  1. Cool stuff Hurlshot. Just remember, your fingers are going to hurt a lot. That's not a sign you should stop playing though, the more you abuse them the tougher they'll get and then you'll find they suddenly no longer hurt. That's what I've heard, although I heard electrical is not as hard on the fingers as acoustic. I also heard classical guitars (because of nylon strings or something?) are easier too, but my goal is electric so I figure no need to start on something different. Ideally, it's probably best to start on an acoustic because generally speaking they're harder to learn on, making the transition to electric seem pretty easy, but there's nothing wrong with starting on an electric. The best advice I can give you, as simple as it sounds, is not to give up. Every now and then (it happens more often when you're just starting out) you'll come across something that just seems impossible. For myself, I had a hard time learning barre chords. You'll find yourself saying "my fingers just won't move fast enough" or something along those lines, but the trick is to do everything very slowly, and very accurately. Anyone can build up enough dexterity to play the guitar, it may just take some longer than others.

  7. I was at an Ultimate tournament this weekend in Pittsburgh. We went 6-1, losing only to Pittsburgh themselves (currently ranked #3 in the nation). We competed with them losing 15-12, which isn't too bad at all. We also qualified for a Nationals tournament being held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina later in November.
  8. you'd probably be better off asking this on Singularity's forums
  9. Yeah, bloody sand sucks. So don't brain-bleed on the beach. Do you see what you're Brit-slang does to your sentences?
  10. People buy the newer CoDs, Halos, ect. because they are good games. Often better than their predecessors.
  11. At college, I'm without my 360 so my game-library has been completely destroyed. They only games I have on my laptop here are Day of Defeat (outdated, but fun) and Starcraft 2. So I go back and forth between the two.
  12. I like the track, contrasting the urgency of the voice with the surf. Where did you get the mayday? Stripped it from Youtube
  13. Hey guys, lately I've been messing around with Garageband/my mediocre guitar skills/creativity. I registered for a Soundcloud (essentially just a music hosting site). I've only got one track uploaded so far, I have no idea if more will come, but I figure if anyone else has music/sounds they want to share this thread would be a good place for it. So please, check out what I've done, contribute your own stuff, or just rate/comment/critique everyone else's stuff. soundcloud.com/krosa

  16. Well, I love college so far.
  17. LOL, how can you even make that claim if you haven't been a parent to a grown adult? Maybe your parents just didn't do a well enough job at parenting YOU as a grown adult, but my father's father is always there for advice, and help. Like when he lost his job, or when my sister became ill. My dad wouldn't have coped with those things half as well without his father to lean on. Little known fact: parent's are ALWAYS more experienced than their children and therefore can ALWAYS teach them something new. I'm sure my grandfather will teach my dad all about retirement, and relaxing on beaches, just as he taught him about college, marriage, and loss of a spouse.
  18. Hey Hurlshot, you can me MY parent whenever you want.
  19. Fourteen is also pretty young to be put in handcuffs and called a piece of s**t
  20. That's not a valid argument, and you know it. It's not valid to point out the opposite end of the parenting spectrum? I'll be honest, I'm a bit surprised that everyone here is willing to end the guy's career. Do any of you have children? It isn't an on and off switch, it is a permanent change of consciousness. Ask your parents. I don't think anyone is arguing the fact that interfering was a good idea. The way he did it was stupid. There was no reason to handcuff the boy. Let's put it this way: Using handcuffs is a power given to police officers. Abusing this power would be using them in a time that doesn't call for it. The cop used his handcuffs in a time that didn't call for it. Transitive property, he abused his power.
  21. Hurly, a teacher threatening you is a lot different than a man with a gun handcuffing you and telling you you're life could essentially be over.
