Sexually explicit content
Blarghagh replied to Sad Panda's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
As this topic has now covered everything from rape in literature to the humor inherent in killing children, I think it's safe to say the thread has moved off-topic from sexual content in PoE. As such, I've decided to close it. I'd like to request we let topic rest for a while, because it isn't really appropriate for the board in the first place. -

I had no idea scorpions did that. That is totally awesome. -
I feel bad for Spain, you can tell they're trying so hard.

Wow, that one IS attractive. I want to cuddle it. -
Damn, they're running miles in this game.
-
So Spain is still going to be fielding the same goalie.
-
Looked like it just kinda bounced up against a hand that was already there to me, from the slowmo replay. The player even got startled by it touching him, like "wtf just happened?". But maybe I'm inherently biased or something? I wouldn't rule that out, though I'm trying to be objective. Hard call to make, especially on the field. Just saying it looked accidental and unavoidable to me, personally. EDIT: This is not one of the calls I find the refs lacking for, to clarify. It was a tough call. I find the refs lacking because this game was almost ridiculously physical (from both sides) and almost never did they catch anything.
-
Credit where credit's due, Jaded - the Dutch were pretty physical on their own end. Ref was awful, though. Exciting game. Caihill's goal was amazing and Australia started out playing better but failed to utilize their chances and switched players ended up sliding the balance into Oranje's favor (with Depay in particular earning his keep more than any other player on the field). Wonder who will replace Van Persie since his second yellow means he's suspended for the next game. Yet my favourite moment was Leckie (I hope I'm spelling his name right) his hilarious dive. Give that man a Razzie for his trouble! EDIT: I gotta say, seeing an after game replay, that handball call wasn't warranted at all.
-
Haha, what a ridiculous dive! Nice moment of comedy.
-
Spain wasn't so much a show of how good Oranje was as it was a show of how awful Spain is. One, so far, at that horrific giveaway you mentioned. I could feel the entire audience collectively clenching their butt at that one. :D
-
Looks like the second half is going to be even more unfriendly than the first.
-
Awesome goal, one of the best in the tournament. Game could stand to be more friendly, though. Bit too much pushing and pulling from both sides. EDIT: Wow, Oranje's defense is in shambles. Well, not entirely in shambles, but they have no grip on the midfield.

Maybe he has Jedi reflexes, he knows where he needs to be before it happens.

Sexually explicit content

we knew this were coming. *sigh* there isn't any such place. really. sure, there is places in sub-saharan africa where rape happens frequently, but even there it is considered a bad thing. murder also happens in such places. just 'cause it happens frequent, don't think the people there is unaware that rape is bad. yeah, we suspect there was, in the distant past, times and places where women were considered less than human. and there Is some cultures even today wherein women is considered little better than property, but rape is still considered a violation in such places. exception: even today there is a suprising wide held belief that a wife cannot be raped by a husband, but again, am doubting obsidian would engage in such nonsense. *shrug* regardless, we knew some yutz would try the moral relativism shtick. grats. HA! Good Fun! As much as I wish it was true, I'm not sure that is entirely accurate. -
Reminds me of Nick Cage for some reason.

It may be fine to discuss topics such as rape and pedophilia in literature or literature classes but this board is meant to be somewhat more age appropriate than that (PoE will be rated for age-appropriateness by whoever rates games, but this board is not rated). We try not to enforce that too much but this thread is walking a very fine line as it is so I would prefer it if we could move to a somewhat less dark and controversial topic than an in-depth discussion on sexual violence in media, because I'm afraid we will probably have to close this thread if that doesn't happen. -

I think it's been confirmed there are no romances. -

Just because they're able to not shy away from it doesn't mean there will be a lot of it, which is good because Game of Thrones is freaking ridiculous with it's sexposition scenes. -
JadedWolf's Hopefully Attractive Giant Insect Thread

Well, it has eight legs, so it's surely not an insect. It surely looks like an arachnid. In fact, it looks like an Amblypygid. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amblypygi It's still welcome in this thread though! Just... Keep it away from the actual insects a bit. It's giving them funny looks. It's a Thelyphonid, apparently. An arachnid, so not an insect. Here's the Dobsonfly to make up for my mistake. -
Screw canon, headcanon is always superior. Anyway, did we actually find out the Jedi purposefully, forcefully mind-wiped Revan? I was under the impression that Malak's betrayal permanently damaged Revan's mind (Bastila mentions something about there not being much left to save) and the Jedi implanted a new identity to keep him alive, and that they were able to give him an identity that might lead them to the secret of the Sith power was just a happy coincidence. I've always favored this view since the Jedi mind-wiping someone makes them seem rather evil. It doesn't seem like a Jedi thing to do.
