  1. But then again, look at Britney spears now. She's a joke. Nobody takes her seriously. You raise a good point, but you can't necessarily compare an album to a game. But even if you can, millions of people have gotten over Britney Spears and fed her albums to the garbage can. When a game or a company produces several titles that get good reviews, make money, and stick with the fans over a course of time, that's where you have to admit that they're doing something right. I for one loved KOTOR, it exceeded my initial expectations (and that's one reason I was disappointed in K2). K2 was good, but disappointing. It didn't live up to it's predecessor, IMO.
  2. True, but if a company or title is that popular, then that usually denotes that there must be something good about them. Millions of people don't buy a game if it's not any good. And the fact remains, Bioware has released a line of successful titles and hasn't achieved its status for no reason.
  3. In your opinion. My opinions notwithstanding, you can't deny that they are a popular company and have released several solid titles, KOTOR being the latest example. JE got great reviews, but it's financial success status is uncertain from what I've been lead to believe.
  4. Regardless of Bioware, there's really not going to be all that much to do on these boards until K3 is announced (assuming it ever will be). So mostly it's just going to be us helping out n00bs, posting fanart, or posting K3 suggestions. All I can say is thank god for the WOT section.
  5. Which is the only goddess, too. Congrats.
  6. No more pixie art? Oh well. Beware the True Sith...
  7. Yup. Not to mention that Sion and Nihilus had no problems whatsoever finishing her off, even when she was "powerful". I guess she intended that, too.
  8. But he could still feel the force. He could still use it. Why couldn't Kreia use it on him?
  9. Well doesn't that sound like a useful trick? So please explain how Kreia in one scene is too weak to stand up to Sion alone and then has the power to kill three Jedi Masters at once? And if the exile wasn't truly cut off from the force, as Master Vrook says, then wouldn't that mean Kreia was wrong in the end?
  10. No crap. But your last post seemed to be something that YOU specifically made up or assumed, not the devs themselves. There's a big difference there. @JMD: I already know all about the ability to mask your presence in the force. But that is not the same thing as being entirely INVISIBLE. And I'll ask again: why does Kreia not seem to be able to use this ability to defend herself any other time? And if you can say it's perfectly alright for Kreia to be able to do this, why not just go out and say it's okay for Bastila to do it on Taris as well?
  11. You know that for a fact, or because you made it up?
  12. There lies another contradiction in the story. If other Jedi have been cut off from the force in the past, why didn't they die, either? If cutting off someone from the force was the equivalent of a death sentence, why does it bother to make a distinction between the two? Simple answer: because cutting you off from the force doesn't kill you. What Obsidian did contradicts the SW universe to begin with. So why all of a sudden is Kreia able to kill all three of them by just "cutting them off" from the force? Also, why couldn't she use that technique on Sion or Nihilus, the ones who betrayed her? Same thing goes for her supposed stealth ability. And further more, one of the masters even says in the game that the exile wasn't cut off from the force, he was merely deafened to it, hence he couldn't feel it. It's sort of like Beethoven being deaf to music: he couldn't here the music, but it was still there. You could say that he was lying, but then again, it would be more likely that Kreia was lying to you about being totally cut off from the force. She is Darth Traya, after all. By the way, in the game, you ask Kreia why on the planets none of the Masters mention (not see) Kreia. And then Kreia begins her philosophical babble blah blah blah. They never explained, however, why Kreia was able to stand right in front of the masters without being noticed.
  13. Listen smartass, the reason I mentioned Kreia and not the Star Forge is becuase what Kreia did contradicts the rest of the game. She could somehow avoid being detected by the Jedi Masters, but nowhere else. It was just a cover up by Obsidian to explain a fallacy in their writing. It's okay to make stuff up, but not when it creates holes in the storyline.
  14. They explained it with a half-ass, mediocre explanation, that's how. The SW setting has shown that the force can mask someone's presence to avoid detection, but not make them outright invisible. Obsidian made it up, in other words.
  15. Yeah, or it could just be bad writing. Remember, this is a game, people! The devs no doubt wanted to have Kreia's revelation a secret until the end, but didn't bother to write around to explain how Kreia couldn't be seen when she was standing right in front of them. It's no different from Bastila being able to walk around Taris without being seen by the Sith. Or would you say she was making herself invisible, too?
  16. You could go to far lengths to explain why Kreia couldn't be seen, searching for some hidden, Star Warsy explanation. Or, you could just go ahead and say what it most likely is - a fallacy in the writing.
