Bin Laden is dead
Well, it's your prerogative to decide when you jump down people's throats. Since we are going on about people's thickness, could it be possible to object to the way something is said, as opposed to the message itself? It's my prerogative to understand that not everything said on something as informal as a message board should be taken word for word. Congratulations, you successfully argued the least important part of that post.

Bin Laden is dead
You are either grossly underestimating the amount of Europeans in this thread or are displaying the behaviour you accuse others of. Again, if you're too thick to see the difference in what I was referring too, that is your problem and not mine. Did I jump down the throats of anyone when they grouped "Americans" together as celebrating his death?

Bin Laden is dead
LOL at you for lumping all Europeans together. I didn't? I never said "all europeans". Americans are fat and stupid. Yeah, who needs to use "all". I was clearly referring to the Europeans in this thread, if you're too thick to realize that then that's your own problem.

Bin Laden is dead
LOL at Europeans halfway around the world criticizing Americans for celebrating the death of this scum. To put things in perspective I've grown up 15 minutes from New York City. My father watches the Towers come down from the roof of the Forbes building in which he worked for many years. My family knew a few people who died, many more who were friends-of-friends who died. On the day of the attacks, I heard nothing from my father for well over 12 hours, feared the worse. I watched my mother cry as they came down knowing that parents of children I went to school with worked in those buildings. Are any of you aware what it is like to be told, as a 10 year old that your mother or father was killed in a terrorist attack? Are any of you aware what it is like to TELL a 10 year old that their mother or father was killed in a terrorist attack? I cannot imagine the hatred I would feel towards that man had my father or mother died such a meaningless death at the hands of a coward who deliberately kills civilians. Is the killing of bin Laden that important in the grand scheme of the war on terror? certainly not. There are others. It is not over. Is the killing of bin Laden that important to American families that were destroyed by the actions carried out from the mind of this man? Of course. To say otherwise is stupid of you. This is a psychological victory and brings closure to thousands of families affected by this man's actions. Why the **** SHOULDN'T I celebrate the death of a horrible human being? The world is a better place without him. Get off your high horses.

Only got more exciting. Seems like these kind of games weren't going the Shark's way in years past...maybe this is a sign they've got it in them this year

NHL
I don't know. I'd be rooting against them in Crosby and Malkin were in (getting bored of them, really) but it's exciting to see these other guys prove themselves, so they have my support until Crosby returns.

I spent about an hour bitching at my cable company because the game wasn't being broadcast. I'm listening on the radio now. JOEY PAVS Sweet! That's his 3rd OT Goal of his career. truly one of the best playoff performers in recent years.

Rangers won a cup more recently but still, Montreal > Rangers post season performance is important, even if its just for the fanbase. you know why no one is watching the devils right now? b/c they didn't make the playoffs. gotta keep your team on the map if you wanna succeed in the future.

What you did today
Your fingers will hurt less and less as you develop callouses on your finger tips Is my guitar a decent one? Seems solid and sounds nice to me but I know next to nothing about such things. I don't know much about Yamahas but it should be fine for what you're doing. Good guitars are overrated.

Didn't mean to imply that he was hit from behind. You're not getting the point I'm trying to make. Of course the turnstile makes a difference. I'm saying that people who argue that this hit doesn't deserve a suspension because if it was anywhere else it would have been a nothing play are wrong. It doesn't matter what happens if Chara rubs out Pacioretty on the other side of the ice because that's not what happened. You don't (not) punish people based on what could have happened. You make your decision based on what did happen. Once again: "If you cause a player to be injured, then you have to be responsible for the play that you're involved in, if there's any carelessness or recklessness in it." Are you saying that you don't think there was any carelessness or recklessness on the part of Chara in that play? When the puck was a good 35 feet away from the play? No, I'm saying that it was reckless to hit him with the puck 35 feet away, so he should be punished on the grounds that it was a late hit. A penalty for rubbing someone out along the boards is a 2 minute minor. Not a suspension.

pro tip: (assuming you're playing the full-barre F chord) pull the guitar towards your chest with your other hand, this makes it easier to press down on all the strings.

Deraldin, the turnstile makes a difference because he would have simply been rubbed out along the boards if it was in a different area. Getting rubbed out along the glass doesn't cause injury, it's probably the most common hit in hockey. Chara did just that, road him into the boards, but because there was the turnstile, his face hit that instead of just getting pushed into the glass like what would happen if it was on the other side of the ice.

NHL
The location makes a difference because if the turnstile wasn't there he would have been simply ridden into the boards, probably wouldn't have even been a penalty called on the play.

The issue with this hit is the turnstile, that's all. Chara made a late hit (and was penalized for that, right?), it just so happens the late hit came in the worst spot on the ice. I don't think he should be punished for it either, but holy s**t that was a scary hit.
