Where did you find the escaped criminals? I looked for them at Czerka's base on surface and found nothing. In regard to your question, I've seen some threads about the Redemption quest before and it's a loose end quest, so you really can't complete it.

Kotor II reached PC gamers while Jade Empire didn't. Maybe that's why Kotor II edged out Jade, even though Jade seems to have had better reviews. They are both great games, so it's a tough call.
