  1. @ Xard: By EoE, do you mean the episode where everybody is dead and Asuka and Shinji are left as Eve and Adam? Still, there are so much left unexplained. There is no closure to the relationship between Shinji and his father. What the hell is going on between Rei and Shinji's dad anyway? Also, is Rei the gateway to God or what? Actually, I think the writers are just too lazy to close all the sideplots like Fuyutsuki and Shinji's mother, Katsuragi and her ex, etc., so they killed everybody. Anyhow, I only watched the series once and skipped some parts. I don't think I can watch depressing stuff like this or Grave of Fireflies more than once.
  2. Here is how it all started.
  3. O Fortuna - Carl Orff http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSEGqAk8YJM Couldn't find the original version on youtube.
  4. Err... I know NGE is voted number 1 anime in Japan but I still don't get it. The whole series is too depressing for my taste. Besides, its plot development is horrible. It piles suspense upon suspense until the whole story disintegrates under the weight of it all so it had to close with an ending that leaves everybody saying WTF. I guess maybe some people like it for the same reason that broken statue of Venus is considered the most beautiful. I agree Kenshin is a great series. Its manga has more mature contents though. Also, did u guys know that Kenshin's voice is done by a woman? Just a random fact...
  5. I didn't like it. Never got used to the interface and the camera. It didn't help that my system handled Oblivion just fine but is super laggy with NWN2.
  6. Sry I had to kid, cuz' I don't know any anime that's gonna top Bebop, especially for non-Japanese fans. If you like basketball and want a good laugh, try Slam Dunk. (3rd time I mentioned it, so you know I am a fanboy.)
  7. Sailor Moon! It's a must-see for anyone who is not blind. Ever since a friend introduced it to me, I am absolutely hooked. It combines fantastic actions with important lessons of life. If you don't love Sailor Moon, you don't love anime. Period.
  8. It may seem strange to Atheists that religious people would worship an unseen God that cannot be grasped through reason; but it is equally strange for the religious to see that Atheists would believe that what cannot be sensed must be unreal or doubtful and one must worship only which is sensed and understand the world through his/her five senses only. Free will gives us the power to choose however we wish to perceive the world around us: to be an Atheist, a Bible-freak or agnostic; but science is but an art that has no will of its own. It is certainly not science that provides us with this power, so I wonder why seeking proof of God through means beyond science would be stupid?
  9. I enjoyed it mainly because that the story and acting are not overshadowed by it's action sequences. Also, it doesn't hurt that Liam Neeson is part of the cast.
  10. Blood Diamond. Very good film and very realistic according to rumors.
  11. True story of Jesus Christ.
  12. ^ Hey didn't know you are an anime fan. You should watch Berserk. Angels, Demons, Bible-bashers (literally), Crusaders and etc... lol.
  13. I think the answer to that question is the same as why would any teacher teach a student anything he already knows. All the religions emphasized on peace among man because man has yet to learn that lesson. Also, I think most religions prohibit killing on the personal level but killing on a national level through a system of law or wars is a more complicated issue.
  14. I think it's implemented this way to create the effect that those emoticons are bursting out of the web page and I kinda like it ; or is it just a glitch and I need to be back on my medication? I do hope the Christians here answer my question about the metaphor of the vineyard tho... http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?s=...st&p=742673 p.s. Anyone knows where do I find the Post ID for a post?

Nope. Ronnie got second and lost on symmetry. He's not retiring though.
  16. I agree. Nobody likes Goliath but this thread is about Hinduism so let's discuss Christianity somewhere else.

That's Jay Cutler the new Mr. Olympia and my current goal. (I am a couple hundred pounds short.)

Don't worry about drinking. Just sign up for a fitness gym. Here is a motivational picture for ya.
  19. Depends on your relative position. If you are from the east say China, it's more occidental; and if you are from the west say Europe, it's more oriental; and if you are from the opposite surface of the earth say America, you become very confused... Btw, I think India generally is considered South Asia (along with Bangladesh and Nepal and a few others) instead of the Middle East.

I don't know. How would you determine whether an activity is a sport then?
  21. Just out of curiosity, do Christians believe that the suffering of the Jewish people might be related to their persecution of the Messiah? If you read the metaphor of the vineyard from NT, when the vineyard workers killed the 'son', the 'lord' came back and destroyed them. I wonder how you would interpret that one?

They air CS and Halo tournaments on the sports channels. It's a hand-eye coordination sport...
  23. uh, actually, as far as i've ever heard, christ agreed to sacrifice himself so that the rest of humanity would not have to... very false analogy (and otherwise flawed logic). not that i believe in the whole christ/god thing anyway. taks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Perhaps he meant that for Christ to cleanse our sins with His blood, He must first acknowledge the ritualistic powers behind a human sacrifice, which IMHO still sounds a bit  . If you accept Christ as your personal savior, His blood washes away your sins; and if you are born before His time or born on Mars, well, tough luck there, mate...
  24. ^Wow. You were either bored out of your mind or have superhuman memory... Either way I am impressed. Here is a link to the manga: http://groups.msn.com/BerserkManga/volumes.msnw?Page=3.
  25. You are correct. The manga isn't finished (which sucks ) and it's better than the anime. Still can't believe nobody here mentioned Slam Dunk. Guess basketball just isn't that popular outside of Asia... Well, if you are into football/soccer, perhaps Captain Tsubasa might be more interesting. It's another old but very popular series. (It's a kiddie anime though.)
