Yeah, so could Jolee Bindo, Bastila, Malak, Juhani. In other words, it's a game, so one can't make conclusions based on that.

It also has to do a lot with the mindset of the Vietnamese and Americans. The Americans, in their stereotypical views, thought the "g**ks" would fall easily. But in reality, they have a tenacity that we did not, and maybe still do not understand. We Americans tend to mope about "America's Longest War". Deep down, they were laughing at us. It took them hundreds of years to drive the Mongols out, many years (I can't remember how many) to drive the French out, and then we come along. To them, by then it was just the same old stuff. We Americans as well as many western nations sometimes tend to be more sensitive than other nations when it comes to losses. Don't get me wrong, I'm upset by casualties as anyone would be. I'd like to think it's because we place a higher value on life. Any amount of casualties is bad, IMO. But we wept and moaned over the loss of our soldiers, but they were losing many more, and yet still could out-endure us. So in many ways, Vietnam was doomed from the start. That's one reason why the opponents we face in the Middle East today look at us as a "paper tiger". They look at our actions in the past, and believe that we'll turn and run with our tails between our legs once the casualties start to get to us.

What new games are you looking forward to?
Dark Moth replied to Haitoku's topic in Computer and Console
Hellgate: London and Starcraft: Ghost. Geez, I've lost count of how many times that game (SG) has been postponed. Wasn't the bloody thing supposed to be released like two years ago? But at least they're releasing it for the old X-Box platform and not the 360. -
We could hope. Some of the smartest people I've met are "independants". We really need more of those. Also, it would help if the American people would actually truly learn about their candidates, rather than just getting their info from TV news and political advertisements. If it were up to me, TV political advertisements would be banned. But alas, it's not. Hell, many Americans would rather watch American Idol than learn about what's happening in this world.

Yeah. Me, I can't stand people who vote for candidates simply based on idealogies. Usually, I try to look at what the person stands for and what he/she plans to do. I admit I'm a registered Republican, and that's cause I'm more comfortable with some of the "conservative" philosphies, but it really comes down to the individual. For example, there are plenty of people on the right side I can't stand. *cough*Limbaugh*cough*

I try to avoid watching TV news. Usually the best sources are newspapers and magazines. And even then, it's best to get your news from multiple sources. Better still, get it from the "neutral" sources and the biased sources, so you know how both sides of the spectrum think and argue. Knowledge is power.

It was pretty good. As usual, the book is better.

K1. This is probably the best K2 has done in a poll so far. Usually K1 outnumbers K2 by around 2 to 1.

Yoda, no contest! This shouldn't even be a debate. <_<

Who said I was making a funny?

Might as well, since it'd be the only action he gets for a looong time.

Hi. Sorry to break this to you, but I don't think the RPG is even going anymore. But if you really want to find out for sure, you could just PM the thread starter.

The twist in Unbreakable happened at the very end, and IMO was actually pretty unnecessary. It's where you find out that I actually saw the twist in The Village coming. So far, I think that was his weakest film out of the four. His new one coming up is The Lady in the Water. Who knows how that will be.
-
Unbreakable Done by the same guy who did The Sixth Sense. I love M. Night Shymalan's films. Sometimes his use of philosophy and "plot twists" are fantastic. The Village was a bit of a letdown, though.

Actually, there may be some truth in that. It can be argued Darth Nihilus was the most powerful force user of his time, despite being an utter pansy when it came to fighting him. Even without Nihilus, Nomi Sunrider and Exar Kun both could have been more powerful than Revan. I think a lot of people (including Obsidian devs) tend to blow Revan's power out of proportions. If you go back to K1, Revan is powerful, but isn't the uber force-god many make him out to be.

Mmm...Calax sure is tasty.

Why are the cannons on French tanks able to pivot 180 degrees? So they can see behind them while they're retreating! Yuk yuk yuk yuk yuk...
-
What do you call 100,000 men with their hands up? The French army! For sale: French rifle. Never used, dropped once. HA! It never gets old! It never gets old!

Silence! You'll hurt the ritual! Haw haw haw...

Screw France. They're useless. All they know how to do in foreign policy is say "I surrender!" in German and "Help me!" in English. j/k

I prefer the X-Box controller S more than the PS2's. I don't know, but the PS2 one just doesn't feel right. Perhaps it's just its size.

Maybe I'm confused here, but did you not just do the exact same thing in the post immediately preceding his? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was not insulting him. More like very sharply criticizing him for what he said. But honestly, when someone calls everyone who follows some sort of religion a retard and/or lazy, would you be surprised if someone got defensive? Also, I was referring mostly to the first post he made, not the one I had just quoted.
-
Nice. Criticizing someone's beliefs is one thing, but downright insulting and degrading others for what they believe is wrong and only makes you look like an idiot. It's just a testament to your lack of maturity and desire to understand. How old are you? Anyway, in case you don't realize it, it only makes yourself look bad. People have their own beliefs, and some have rather good reasons for following their beliefs. It's none of your business to pass judgement on billions of people worldwide based on how they choose to live their lives. If I said something like "atheism is for morons and as*holes", you wouldn't like that, would you? Then don't do the same to others.
-
Hee hee. Atheists such as yourself make me glad I'm not one of you.
