I've seen a video where a guy asks two scientologists some questions and they immediately get defensive and say that the only people who question the church are those with something to hide. Then proceeded to call the questioner a pedophile because that's "what he looked like". I'll try to dig it up

Best awkward moment at any establishment involving animals, especially with young children present. nah, best awkward moment involving animals has to be the time that we went to the Monteray bay aquarium and saw the whale there with an erection and listened to the biologist try to pass it off to about 50 school kids.

Nah, I was 16 when I quit, but before that if it got to the point where it wouldn't go down I'd just use it as a stabilizer.

Having played with Guerlla I've gotta say he kinda hit the nail on the head with the building physics. you can run around and knock out almost all the supports except for a pair of toothpicks and the building still won't come down. Or it'll be supported by one I beam in one corner of the building. This can lead to some SERIOUS frustration on the demolition missions where you have to blow up a building with this many items and that much time.

But those games are based almost totally around providing a large portion of the game for a micro transaction or subscription. So if WoW went to that model, you couldn't use general chat, the auction house, raids, and your ability to level would be significantly diminished so you might as well get the sub so you could actually PLAY most of the game.

we also need to set it up so that any form of enjoyment (sex, taking pleasure in a kill, whatever) leads to darkness.

so wait, they're doing a show about one of the slowest moving series' I've ever read? Not saying the series isn't good, just that it takes AGES to get started and then keep going after certain events.

Krookie, that's just it, what's the difference between Catholisism, Islam, Judeaism, the flying spaghetti monster, Lucifarians, scientologists, norse, and greek belief systems? Other than the deities and the age of the religions and the number of adherents, NOTHING. As much right as you have to call the Christian church NOT a cult, others have to call your church a cult.
-
The only difference between a religion and a cult is size. Thus the fact that we can force the flying spaghetti monster to be taught in schools if we feel the urge.

well, I'm just happy I got out of swimming before the sharkskin suits became major. I really don't liked the idea of putting pressure on the boys to go faster.

The Force Unleashed 'Ultimate Sith Edition'
Calax replied to Purkake's topic in Computer and Console
The big thing about TFU was that the developers ended up changing thigns so that stormtroopers could stand up to several lightsaber slashes. Also it was short, and one of the arguably most badass things you could do on paper, got turned into a mediocrity (yanking a death star down from the sky). The boss fights were pretty awesome, but the battles with the mobs on the way there felt boring and often ended with you doing your best to stay away from the heavy guy while kicking the crap out of the peons. If they'd done it with a God of War style (here's a billion enemies, they can't kill you alone, but there's a billion of em!) fighting situation rather than, say, prince of persia minus the acrobatics, I'd have loved it. But as it is you come out feeling a little bit under powered, due to the aforementioned lightsaber thing, and then the fact that there are more "anti-jedi" stormtroopers around than should be plausible. There are two stormtrooper types SPECIFICALLY desinged to nullify one of your attack styles... (force lightning, and your saber's inherent breaker) and they're usually paired TOGETHER meaning that you're basically left with only having your push powers and those rarely work very well. -
Hey, now that you've played it for a bit, how does it stack up to CoH? pretty well, more action oriented and some of the design philosophy REQUIRES you to dip into other power sets (becuase of the classless system) but ultimatly it's pretty dang good.

Well, Ill be a monkeys uncle, but it works. Went into Naxx for the first time since changing up some talents and following the recommended rotation and sure enough my DPS jumped to 2100+, then a little later was at 2200+. This leads me to the inescapable conclusion that I dont know what DPS actualy means. I always envisioned DPS as basically starting when you pull the boss/mob and stopping when the body hits the floor. Take that time and divide it into the total damage done over that time and voila, theres your DPS. So I would try to pour as many spell into a battle as possible, heavily relying on my faster casting spells, which flies in the face of the above method that favors slower casting but higher damage spells. So, can anyone give me a quick and dirty breakdown of how DPS is actually calculated? While Im tickled pink to have drastically increased my DPS it irritates me that I dont understand the mechanic. Basically it's they count up the raw amount of damage you do while you're alive, then divide it by the amount of time it takes to do that damage.

Actually, it'll not just boil the atmosphere and oceans but it'll also swallow the planet when it goes into it's Red Giant Phase.

ok, so my number was a little high, but I think that most people spend more money on video games than they realize.

No, if they cut profits like I said, they'd be at the point where they had enough money to operate... and that's it. No expansion, no development of new products nada. You'd pay for the upkeep of the current game bugs and all and they only work enough that it stays in operating conditions, not fixing exploits, bugs, or balance. and KingofSquid, How many games do you own/buy in a year... bet it's more than 4.
-
He's not protesting or "whining", simply stating a fact. Most of the pricing schemes mentioned by nihilus were unfeasible because they'd require either A)a much larger user base, on WoW scales B) The kindness of people or C) expansion and too much risk for reward. Honestly, count up how many games you've bought over the past year and price them out and I'm betting you find you spend about 2k on games each year. Honestly, if anyone is whining it's you guys. If you're gonna come up with ideas, at least make them feasible/workable within the industry without a significant drop in revenue generation. And don't say "cut profits to 0" because then the company wouldn't have ANY reason to even MAKE the game.

who's to say they didn't verify the sources? I mean we don't exactly see everything they told us. I only know what I read in the papers. They might well have verified the sources as existing. In which case a) my sources have been misleading me b) the contrary sources have missed an opportunity to attack their opponents for deception Well, I'd guess the paper that released this is one of those that is very bias, thus they have a very specific bent on how things work and they don't give the opposing view a slot in their publication. And I wasn't saying that I believed the entire thing was factual, only that a lack of public confirmation does not necessairly mean a lack of confirmation overall.

My guess is that they're gonna retell the story of how the orcs got to Azeroth in the first place. Given that most people who play WoW don't know exactly how it happened because they haven't played Warcraft 1.

Did you actually play WoW? As a rogue I use Mutilate, which is a powerful double attack with both weapons that lets me build up combo points, so that I can use those combo points to unleash very powerful single attacks. In WoW the combat choice is not just "attack." I am starting to doubt you even played the game. Given how woefully incorrect you were about a ton of the Star Wars MMO stuff, I honestly think you just like to make **** up. Yes, I did. You think this bull crap is made up? it's a lot more than a dumb game. Games like that dont appeal to me very much. Heh, it was only about 5 minutes before I started getting bored. I'm confused by your video. What does it have to do with your comment? Ok, this is a log of one of the raids I was a part of. Over the thing I used 20 abilities. My three highest number of strikes for the night were Heroic strike (read Crit Strike), standard Melee, and Shield Slam (instant strike). I used Heroic Strike 809 times over the course of about four or five hours. That log shows damage done, damage taken, healing done, healing taken, and breaks down the abilities used by everyone. It also shows how active I have to be during the fights. For example on Kologarm I had an active time of 97.7% of the fight. Meaning that I was hammering a button of some kind for 97% of that fight. For Auriya i was more active, and my DK pal only had a .2% down time that entire fight. Kotor's battle system is kinda "sit there and wait, if you want things to go faster hammer the crit strike button to que up attacks and wait for them to all work themselves out before queuing up another set".
