It's uncanny how difficult a time Arno has just dropping off a balcony railing onto the balcony so I can enter a second floor open doorway. He either tries to leap up to the roof, or drop down to the street below. Stupid wonky AC control mechanics. My character is the worst assassin ever because he gets stymied by doing something a 5 year old kid could do.

Yeah, the atmosphere is nice in the game. Although the crowds in some parts are a bit too thick, IMO.

These Nostrodamus puzzles or whatever they're called are annoying me in AC: Unity. The riddles are so vague, and nothing is labeled on my map to let me know what buildings I'm close to (other than landmarks -- but the riddles don't always coincide only with those).

Speaking of Man O Wars, i found they really sucked in AC Black Flag. They had the most powerful shot (did most damage), but they were soooooooooo slooooooooooowwwww to fire that by the time their turn to shoot came around, either the battle was already over or they'd taken so much damage that I spent a fortune repairing them. The only thing they were good for was their high cargo capacity.

Yeah, I officially hate the new combat mechanics in AC Unity. The block button doesn't really work well, and if you get into a fight with a group of enemies at once and one of them has a gun, you're done. The main story is pretty cool and how you can customize your character is an interesting feature, plus the quests where you're solving crimes is an interesting twist. But some stuff just drags it down, IMO. Largely the new control scheme.

No news of any sort of DLC yet? A bit surprising. I thought ME3 had already announced one of their DLC this long after release.

Still playing AC Unity. The blocking/dodging mechanic seems more ungainly than in Black Flag. I'm having a hell of a time getting the timing down against those heavy axe wielding enemies.

The one on the left looks better. More detailed/defined. it's the same scene with the same graphics at different light conditions (midday vs late afternoon). its not like each picture showcases a different version of the graphics (like PC vs PS4) I know. I just like the look of the one on the left better.

I miss the whistle ability from Black Flag to lure enemies toward you when you're hiding around a corner or in a bush.

The loading times in AC Unity are killing me. I can't even fast travel to a different part of the map without having to wait (what seems like) a minute or so for it to pass the loading screen. Kind of ruins the continuity of the story when a cutscene plays after you finish a memory -- long loading screen -- then a new scene opens. I also hate how difficult it is to lose pursuers when you have a group of enemies after you. They run just as fast as you, and there aren't that many bushes, haystacks, or carts of hay to hide in. So far, one of my least favorite entries in the AC series.

As visually attractive as AC Unity is, the game play falls behind previous installments, IMO. For one, the new control scheme is just weird. Aiming and shooting a gun is needlessly awkward. There's also a lot of texture popping, for some strange reason. I didn't notice the same from Black Flag. If it's the "better graphics" that are causing it, then they're better off going with more basic graphics and no texture popping. Finally, the load times are ridiculously long. Particularly after playing a main story sequence.

I'm one of the folks who preferred Infinite to BioShock 1 and 2. Really enjoyed Infinite, was kind of meh about the other two.

Decided to pick up AC Unity. Very early on, but I'm not impressed. The graphics are the only thing I like so far. They've completely changed the control scheme, the stealth aspect is more annoying than fun (barely anywhere to hide in now), and for whatever reason, the sound seems off when outside of cutscenes, like they're all talking in an echoing hallway. Sneaking around and hiding in bushes or haystacks was fun in Black Flag. Sneaking around and hiding in mobs of people and nowhere else is not in Unity.

Finished AC: Black Flag. Gotta say I found it the best AC game by far.

^Is it very story driven?

I'm enjoying AC: Black Flag for the most part, but man, these eavesdrop/tailing quests are annoying. The eavesdropping ones in particular are just stupid when you fail the mission by not staying without range of them talking, even though they're walking away from you in a compound full of enemy soldiers and there's scarce places to actually hide.

Been a couple of years since I played the Witcher 2. Which was Quen, again? The one that's sort of like a wave and knocks enemies back or down?

Someone mentioned the balance between story and open world, and I think now that I've had time to digest it, that's my biggest issue with it. Had they cut down on the open world area maps, maybe reduce it by two or three (did we really need two desert maps, two "forest" maps, etc?), and instead used that time/resources to flesh out the main quest a bit (maybe add another string or two to further flesh out Corypheus or to build up to the Royal Ball in Orlais instead of just instantly getting an invite), the main quest would have felt more complete and the open world stuff wouldn't have felt so overwhelming.

New Vampire RPG in development.
GhostofAnakin replied to GhoulishVisage's topic in Computer and Console
It's not a made up word as one might expect so the devs could claim copyright on the IP. They would be hard pressed to prevent the creation of another Vampyr game. I prefer Vampir actually, that's where a certain famous one comes from. Nosferatu - Romania Upyr - Russia Yakshis - India Lampir - Bosnia yara ma yha who - aboriginal australian vampir - bulgaria obayifo - ghana callicantzaros - greece bajang - malaysia baital - india incubus - pan european jaracara - brazilian baobhan sith - old gaelic scottish mulo - serbian vampyr - slavic asasabonsam - ghana ekiminus - assyria kathakano - crete aswang - philippines vampira - philppines danag - philippines mananangal - philippines encantong dugo - philippines capre - philippines tianak (vampire baby) - philippines mandurugo - philippines pontianak - malaysia canchus - peru ghoul - arabic kukuthi - albanian lugat - albanian dakhanavar - armenia bluatsauger - germany nachzehrer - germany mulo - gypsy alukah - hebrew kappa - japan kyuketsuki - japan strix - latin vampir - hungarian upirina - croatian drakul - serbian sukuyan - trinidad and tobago upyr - slavic ukranian What I gather from this is Philipinos can't even decide how to spell it. ----- With regards to the game, I'll put this in my "keep an eye on it' list. Anything RPG-related is going to pique my interest. -
In the process of trying to defeat the 4 legendary ships in AC: Black Flag. I'm having trouble with the one where you have to face 2 man-o-wars at once. I know they supposedly have less HP than the other ships to make up for the fact there are two of them, but I can't seem to last against both their barrages. I finally destroy one, only to have barely any HP left for the final one, which is still sitting at full HP.

What in particular do you hate about the combat? While it certainly wasn't a strength of the game, I didn't find it the least bit distracting or discouraging. I viewed it the same way I viewed combat in games like PST, KOTOR, or any number of otherwise good games with average to below average combat.

I've got a couple of those stupid pirate songs stuck in my head after listening to my crew singing them while cruising for ships to pillage and plunder.

https://psnsoesettlement.com/ I wasn't a PSN user back then, but I got an email informing me I'm getting an additional month of PSN+ because of the outages around Christmas time.