  17. A short quiz, but kinda fun. I'm Ra. Congratulations!!! You are a proud member of the Egyptian Pantheon. Were you alive thousands of years ago, you would have helped build the famed Egyptian Pyramids. Like the sophisticated Egyptians, you value learning and logic. Though moving within a ponderous bureaucracy and priesthood, the pantheon of Egypt runs the gamut from river gods to sky gods to builder gods. Your grasp of art, architecture and stately beauty creates civilizations worth defending and expanding. You'll enjoy cruising the Nile in reed barges admiring the magnificent works of your people. Regal without being too remote, sun god Ra has both a reassuring and a terrifying aspect. Identifying with Ra puts you in the upper reaches of command but you also need to use his noblesse oblige (the obligation of the nobility) so that people's natural awe of your brilliance is tempered with assurance that they can come to you for aid and support in battle or in building their civilization. Don't let bureaucracy blind you. God Power: Sentinel. Protects a Town Center with four sentinels. LINKY apologies to CoF if I'm stealing his fire
  18. Smart Paladin 66% Combativeness, 40% Sneakiness, 61% Intellect, 55% Spirituality Valorous! Noble! Or possibly just a self-righteous jerk (but with the brains to keep you alive!)... You are a Smart Paladin! Paladins are holy warriors. They are valorous defenders of the light. Unfortunately, most of them are so ardent in their defense they tend to meet sticky ends faster than you can say "rampaging red dragon." Many people look up to Paladins, while others just consider them stuck up, overbearing, or self-righteous. Fortunately for you, unlike most Paladins, you're pretty smart. Which means that you're more likely to fall into the "admired" category, rather than the "obnoxious" or "dead" categories. Much like the crusades, you manage to combine violence and religion, though unlike the crusades, you add a healthy does of intelligence. You may be a staunch defender of the faith, a valorous champion of the weak, or the stuff that jihads are made of. Which ever one you are, just be happy that you’ve got the smarts to back it up and make it work. You scored higher than 66% on Combativeness You scored higher than 41% on Sneakiness You scored higher than 49% on Intellect You scored higher than 73% on Spirituality
  19. Oh, get over youself. Kreia somehow being able to turn invisible right in front of a Jedi master was just absurd, just as Bastila was somehow able to avoid dectection by the Sith on Taris. If you can say the same for Kreia, why not for Bastila? In K2, you could have Kreia with you when talking to the Jedi Masters and they didn't even say a thing. But then, on Dantooine, they see her and they're like "OMG!!! It's you!!! You must be killed!!!" Besides, she couldn't even avoid being detected by Sion or Nihilus. If Kreia really had that power, why didn't she use it any other time?
  20. When did I ever say that? Please, don't put words into my mouth, or it'll just make you look like the ignorant one. Maybe oil prices will rise in a democratic Middle East. But a democratic Middle East would be safer than a non-democratic one. So what if they weren't nearly on the scale as 9/11? Clinton should have acted on them from the start, not sit idly back and hope a few missiles would solve the problem. And what if the American population did support a war back then? Even if they didn't, it's likely 9/11 wouldn't have happened if Clinton had acted on it. But he didn't. I wasn't talking about Reagan, was I? Pay attention to what I say in my posts. But yes, Reagan, or any president for that matter, who did nothing about the threat are all to blame.
  21. I don't doubt that Poland has a high Christian population, but there are many reasons why they wouldn't strike Poland. For them, America is the "great Satan". We are supposed to be the symbol of all that is hated and evil to them. We are also the ones who get involved in affairs around the world, and we are the ones who attract far more attention. It's all about Politics, my friend. They're goint straight for the big dog. Striking America in our homeland is going to make a much bigger statement on their part than striking Poland. And as for Spain and England, they were attacked because of their support of the Iraq War. But I'll say it again, us being Christian isn't the sole reason, but it is a reason. Well, isn't that a revelation? So what? That only proves my point even more. Bin Laden, Al-Quaida, Al-Zarqawi, they're all the same. They claim they are fighting for their own freedom. The only thing they're fighting for is to help their own selfish cause of killing others. The only thing they care about is removing all outside influence from their country so they can remain a power in the Middle East. The insurgents in Iraq aren't freedom fighters. They are murderers. These people deliberately target other Iraqis, and yet claim they are freedom fighters? A democratic Middle East is a lot safer than a non-democratic one. If you look at the Middle East, the majority of the people there just want to live their lives, not get involved in some war against the west. However, the Middle East is filled with corrupt governments who repress their own people and spread anti-west propaganda everywhere. It is they, as well as these terrorists, that stir these people to hating America and the West. Well, Bush didn't do anything to stop 9/11 either. The difference between him and Clinton though, is that Clinton didn't do anything about Bin Laden even after he struck U.S. targets. Bush was the one who actually went into Afghanistan to hunt him down. We haven't caught him yet, but he did far more than Clinton ever did. My main gripe, however, was that Clinton criticized Bush's "lack of action" when he didn't do anything himself, either.
  22. Yeah, well these people aren't fighting for "freedom". You can't always say that good can be evil and vice-versa. Sometimes, there are clear distinctions between the two. It's not always relative. <_< What if I said the guy stealing that eggroll wasn't wrong? "

  24. Well, we are a majority Christian nation, whether you want to admit it or not. Many of these Islamists view the war on terror as a crusade against Islam. If you don't believe me, just look at their statements. Radical Islam views Christians and Jews as perversions of the Islamic faith and mandates that its followers carry out Jihad against them. That's a fact. Regardless of whether you think so or not, a lot of their actions are religiously motivated. And I never said that was the soul reason, either. I merely stated it as one of many. Oh, get over yourself already. I meant that they had no reason they had to do it other than to SECURE THEIR OWN SELFISH INTERESTS. They have goals, but it's not the noble goals they want the rest of the Middle East to think they have. Clinton didn't do crap to stop Bin Laden. He launches a few missiles, and that's it. The reason I even bother to mention Clinton is that he had 8 years to do something about Bin Laden and didn't, even after the WTC was bombed. And then, the idiot starts criticizing Bush for not doing enough to prevent 9/11, when he mostly just sat back on his fat ass turning a blind eye toward Bin Laden.
  25. Yeah, but it's just rediculous to have Kreia right in front of Master Vrook and not have him notice her. Same goes for any other Jedi Master. It's just as bad as having Bastila walk around Taris unnoticed by Sith. And don't even try that crap about "masking her presence". That ability doesn't make her invisible, it just hides her presence in the force, making it impossible for others to detect her through the force.
