Casual forum atmoshere?
If I wanted a more contrived, and contradictory post, I do not think I could find it.

The Little Things That Got "lost In Translation"
The biggest advantage to the consular is not more points and powers. It is the access to the +3 DC to force powers. Uber Wisdom, uber charisma, and +3 to force DC, and few, if anyone could stand up to a consular. The only force powers you really need are kill, drain, force wave, plague, or any other semi-affeective power. Repeatedly force wave Malak, if he fails his save vs. stun melee "teh biatch." The scoundrel's sneak attack, paired with critical strike made it the unstoppable combo. Yes, volourn, if you thought skills were useful, we did play a different KotOR. Only thing thy were useful for was repairing HK47 to unlock his powers. Locks? Bash them. Computers? You get enough spikes to have 0 points. Persuade? Force persuade is more effective. Intelligence was the "dump stat" you forego to get more ability points, if you wanted to powergame.

The Little Things That Got "lost In Translation"
What does sentinel have to do with AC? I do not recall Sentinels getting an AC bonus related to their class. As for your Sentinel saving, I do not think any of the foes in KotOR were consulars, most, if not all, of them were guardian/warrior jedi. The fact that I had a scoundrel/consular who beat Malak without using a single healing potion, while the game was on hard, and Malak was the cheapest enemy I ever faced, shows me the consular's overpoweredness. Sentinel's strength were skill points, and immunities. Skills were worthless, so immunities is all it has.

Suggestion: Make a pure turn-based combat RPG
You must read slowly... or I read extremely fast... In NWN, I registered every over-head text display and all the combat notes, nearly every time. Many times, having, *critical hit* *sneak attack* and *knockdown* all flying overhead with my rogue, while I viewed the combat feedback. Granted the message you posted is longer, but it could stay there longer, and missing 2-3(at most, I figure) attack rolls, or savings throws sets, is not that major.

The Little Things That Got "lost In Translation"
It definately is not, the immunities it recieves are nothing in comparison to the BAB of the warrior, nor the force goodies of the consular.

Suggestion: Make a pure turn-based combat RPG
Like Volourn said, you could have multiple text windows, or an overhead text bubble.

This could be displayed in RT...

Casual forum atmoshere?
They weren't "treated like scum for no reason." The reasons were very good, and do not need to be discussed again. It wasn't the casual fans who were insulted either, at least none that I ever noticed.

Casual forum atmoshere?
I've had to point 2 people to the F.A.Q. in threads, and 3 more via PMs... thus far these boards are turning out to be a battleground, not casual. Hopefully Seraphim (whoever, and wherever you came from ) will keep things in line. Casual is fine, but having POOPERSCOOPER, "casually" throw the word "f*****" about doesn't make the forums casual, it makes them crass.

BRING BACK JESSICA!!!
I already addressed this. Feargus locked her up in his basement during her last visit. Why do you think she suddenly vanished from BIS? Blame Feargus.

Why have you come here?
I came here because it was another venue for me to spout off, and follow game development. Plus, I love this color scheme... but I am biased...

What Does It Take To Make Game?
Like I said, its necessary to make a GOOD game. If you guys (JDG, Zantetsukon), are going to quote me, at least use the whole [extremely short] post.

What is necessary to become a game designer?
I don't know of any european schools. There probably are. I know of at least 3 in USA which offer "Video game design and development" as a major/minor. I originally intended to attend one, but didn't have the time to apply for the loans necessary in time.

About Van Buren
Maybe, but not the part where he is asking fans to "give us ideas to use, and then charge you for."
-
About Van Buren
Yeah... why should I have to pay for a game I helped donate NPCs, quest ideas, or stories for? There is a difference between fan interaction on, say, combat options, and creative ideas, like writing.
-
Suggestions for future game programmers?
Some schools have courses designed specifically for game design. I know Fullsail has a degree program, where you earn a degree as an associate of science.

About Van Buren
Strange. I frequent a lot of game boards, and most of them don't give a flying rat's ass for their fans. Especially Ion Storm, Jowood and Eidos.. So for me it's a sign of greatness when a developer is actually taking time to listen to their fans and even ask for ideas from the community. I mean, after all it is us they're developing the games for. Who else would be better suited to come with constructive critiscism than the most loyal fans? And I really hope Obsidian turns out to be as community oriented as this Carsten is. I want some feedback from the guys in charge! I may have understated exactly what Carsten is asking for. He wants the fans to contribute stories, NPCs, and other ideas for use, in game. Not necessarily feedback on existing works.

Salutations devs
They have pictures of their parking lot somewhere on their server. Also featured in those pictures are a pair of cars engaging in uncany footage of their rarest of mating rituals.

The Little Things That Got "lost In Translation"
No they weren't. Scoundrel was probably the most powerful. You could easily powergame a scoundrel to have an AC of 44, dealing 100 points of damage each hit. *cough*Bandon's broken saber*cough* Even without the Bandon saber of cheapness, playing a scoundrel/consular could be insanely overpowered.

Will This Game Suck?
Whatever... **** :D Not funny... I'll point you towards the F.A.Q. What the F.A.Q.?

I'm hoping....
The dude is called Jeremy Soule Same guy who did KotOR, and Morrowind. Best in the biz, in my anti-humble opinion.
