yeah. I think it'd be nice if Valve upped the overall number of zombies per horde event (well except for one or two that seem to spawn like 8 hordes over the span of 5 minutes... Gas station I'm looking at YOU!) because it always seems I hear the horde sound go off and the horde is dead in five seconds from hunting rifles killing them all in one shot.

The PS3 Thread of Butterflies and Lollipops!
Calax replied to Llyranor's topic in Computer and Console
... is it just me or have a lot of new developers started posting? Anyway, I rented (checked out actually) Killzone 2... it looks REALLY REALLY good, and the gameplay is better than Halo (controls feel a TINY bit off... I keep pressing the L1 button to Iron sight but that's actually the melee button). I do like their attempt to do cover mechanics in an FPS as at least somewhat new. -
the new one just dealt with deleted saves I think.

... I liked the old one... this one looks like cammy from street fighter 2

got 22 jokes, caused world peace, tim retired from all the dollar bills thrown at the stage... and people passed out from laughing too hard.

I honestly can't think of a reason for zone restrictions... except to prevent americans from getting their hands on Japanese games that might actually be good once in a while. And preventing an unlocalized version from making it in austrailia or some thing because the unlocalized version is too violent or sexual for those "We take a bandwagon and go way to far" guys... but of course the people who actually want these games will just mod and buy from amazon.

*checks the update* looks like they primairly fixed crashes, but I do wonder why they limited saves to 1000 slots.

Moore won't ever watch anything based on his work. He's said several times in various interviews that he'll NEVER EVER watch a movie based upon his works

saving a basket full of newborn infants from a pack of rabid wolves in the backcountry would be an interesting story. the ladies might dig it. it's all about the ladies either way. taks Heh, or you could scare people off by saying you got it in a bar fight with an army of bikers.

yeah, I kinda expected that :D

Ulic Qel-Droma's Fall to Darkness
Calax replied to Nihilus5078's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
yeah... somebody needs to go through and create a cannon bible that usually throws out video games that don't jibe with other media. Clone emperor didn't bother me TOO much. I thought Dark Empire II was taking it too far but I did like bringing him back for DE1 and having Luke play the new vader. But the video games and NJO stuff has just MANGLED itself... Video games have mangled whatever period they were set in usually (well... most of the "milking" tie ins with the new trilogy anyway) and NJO was extremely inconsistent about how powerful the vong really were (go from barely being killable by jedi, to being slaughtered en masse by troopers), and then decided to make the galaxy really stupid (death to courescant, yavin IV and half the planets you ever heard of!) I did understand the need to generate an overall story arc but the one they came up with was horrid. -
nah, more because you said something stupid and so opposite from the general consensus (like saying the sky is brown) that it's funny every single time. There is no general consensus, and don't call me stupid again. I didn't call you stupid I called what you SAID stupid, there's a difference. And when most publications write that Carth is "The simpering idiot Rebel soldier" it can safely be assumed he's not a good character overall.

This actually sounds more plausable than the one I got...

you NEED glucose to provide fuel for your brain (look it up on wiki if you're not convinced), not "different types of sugars." fructose does not substitute for glucose as it digests differently. processed sugar is sucrose, which breaks down into a glucose molecule and a fructose molecule. carbs do the same, i.e., they break down into simple sugars. taks this is why when we're all total cyborgs (a brain in a box if you will) we can survive on like 1 candy bar for a day

I've just been hating the fact that when I went to war with the ruskies they started sending single unit stacks all through my territory hitting my resource locations, I managed to hunt them down, but between those and the stupid gentlemen that the poles have turns take FOREVER to go through.

I don't remember anything about that. It was just a dude who betrayed you. And toward the end most average thugs need two shotgun blasts to the face to die... I don't remember the ending of 2 but I do remember the ending of Max1 was you using a grenade launcher to knock a radio antenna down on a helicopter.

Meh, I could have done better too. I actually whipped that sucker up in about an hour and didn't really bother to edit it :D

quick factoid about my fic, Sarna is actually the NPC that you booze up then steal from in K1 on Taris.

Glen Cook's most recent series is great. The only fantasy I've enjoyed in recent years. I am waiting for the third book pretty anxiously. I have read some of the very early Black Company stuff and found it rather flat. Cook seems to ahve improved greatly as a writer between then and now. The honestly I loved the first and third novels the most (followed closely by the last). In the I want to say 7th(?) book (she is the darkness) he actually has one character criticize another characters prose and writing style. The first Company novels are VERY different in terms of tone and content than the latter. I had more fun honestly with the first novels as the humor was... different (it's hard to explain, but the later novels did away completely with the magical brawls between Goblin and One-eye, which were FANTASTIC fun). I donno, I guess I really like Croaker as annalist over the other three that have "written" their tales. I still need to pick up instrumentality of the night and have collected most of the Dread Empire (his first series overall). He does have a weird thing for 9's tho (Dread Empire and Black Company there is a group of 9 guys who run the world... well not so much in Black Company, they only run ONE world)

I... sat around and read more of Water Sleeps for the day. Then I went digging around for information on the author (my personal favorite which I've been trying to get you guys to read for friggen years but nobody takes me up on it) Glenn Cook, and found that he's gonna try to put together two more books for Black company... And I've also got a couple of other series that I need to pick up by him.

Interesting that he's afraid of the very thing he likes (Kotor1 being an example of everything bioware)
-
he might have dropped off the grid (wouldn't that be interesting, he's the one getting chased down by the spectres this time :D) but we don't know until we play the game.

It's supposed to have a story arc that goes through all 3 games, and you're supposed to play Shepard through them all, unless they changed their minds, which is doubtful. Two things, one the story arc is probably gonna be stopping the reapers once and for all. And two, the teaser says that Shepard is DEAD. Of course it's a teaser but still it's a lot more concrete than supposition.

weren't the first two games PRIMAIRLY Console?
