Anyone playing the Witcher 3 on the PS4? Anyone know how to skip the intro video that plays every time the game loads? It's pretty long and I'd rather not have to watch it every time I load up the game.

I picked up Witcher Wild Hunt, but my PS4 had to do a system update and my 'net speed was being an ass today and it took forever. So I haven't had a chance to actually play yet. Instead, I went back to finishing up my PoE play-thru. Feels like I'm nearing the end.

Is Borderlands considered an MMO? Because that's basically what Destiny feels like, to me. Borderlands seemed to have more things to do, as well. Destiny was fun for a time, but seems kind of bare once you've spent a bit on it.

On to Chapter 3 in PoE. It's funny, my party has no trouble against enemies I come across during the main story quests, but still get its butt handed to them in random encounters while traveling.

If someone has faith in their religion, a video game's interpretation of religion shouldn't shake that faith. If someone doesn't believe in God or in religion, a video game's interpretation of religion won't suddenly change or alter that view. If someone will think that religion is bad because of what's portrayed in a video game, that person has issues. It's the same kind of person who thinks shooting people is okay because Call of Duty said so, or that running over hookers is okay because Grand Theft Auto says so. Bottom line: stupid people are going to be stupid regardless of what the video games tell them, and smart people are going to understand that it's only a video game.

People take content in video games way too seriously sometimes.

Still playing PoE. I'm enjoying it so far. It does remind me of the old IE games (which I guess was the point, huh). My character's finally at a level where he has access to decent abilities, plus my stronghold's at the point where I'm making money. I'm still trying to get the right mix in my party. I've met a fighter, a paladin, a priest, another cipher, a wizard, and a druid (I think he's a druid), a ranger, and a chanter. The fighter and paladin are always in my party because they're my main melee fighters. The wizard's also always with me because he brings the pain. The last constant is the druid for a similar reason as the wizard, but also because he can shapeshift and add to my melee crew. So the last spot in the party rotates between the priest, chanter, ranger, and cipher. Kudos, Obsidian, so far.

Wait, what? Isn't it not released until the 19th?

I expect the new Mass Effect to be announced as a full on third-person shooter, with much more autodialogue than the last installment. I also expect that the story will somehow completely screw up whatever lore the previous 3 games established.

One thing hasn't changed from the old Infinity Engine days. I still suck completely at combat. Still playing PoE, and I've found exactly one ability/spell/whatever that my cipher does that's any good. The one that paralyses them so the rest of my party can hack away while the enemy can't move. If that spell fails, or if there's too many enemies to stop them from swarming, my party gets munched.

Still playing PoE. My party just got wiped out by four feral druids the first time I met them. The constant lightning storms/hobbling thing they do decimated my party before I can even do anything. I got my revenge eventually by doing the whole "lure one of them after me and take them out one at a time" method. I will say though, none of my party's area effects seem to do even a fraction of the damage that the enemies' does. Toss a fireball? Knock out 1 health blip out of 5. They hit me with a lightning storm? Watch my party's health go down to nothing in next to no time.

Maybe I shouldn't have chosen Cipher as my class in PoE. In combat, I'm finding the only useful ability (so far) is the one that paralyses foes for X seconds. The rest of the fight, my fighter and mage do most of the damage.

So far in PoE I've run into 3 recruitable party members. I haven't turned down any of their offers to join me. Two of them are pretty useful, but the third I haven't found much use for in combat yet (though I'm still trying to figure out the various spells/buffs/etc.).

Started playing Pillars of Eternity. Time to see what all the fuss is about.

Agreed. The Witcher 2's combat was solid. The Witcher 1's was just clunky. Hit ... wait for flaming sword icon to show up ... hit. Rinse, repeat.

Finally finished the Witcher 1. Solid overall game. Not a fan of the combat, though. The three different forms (group, fast, strong) didn't always work as intended (my guy had a tendency to stand and not strike when I tell him to). Also the enemy always got a hit or two in right after a cutscene before I even had chance to unsheath my sword. Not sure how much of that story will be considered part of "canon" going into Witcher 3. I can't even recall any of the events carrying over to Witcher 2.

Even without Yrden, just running around like an idiot until enough time has passed does the trick. That's what I attempted to do at first, but I went through like 2 or 3 cutscenes of Geralt saying "if I want to kill her I better do it soon", but gave up because I wasn't sure if it would just keep saying that until I actually killed her.

The save system is absolutely garbage. One save, and it's an autosave. Mine got corrupted when I was already far into the game, and I haven't bothered to go back to it because I don't feel like replaying multiple hours just to get back to where I was when the save got corrupted. This is why I absolutely HATE it when developers use the autosave feature rather than letting people manually save at any time they want. On save corruption later and you're back to square one.

Finished Chapter V in the Witcher. I couldn't figure out how not to kill the striga (read the hints online after I'd already done the battle). Oh well, I'd already secured her "sex card" prior. No big loss.

Took a bit of a break from Witcher 1. I really don't know what it is, but it hasn't kept my attention like Witcher 2 did. When I do play, it keeps my attention. But sometimes it feels like I've got to push myself to start playing it.

The extra weapon slots in the Witcher 1 seem like such a huge waste. I never use the axe/dagger/etc. non-witcher weapons, so they're only there to earn me some orens. Speaking of which, that's one area the Witcher 2 greatly improved: loot and finding weapons that are actually better than your starting weapons. In my Witcher 1 play through, I'd been using my same silver sword since the beginning until I got that one in Chapter IV, and I was using my original witcher steel sword until I bought the weird named one from the blacksmith's son in Chapter IV.

Started Chapter IV in the Witcher 1. It's ... kind of a strange jump from the stuff in Chapters I to III, and then what I'm doing in Chapter IV. I'll probably see later on how it connects, but right now it's like I started a brand new story and am on the prologue/intro level.

I hate the Kikamore (sp) boss battle at the end of Chapter III in the Witcher. Mainly it's due to the poor controls. I had a hell of a time turning my character around and using Aard to knock down the pillars. I'm just way too used to using a console controller. Using the mousepad feels incredibly awkward to me now.

The first Witcher game isn't drawing me in as much as the second one did. I can't even pinpoint exactly why it is. Maybe the story? Maybe the awkward combat? Maybe it just seems more tedious to move around the map? Whatever the case, I like the Witcher 1, but I loved and could replay the Witcher 2.
