  1. by the scale of drake compared to humans, the dragons are gonna be HUUUUGE the drakes are seriously the size of dragons in skyrim and high dragon in dragon age. if their growth are even the half from wurms to drake, it wil lbe awesome
  2. well if you are loaded you can buy lile 10,000 copies of the game XD or even take out few millions to hire obsidian creating sequels without any creative / time constraints
  3. where's this on? i scoured the wiki for information, and didn't find things like this. maybe i don't try well enough Cant EDIT: put in spoiler tags.
  4. that's true about level, it will be awesome to play with high level magics like in BG 2. maybe the third game will be as long as PoE 1 and 2 combined XD if they sell really well, obsidian will have twice the budget PoE has without even kickstarting. we will start aat level 1 and end at lvl 30, the game will be 200 hours long XD a man can dream
  5. basically like mass effect or fallout, baldur's gate and neverwinter nights, the witcher and dragon age etc, etc the first option: 1.1 :the story began not too long after PoE 1 finished, mostly featuring the same characters with some new addition, overarching plot line. (mass effect, baldur's gate, etc). 1.2 :to a lesser degree, KOTOR 1 & 2 ( the conflict's scope is alot bigger than the first protagonist's, the first game ties up what protagonist is involved, but overall big picture of the conflict isn't finished, we tackle the same big event in different point of view, with set of new characters, some shared villains and events) think like templar vs assassins in AssCreed games. second option: 2.1 : different conflict that happened in other region, in the same time frame as the first one. 2.2 : timeskip. after some moment of peace in said region, a new threat arises, so is new heroes. well they aren'y mutually exclusive of course. it can be a little of each, but Eora is shaping to be a really detailed, expansive world, in the era of discovery, so a mix of 1.2, 2.1 and 2.2 can be really awesome, instead of direct sequels. if this keep making money, we hopefully will be seeing Eora in many games and watch how the world develop, and isn't afraid to break status quo like elder scrolls. i like elder scrolls sequel works, as i said, kinda combination of all the variation, but the world in-game itself is too static and the devs is afraid or unable to introduce world-changing plot element in game, instead of becoming an in-book story. dwemer for example, will probably never appear in-game aside from that corpus - ridden dude in morrowind, or the eruption of red mountain, the great war, etc. they make a super major events into background stories instead of integrating it to the main plot.
  6. Divinity original sin and wasteland 2 were quite a success, this one can be even more successful critically and financially if handled right.
  7. can anyone with reddit account ask if not too late: will the sequel (hopefully there is) be self contained (like elder scrolls) i/e seeing another, mostly unrelated event in different region, or direct continuity to the first story?
  8. hmm, that is true, that "completionist" playtrough will take multiple plays, it is an obsidian games after all. one of the few developers that actually has meaningful choices / consequences. so i supposed it is "everything you can do that's not conflicting others storyline" playtrough and some path might be shorter / longer than other like legion from new vegas as opposed to picking NCR
  9. every single quests, dungeons, stronghold upgrade, bosses/secret bosses, if it is anything like baldur's gate 2 i'm expecting at least 60 hours, and the main quest alone is 20-30 hours. probably the mega dungeon alone will take at least 5 hours to 15 hours to complete.
  10. probably paradox store, since there is no cut from the distributor
  11. Then you are a fool! It was linear and was all about combat, and the villains were never properly built up. It COULD have been an excellent continuation if it had been BG3 instead of an expansion since Bioware would have more time to flesh it out. The problem with ToB was that it was wasted potential. Thanks to it we'll never get the proper sequel BG2 warranted. well it is kinda a wasted potential if you see it that way, but i still think it pace really good for 15 - 20 hours expansion. but if it really was a full fledged sequel with alot of content and build up like SoA have, it would be really great.
  12. *shrug* All games you've listed based on D&D, right? As far as I'm familiar with this game system (that would be from 1st AD&D up to 3rd D&D) pure casters tend to suck in early levels, be kinda ok in the middle and dominate everything in the late, because IT'S FRIGGIN' MAGIC, MAN! Largely depends on campaign itself, of course, but tendency stands. And in NWN/NWN2 (3rd Ed based games) with all those prestiges you can grow up a really scary pal on whatever base you want, if you're up for it. Breeding horrible monsters of a characters that would make Frankenstein stammer was considerable part of the fun with those games. Point is, PoE doesn't use D&D, casters in it have some humility built in on ruleset level, so the answer to OP is "very unlikely". Many people don't like magic users being so underpowered comparing to IE games, but I, for one, am glad that I won't have to panic looking at the enemies group having three major casters in it (Kangax. Twisted Rune. I'm not good with BG2 at all, flog me). the problem is non D&D games are like that too >__> try morrowind, evernum series even some of the final fantasy games. unless this will the most balanced offline RPG ever. i this isn't really a complain tho. i'm fine with being overpowered. i'm just wondering
  13. yup. early game, and baldur's gate 1 ( since you cannot level up to high level, only in level 7-8's) warrior are always better, the steep curve comes after level 12+ and tier 5/6 spells are more common
  14. hmm i didn't kow Throne of Bhaal is so frowned upon. i think it is excellent continuation of the MC's story
  15. oh, i hoped it would be more like Throne of Bhaal / Mask of The Betrayer. kinda continuation to the main story
  16. Mask of The Betrayer is truly a league of it's own. it deserve to be it's own game. unless you're talking about NWN 1 with Horde of The Underdark
  17. expansion pack DLC (even new characters like in mass effect 3, DA:O) are poison. they just cut a slice of a pizza and sell the missing pizza to people, when they advertise it as a full pizza. expansion packs are like offering a dessert after the customer eat the whole pizza
  18. so do the ai go to the nearest character, or go for the first attacker, or the highest damage dealer? the latter is probably the most problematic, if i use my warrior to lure the mooks to attack him, and i throw fireball spell, and deal alot of damage, they will change the target to the caster? or it will stick to the first that we aggro'd? if so, then caster will really have clear advantages in a group. you just have to keep the tank alive, and other just attack, and watch out for new spawning enemies that we haven't aggro'd. i remember in kotor, NWN, they go for the highest damage dealer so we cannot spam fireblast or missiles and stay at the same place, but there are skills that keep enemies targeting one person or easily use a binding spell (esp if they are low level mook with low effect threshold)
