW score. I hope the new music will emphasize the themes already present in the movie score, just to make it feel more like star wars. -
Adding in relatively human-like aliens wouldn't be so bad... Like Tw`lek, Zabrak, Chiss etc. As long as they had the same human form I doubt it would affect the story so much.

If only Galaxies was set int he same time period KotOr was it would solve so many problems that game has right now and it'd actually would be fun.

Theories on the masked sith guy!
Jarx Xun replied to Stargate: 2000's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Exar Kun just used the Massassi during the war to help him out... Or that's the way I always thought it was. He used the force to control them. -
Only if you buy him a cashmere sweater first.

The Soviets seized power with the purported objective of creating a 'classless' society in which all people were equal and the working class and proletariat had absolute control, after the supposed 'transitionary phase' of absolute dictatorship. They were a dictatorship that pretended to hold on to power for a limited time, claiming to be preparing the way for a 'better' society. The Nazis seized power with the purported objective of absolute dictatorship, with a strict hierarchy leading up to one all-powerful leader who could make decisions quickly and efficiently, without the encumbrace of Senates and commitees and such. They seized power, and they never pretended they were ever going to give it up. Which sounds closer to the Empire? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good point. I think we can all agree that GL took inspiration from many places but the Nazi regime was more influential because of the serials he used to watch back in the day ie. serials he based Indiana Jones off of.
-
does it really matter that GL might have gained inspiration from the Nazi's for his creative work? Does that make him a nazi to americans? Is that why people are against this connection. I'm sure though that GL has said that the Empire was inspired by the nazi regime, however I have no proof to back up that statement so I dunno.

Lame Prestige Classes...
Jarx Xun replied to Grand_Commander13's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Hopefully they will be adding special feats for those classes to make them really something exciting rather than just an extension of the existing classes. -
How many KotORs is too many?
Jarx Xun replied to Product of the Cosmos's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
They should make it a series. Basically you have one huge story arc spanned across 2 or 3 games. Then you make another set of games with whole new characters and different sotry to keep things different... Sort of liek Final Fantasy or Fire Emblem series where you have the same basic idea each time but with KotOR you'd have a couple of games with a linked story. Does that make sense? I dunno. -
Hilts sound like a good Xbox live/pc patch update don't you think?

I've read that you can configure 2 weapon slots. Is it possible for the PC version to make 10 slots and bind them to the number keys, I don't think they are being used I forget. Though it seems silly to have 10 weapon configurations I just thought that it might be useful to maybe have 3 or 4, so you can have your saber, blaster and nothing equipped by hotkey. Oh wait I just remembered that the number keys are already taken, but I'm sure you can find 4 or 5 unused keys.

Its very hard to swallow...this new story line
Jarx Xun replied to JediMafia's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It's not an objective view because you are making assumptions about a story you haven't even heard, you are complaining that the setup of the story doesn't make sense. Well that may be because we don't ahve th whole story yet. Your view is inherently flawed! -
yeah some people just aren't ever happy... BTW your avatar is Holly from Red Dwarf right? That show makes me laugh so hard.

Its very hard to swallow...this new story line
Jarx Xun replied to JediMafia's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Oh my goodness did they release the script of the game or something??? Jedimafia how do you know the story doesn't make sense can I get a link to the story you're reading, I assume it's the complete story since your opinion seems very deffinite that the story makes no sense, even though the rest of the public has a vague setup of what the story is. -
I think some people don't really understand what a sequel is... It's a continuation of the first game. It doesn't have to have a new graphics engine, new mechanics or even new cahracters. As long as the second game continues the storyline from the first it's still a sequel, may not be good one though. Frankly the graphics in Kotor are already really good so there is no need to waste time making a new engine and new editing tools when there are excellent ones already available. Also why would you revamp the mechanics for a sequel? The reason the original games was good was because the mechanics worked well. Usually if a sequel changes the way the original game was played it runs a high risk of destroying what was so good about the original. I see that people are also asking for Obsidian to add things to Knights of the Old Republic that are games in themselves. They want to be able to fly in space, to ride vehicles, to not be a jedi but be different classes. These options would take so much work to put in because of the engine and story limitations that it would not be worth doing. Do they really add that much to a game? Play Star Wars Galaxies, that has all those things, does that make it a great game? Obsidian is improving on the original game and is adding new content and is continuing the story, adding new characters and features. I would call this a great sequel.

I'm just wondering when did we see this style? I can't remember when we watched Revan fight. Or are you referring to something else?

You gots ta chill man were just having some fun I doubt anyone seriously wants Obsidian to score KotoR 2 with sick hip hop tracks. And that post about Hey Ya made me laugh so hard. Personally I think they should get Lil' Jon to produce the sound track, OOOOKKKAAAYYYYY.
