If it's on a downspout, shouldn't that have stopped it icing up? I'm confused.

What you having for dinner tonight?
Picked up some fresh baked rye mix bread. So having that with butter and fresh pepper. Nothing more needed.

User Interfaces and Al Qaeda - a solution
It is my considered opinion that we could reach an accomodation with Al Qaeda if they left off killing people who offended their worldview, and instead ruthlessly pursued DESIGNERS WHO PUT 'HELPFUL' FEATURES INTO INTERFACES, LIKE ZOOMING IN AND OUT OF A DATABASE BECAUSE THE USER HAS CHOSEN TO ENTER A CERTAIN TYPE OF DATA.

Incidentally, I assume you've all read John Connolly. Hmmm... isn't that interesting. 'Connelly' isn't in the spellchecker, but Connolly is. This supports my suspicion that someone at Obsidian is a fan. My first hint was 'Arret' written on the butt of the survivalist's rifle.

What you did today
Meaning you're planning something on another planet? EDIT: My depression seems to be in abeyance since my back felt a bit better and I got some progress work wise. I don't think I can complain about my depression if it gets better on a rational basis.

I concede the topic. ~~ As an aside i was watching 'Assembly' yesterday. Chinese film, 2007. The producers clearly wanted something like Saving Private Ryan meets 9th Company. But the reason I mention it here is that there's a cornucopia of weapons shown. Thought it would amuse readers of this thread.

Malc I hope you realize that strip clubs are demeaning to women and against the principles of social justice I do frequent strip clubs sometimes, I actually enjoy partying with strippers. They are easy to understand and don't tend to complicate things. Its funny but when I first went to strip clubs I thought I had to save the girls from this "iniquitous" lifestyle . Everyone had a story about why they were doing what they doing but I realized later the girls were just reading my concern and attempting to connect with me so I would feel relaxed. If I now go to strip clubs I do best thing you can do, buy them a few drinks, treat them politely, chat about unimportant things and then pay them for the nights excursions. Keep it simple and don't try to over analyze things is a strip club Next week's lecture in the Bruce's Comportment series will be The House of Lords.

Again, you're assuming that the wound effect is the same from three separate shots as it is from three close together. I'm pretty sure that isn't the case. Jacketed rounds have a bow wave that can push soft organs and arteries out of their way, but if there are several in play at once ...ew.

I assume he's talking about the principle behind the H&K G11. Fire three rounds before the recoil from the first impacts the shooter. The G11 always struck me as such a good idea, rotating bolt, 3 round burst, lighter smaller ammo... I think it was just too far ahead of its time culturally.

What's on the idiot box... Part 2
Omar was 'oh right, the gay hitman guy' for ages when I watched the Wire, and he's about as distinctive as it's possible to get. It's just a personal thing how long it takes characters and programmes to click, and indeed whether they ever do. Well, that is how the writers made him seem, though. I mean what else do we know about him? he can carry off a flamboyant tie?

_IF_ there is a serious point to the double barrel it could be CQB/FIBUA/FISH. After all this is about the only job left for infantry apart from country walks while getting shot at. there's been a fair amount of muttering that 5.56mm kills, but does not incapacitate quickly enough. Swivel-eyed, furry chaps leap out from behind sofas at you and you want them to die immediately. Not even 2 or 3 seconds from now. I _suppose_ there might be beneficial (i.e. nasty) effects from having two 5.56 bullets go through you in close proximity. Although I'd have to wonder what would happen if you made the rifling spin them in opposing directions.

laptop requirement, help needed
Thanks. That's all helpful info. EDIT: I'm beginning to wonder if I should save the cash this year and invest the money in a personal trainer/physio.
