  1. In short: Bioware is giving business to Obsidian, so Obsidian will make their first 10$ million in the beginning of the next year
  2. The most important for a business are the clients. In game industry the client in fact is the publisher. When you have idea about a game, the most important is to find a publisher.
  3. Don't forget one very important detail - if you want the game to be completely different for LS and DS this means that you have to design two games instead of one. That is some doubling of development resources/time.

  5. It is not bad if we flame the developers from time to time in an itelligent and joking style that will make them smile - like a small tease. Right?
  6. As Adria Teksuni said, K2 is almost ready and is in testing stage. I think one question that was post by many people remained unanswered: the artificial intelligence of characters. I asked this question several months ago and John Morgan said "workin' on it". One weekend Akari said they are still not reviewing it. Taking into account that the stupidity of NPCs concerns the whole gameplay and impression, I would like to ask once again: are Obsidian going to improve this awfull AI, or at least implement some command like "follow me" as in NWN (BTW, very usefull command, because NWN characters are as idiotic as KOTOR ones).   7. IMO it is completely useless. In fact it even does not fit in StarWars universe and looks completely unrealistic.

  9. The idea of destoying box content when bashing is really great !! But about bashing all doors with a lightsaber... lets assume the lightsaber technology was not developed 5000 yr before.
  10. For a jedi armour is useless because of force restrictions. For a range fighter heavy armour is also useless because of dexterity limitations. It is usefull only for melee non-jedi fighter.
  11. In some old thread in this forum I mentioned that the most important for a software project to be successful is not the individual programmers but the management. I completely agree with you. BTW, your guidelines are applicable not only to mod making, but in many other areas.
  12. IMO, it is not necessary to add much more violance - this is not an action game.
  13. I vote for private conv, because in general all public ceremonies looks too kiddish.
  14. 1. Public ceremony means both ending in K1 2. Private conversations means something like the conversations b/n Luke, Solo and Lea after destroying the Death Star in ROTJ
  15. EnderWiggin is correct that it is unaxceptable to have avatar limit and no limit for the siganture - it is really rediculas to have half-screen signatures
  16. IMO they were not balanced and LS items were defenitely stronger.
  17. OpenGl 2.0 was formally launched on Aug 10. It comes with built-in shader language !! Let solute all opengl game programmers for the new gain !!

  19. Adria Teksuni, Let say K2 has 7-8 different location and will be completed in e.g. 18 months. This is approximately 2-3 months per location. Make your own conclusions how much we have to wait if we want new locations in addition to the implemented ones - the game will never go to stores !!!

Adria Teksuni, the idea to adjust dinamically the difficluty settings of opponents according to yuor level is excellent, but I am afraid in K1 it is not implemented correctly: if you play Tat, Kash, Ma, Kor is much more easy than Kor, Ma, Kash, Tat. If the game is actually dynamic, there should be no such difference.
  21. If you want to make a story like K1, where the planet order is not important, the following problem arises: As your character levels up, it becomes more and more powerful. If all planets are easey, then later playing will be boring. If all planets are difficult, then early playing will be awful. If you make some planets easy and some difficult, then you destroy the idea of random order. How would you suggest to solve this probem? Nik.
  22. The story allowes so many possibilities, that we could discuss it a whole year.
  23. The idea is OK, but it means one more year of designers work.
