And the world will continue to be that way as long as people like you hold on to that mentality. Just because there is death, pain, and misery doesn't mean we have to accept it. Life has taught me that humans have the power to make the world a better place. Only by doing good will good come about in this world. That is all I'll say.
-
That's a very skewed, and I'm sorry to say, selfish attitude to take. And this is one reason I'm glad people like you aren't in charge of the world. I don't know if you realize it, but much of the good that comes from this world is when people actually try to look after each other. And another thing, it's not always someone's fault whether they're weak or not. Helping is how the human race, or any species for that matter, survives. Helping the weak doesn't make them weak. They're human beings, too. Of course you have to be able to do things yourself, but you have to extend a helping hand or accept help when it's due. Ultimately, helping others is what helps make us human.

I guess nothing is, in your own little fantasy world of apathy and indifference. Me, I'm inclined to think those who bare the scars of Saddam's brutal regime are at least a little grateful that someone took him out. I think if you were living in those conditions, you'd be grateful that someone helped you out. And in case you haven't figured it out, some people can't help themselves. That doesn't mean they deserve to be ignored.
-
Well, I'm sure the victims of Saddam's torture chambers, not to mention those resting in the mass graves, will agree with you.

I'm afraid I don't have any of those games. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And you never will, for they're not available for PC. And wow, I didn't realize the Revolution was so small. Here's a size comparison of the three consoles:

Hey, my state is one of the hardest hit from this war, how do you think I feel? And this war is many things, but Vietnam it's not. For one thing, Vietnam was a hell of a lot worse casualty-wise for us. And the Iraq war is much more of a war for freedom than Vietnam was, and unlike Vietnam, some things over there are actually improving.

Hence, the reason I didn't buy X-Box when it first came out, either. I tend to look at the titles available for a platform rather than the platform itself, which I'm sure a lot of people do. By the time I got it, there were plenty of new and upcoming titles available for it which I knew I wanted. And besides, if I hadn't waited, I'd be stuck with the original controller instead of the controller S for it. BTW Gabs, how does Soul Calibur III run on PC? What about Halo 2? Or Resident Evil 4, for that matter? ^_^

Well, at least you give reasons for your viewpoint, unlike those who say stupid things like "Consoles are for kids, PC's are for adults".
-
When it comes to sims, you don't need a story, Kafty. I was thinking about picking up this game once I finished a couple other new ones I currently have. How well does it run, anyway? I have Sims 2 on my computer but it tends to be very skippy. My computer's also an ME and is 4 years old, so that may have something to do with it.

Actually, the religious background of the movie didn't mean that much to me. I mostly looked at things like acting, plot, accuracy to the book, characters, special effects, etc. And yes, I did like the books (but not really for the religious aspect), so that helped. Got a problem wit dat?

I agree with Hell Kitty and CoF on this one. All this talk about things like "consoles are for children, PC's are for adults" or "If you don't like (insert consol or PC), you're stupid!!!" is just idiotic. Honestly, it's just personal preference! If someone prefers one console over the other, it's their preference, it doesn't make them childish or stupid. And it's both stupid and childish to say that PC's are for adults and consoles are for kids. WTF? There's an age distinction now? When did this happen? There are plenty of reasons to want to use any kind of gaming platform. Some people may prefer PC's because of the games, downloadable content, multiple functions, etc. Some may prefer consoles just because of things like graphics, games available, or what each console may have to offer the gamer. It doesn't mean that if someone prefers console they're stupid or tastless, etc. Get a grip, people. Sure one may prefer a type of platform for given reasons, but to say things like "consoles are for kids" or "X-Box 360 buyers are all stupid" is just stupid and immature in itself.

I actually really liked Narnia. I'd give it an A-. I'm going to see King Kong this Friday. So far the only real complaint I hear is that it's just too long. Also, Dodgeball (got it for Christmas on DVD).

Doom 3 Just got it for Christmas. My only gripe is how dark the game is. I know, it needs a scary atmosphere and all that, but I'd like to be able to see where I'm going without always having to switch to my flashlight. I also love/hate how the enemies tend to jump right in your face when you least expect it.

No "real" weapons for me, just machine-made items. Here's what I do have: Anduril Narsil Uruk-Hai sword Katana Tai-Chi (like a katana, but a little longer) Battleaxe Multi-function katana (includes an attacheable spearhead, throwing stars, throwing knives, and blunt striking object, all built into one item) triple-ball flail nunchucks I did meet this one guy who sells real katanas, blacksmith-made, and can actually cut. I'm considering getting one in the future once I have the money. Until then, I'll stick with the cheaper, easier-to-care-for ones.

Obsidian should accept some of the blame. a) They didn't have the guts to stand up to LA and ask for more time in the first place. b) They're the ones who gave us the bad writing (not to mention the ending, for which Chris Avellone did claim responsibility), poor storyline, recycled worlds, etc. I blame both.
-
Why doesn't it exist? Because you said so? Just because something is made canon doesn't mean another ending doesn't exist anymore. <_< <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Like it or not, it doesn't in K2. Bastila appears no matter what. So all you Bastila haters can shove it. :D And for crying out loud, it's one "L"! It's Bastila, not Bastilla. <_< Speaking of which, there's really no excuse for killing Bastila unless you hate her, since there's a way to save her even if persuasion fails. But yes, the exile isn't the last of the Jedi. Bastila was in hiding the whole time.

I'll second that vote for the revolution. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Down with the Revolution.

Darque makes a point. Just look at the PS2 and X-Box. Both can play DVD's.

KAMEHAMEHA!!! GALIK GUN!!! DESTRUCTO-DISK!!! DBZ was good right past the Cell saga. After that, it just sorta went downhill.

KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
Dark Moth replied to Fionavar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Actually, most people out their still prefer K1. Writing, storyline, and recycled worlds aside: 1. Many think the influence system was poorly executed; sometimes to the point where people actually preferred the K1 system. This should only be done if reworked. 2. The only real examples of that are Dantooine, Dxun, and Telos to a lesser extent. In K1, you could do that with Manaan and Kashyyk. 3. Again, many would disagree. Some think the strong storyline were the games' stronger points. 4. Actually, no. K1 and K2 took about the same amount of time for most people. In fact, if you look at worlds like Dantooine and Korriban in K2, they were actually very small. -

Sword collecting is fun. :D I got into the hobby last year. Hence the reason I sometimes get edged items for my birthday or Christmas. Most of the stuff is for display only, so the edges are dull to begin with, so in some ways it's safer than having kitchen knives in the house. -
Of course.
