  1. That hasnt been doable in most games for a darn good while though. It almost always requires some modder to make a tool to set stuff up in an editable and recompile-able framework. Since this is an RPG forum, anyone here play Arcanum: of Steamworks and Magic Obscure? Remember the item editor for that? There wasnt one originally. You used a hex editor. I originally learned hex solely to make firearms early-game not awful in Black Mountain Mines But then, some guy made a UI for it that automatically allowed you to change item stats very quickly without having to sort through a metric ****-ton of hex code and it'd spit out a file right there for you using Java, I think. And then on top of that, a totally different dude made a freaking web editor. You could enter the crap on a website, and it'd pop out your file right then and there. Both of these required alot of effort from the modders, presumably. They werent easily editable, until they wanted them to be. EDIT: @Luckmann, yeah I agree with you there. The nuts-and-bolts fundamental stuff isnt accessible, which is a god damn shame because thats what'd let people do some really cool stuff.
  2. Yeeaaah.. no. Have you tried modding PoE? Man I wish values could just be edited in a text editor like some games. Would be so awesome. Item stats can, many ability stats can, tons of stuff can be modded. It just requires an expensive program to do it Or maybe Disunity can somehow, idk. Need to actualy be able to modify .unity3d files to make changes which links to the other crap. Failing that, there are always those maniacs with Cheat Engine or hex editors who have the patience to go through numbers entry-by-entry to see what does what in a file.
  3. Actually, there is exactly one example of this in the game as it stands today -- Grieving Mother leaves permanently if you choose to sacrifice the child in the Twin Falls quest. Just making sure the game gets credit where credit is due. Same with the tiger and its cubs in the Galawain's quest, oddly.
  4. I hope that harder encounters isnt going to boil down to "Enemies instantly charm/dominate 4 of your 6 guys at the start of every encounter" in future titles.
  5. Honestly, Im leaning closer and closer to this opinion myself. Estoc aside (and even then). I like where ranged is overall, but there are a good bit of melee elements that seem to be lackluster.
  6. OP is a po boy, and I ~DONT~ mean the sandwich
  7. You can actually do this in theory with mod tools, OP. Put your money where your ass is. I mean mouth.
  8. I'm not seeing the 30-day trial button at all on my Unity download. Using the proper version and all, but only have the prompt to enter a key or start the free version. Should I take this up with the Unity Tech folks, or am I missing something much more obvious here? Or is indeed no longer possible, as said on first page?
  9. Only thing that really seemed off to me was "Gamebanshee.com" as a memorial ingame. That was kinda out of place.
  10. - Dragons no longer allowed in lore to change gender at their own whim. Now required to link Twitter profile to confirm.
  11. uhuh I have a hard time believing that was it. I would be apt to believe he was pressured or bought out if that were true Have you seen the individual in question? Taking any of her threats seriously is giving her way too much credit. "Bought out" by what exactly? A free redo of his backer's message?
  12. Frankly more people should ask themselves this in this particular situation. And if they have any answer aside from some variation of "Nothing, really" then they should really reconsider whats going on
  13. Obsidian did not buckle under pressure. At the time, there really wasnt any pressure. They, as stated, were going to leave the message in. But the guy who made the message in question said "Naah, its not worth the PR trouble. I'll change it to a more tongue-in-cheek joke instead".
  14. Had the individual not made the post regarding total annihilation of men, this would probably only be about 80% as big a talking point as people are forcing it to be. I dont think that was in anyone's best interest.
  15. I'm guessing trans people have their own lingo to describe their unique challenges and experiences. Its like Orcs in the Elder Scrolls, you see. Gro- as a prefix for their last name (meaning son of), and Gra-for a female, meaning daughter of. Trans Dwemer announced as playable for TES6
  16. deadname?Name before she transitioned. Gets hurled at transfolk a lot. Ah cool, I'm not up to date on the latest lore. I stopped playing in 3.5 edition.
  17. Actually, there was a choice. They asked me if I wanted to change in light of what happened. I chose to change it so that they can concentrate on the game instead of this PR nightmare. They weren't going to change it, they asked ME if I wanted to. I can find another platform to write my controversial crap, and I will. They, on the other hand, did the right thing and allowed me to decide the fate of the epitaph. I chose to turn into something that made fun of the bitch-bastards that were complaining. They went above and beyond what I would have expected them to do. All hail. All hail.
  18. Agreed. People made their case on both sides of the issue. Obsidian listened and made up its own mind about how best to respond. Respect their decision and move on. The prolonged and irrational anti-"SJW" tantrum is effing infantile. No it is just freedom of speech. And a reaction to their behavior since its getting more and more stupid every day. And now the line is almost completely crossed for many people. It has nothing to do with freedom of speech. Pillars of Eternity is an owned property of Obsidian Entertainment, a private company, who can do with it whatever they please. Backer content was submitted with the understanding that it would be vetted by that same entity. No speech is being impinged here. You are very confused about what speech you are entitled to if you think otherwise. What I do see is another eruption from the videogame community that has, over the last year or so, revealed itself to be deeply regressive, deeply out of touch, and at times downright hateful. I'm sorry one of my favorite developers has to bear the brunt of another such eruption, but they owe you nothing. If you are offended by this, you are on the wrong side of history. At best, you can hope to look back on this and shake your head at your younger self. At best. Hold up lemme get a bunch of dictonary definitions to try to disprove your point.
