What do you think the twist(s) will be in KOTOR II
Indalecio replied to Tyrell's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Oh, a Quixotic Jedi. Any usage of the Force is the result of Kreia's subtle interference. Actually that'd be pretty cool. But following that, what if you actually develop Force sensitivity for real? Or not, depending on how the plot turns out? -
Remember the 20 min video of KOTOR?
Indalecio replied to Tyrell's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Hmm..I saw the video. Still I didn't feel it spoiled the experience. It didn't reveal any plots points,(other than the fact you at some point go to Tatooine), but it did show character creation which was nice. -
The game in the screenshot is Thousand Arms. Fun game, great characters, average plot, bad battle system. Also one of the few RPGs to contain a dating-sim in them.

Malice is on again, cross platform again. Releases tomorrow. Check Gamespot if you don't believe me. Hm....How about that? It is! Thanks! I would've totally missed this otherwise!

Ugh no thats not true im sorry. KOTOR is great, Morrowind was ehh buggy but ok in the long run, Splinter Cell and Splinter Pandora Tomorrow are both ok, Halo, Project Gotham Racing 2, Madden 2004, Fight Night 2004, and now Fable and KOTOR 2. I am a hardcore X-Box fan I would buy any game for X-Box than I would my PC. Sorry, but I am going to have to agree with Jaberwocki on this. I haven't bought an X-Box, and I don't see a reason to anywhere in the near future. No games that I like. There -were- some games that might have tempted me, these being... Malice(was going to go cross-platform to PS2, but is now canceled) Psychonauts(canceled) KOTOR(availible on PC) KOTOR2(availible on PC) Fable(Just not enough to justify a purchase. Besides, its just Princess Maker on steroids )

Dude, if you want to be a bounty hunter in an RPG environment so bad, play Galaxies. Also, what's this "munchkin" people keep referring to? Munchkin You'll need to scroll down to it.

Questions the the Devs - Take 2
Indalecio replied to EnderAndrew's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I've got something. Not really a question, but a suggestion for the developers. Have a feat that allow Lightsaber roles to have bonuses from Dexterity, not Strength. In D20 Star Wars there's already a feat like that called "Weapon Finesse". It allows you to choose one weapon. When you attack with that weapon, you gain bonuses from having a High Dexterity. Normally you'd get the bonuses from having a high Strength. This is good for characters with high Dexterity, but low Strength. For characters with high strength or comparitively low Dexterity, this feat would be pointless. There might be some balancing issues, though. In D20 Pen & Paper, this feat was balanced by the fact it could only be used with one melee weapon. In TSL, you'll likely only be using a Lightsaber. With only one weapon to worry about, no one would care about raising Strength, and mostly raise Dexterity. More Dexterity means a better AC, which means you'll be harder to hit. So why would anyone not want to take this feat? The answer is armor. Armor, especially the heavier varieties, cap out the dexterity bonus. If you're hindered by armor, you can't use your Dexterity to full benefit. If you want to wear heavy armor, you can't use Weapon Finesse, so you're basically shooting yourself in the foot. I can see this feat being used mostly by Jedi. Certain armors prevent using Force Powers, so they wouldn't wear armor anyway. Thougths? -
We're rude? Do you have any idea how annoying it is to read something in ALL CAPS? Especially with no paragraph breaks? Fortunately, you expressed yourself way better with your last post.

I can, and do. But mapping all the keyboard functions, and some of the mouse functions is difficult. In-game movement is pretty easy to map. I'am still trying to figure out to map combat to control pad. If the entire game is playable from keyboard, that makes my task a whole lot easier.
-
Something that occured to me while playing KOTOR on my PC today. Reaching for my mouse constantly gives me a pain in my shoulder. Old Repetitive Strain Injury. Would be possible to be able to play the new game entirely from keyboard? I betting there are probably others with similar problems.

Er..., if Alan Dean Foster 'ghost' writed it you won't see any source credit him as the writer. That's the whole purpose of ghost writers, do the job for some big shot name who will get all the credit and leave you with a few dimes in exchange... Perhaps...but I don't think that GL would've have let someone else write it. At that time, he wasn't very popular in Hollywood, he was even rejected as a director for Flash Gordon. Without popularity and little money I doubt that he would have hire someone write it. He may have asked for a few pointers and/or opinions, but someone else writting it? Hmmm...doesn't sound right... I guess some people think GL didn't write EP IV because he could've done a better job with the prequels (story wise, of course). From what I recall, there were a number of Episode IV scripts written. One where Luke is a chubby kid with a Lightsaber who rescues Princess Leia from Alderaan the Imperial Prison Planet. Another where he's called Luke Starkiller. Some written by Lucas, some by another guy(I think it was Alan Dean Foster, because he also wrote Splinter Of The Mind's Eye, and the Star Wars novels) . Anyway, this is from Skywalking(biography of George Lucas) by Dale Pollock

Awww... No love for the Ewok PC? How about a Jawa? Ugnaught?

Just along with this question. 2a. Will we have finer control over party AI? While playing KOTOR, there were a number of times when various party members would go off running in multiple separate directions and get themselves killed. Will there be a "Follow The Leader" option where the party sticks close to whoever has the current focus? Or something similar?

The Sith Lords - Speculation
Indalecio replied to EnderAndrew's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
As I tried to explain earlier I agree with that completely. Beauty and truth exist independant of perception, but I think they are only realized through perception. Yeah, sorry. I should've read further before responding. Still it was a good point to bring out. -
My point exacly ..since Episode IV was almost entirely written by Lawrence Kasdan(GL was devorcing his first whife at that point and simply didn

This is what you're talking about , correct? I don't know about sinister. But it does seem somewhat still. No waterfalls. No birds. And that Jedi has his saber lit. Is he facing some unseen opponent? Practicing katas? Edit:Kumkwatq got to it first.

Heh. "You don't know the power of the Flourescent Side of the Force!"

The Sith Lords - Speculation
Indalecio replied to EnderAndrew's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yes, but the fact that both beauty and truth can be recognized by an individual means that both must exist on some level. -
I see it this way. Darth Revan and Darth Malak weren't Sith. Sure they called themselves Sith, but they had recieved no Sith training, so they were really just Jedi gone bad. Meanwhile, there were probably -real- Sith out waiting to take advantage of the situation, which they probably do in TSL.
