  1. An add-on's an add-on. In the context of how it is priced it's not. A full expansion that gives 20+ hours of story content shouldn't be priced the same as a DLC that only adds a large area but whose story content is lacking. Obviously the above is an assumption on my part based on how the core game's story and quests were lacking. I'm assuming that Bethesda won't suddenly do a 180 and actually come up with a rich, in depth quest(s) for the DLC that they didn't for the core game. So assuming the DLC follows along the same path as the core game quests, I'd say you *can* compare that to their titles that actually did add good content and say it should be priced differently.
  2. Shivering Isles was $30, Dragonborn was $20, and Far Harbor is the largest area they've done for an add-on. Hearts of Stone had barely any new playable area. It's not parts for your robot companions. It's entirely new customizeable companions and a questline. Wasn't Shivering Isles considered an expansion rather than just story DLC? Kind of like the difference between Dragon Age Awakenings and Dragon Age Witch Hunt? Largest area, perhaps, but how about content? If it's anything like the core game, it's probably going to consist of a big new area to explore, but with the most bare bones quest(s) associated with it.
  3. Back to Destiny. The Dark Below was incredibly short. It felt more like those random raids/strike force missions than an actual expansion. Also, do I ever suck at FPS. My character is level 28, with level 20+ weapons. The Dark Below has level requirements between 10 to 16. I was getting my butt kicked quite a bit.
  4. $25 for the story content DLC? $10 for upgradable parts for your robot companions? Witcher 3's first expansion, Hearts of Stone, only cost $10. Ridiculous.
  5. What a day for my internet (and cable tv and telephone) to go down. I wanted to try some Destiny with the expansions, but now I need to download the update first and that's going to take about 4 hours. So much for any gaming tonight.
  6. What the hell is with those DLC prices? Anyone who pays those prices for that crap deserves constant crashes to desktop.
  7. To be honest I feel I've already been beta testing for them sooo I'll pass I beta tested the main game, too. I should get all future DLCs free.
  8. This snow storm we're having must really be bad. My game was supposed to be delivered today, was even listed as "out for delivery", but I saw a notice on the order page saying that it was being re-scheduled for tomorrow. Maybe the mail man got stuck in a ditch somewhere. Hope he's okay.
  9. Decided to pick up the DLC/expansions for Destiny. Dirt cheap at the moment, and I enjoyed Destiny's core story enough when I first played it to give it a go.
  10. Instead of DLC, Bethesda should just flesh out the stuff that's already there but that was under-utilized. That Vault you visit where you pick up Curie, for instance. Add some major quest line, instead of ending on curing that kid of his addiction. Do something more with the Gunners' stronghold. Etc. The game just felt like they had too many ideas to fit into the development cycle, and ended up releasing a game where 50% of them just fizzled.
  11. Gah. Just saw that the second expansion's release date has been delayed. Now I'm going to have to put off playing the first expansion even longer, as I intended to get both at the same time and have one long run through, rather than playing through each individually.
  12. Yes, but it's a separate campaign. It will import your character from the base game, though. Does it have the option to import a "default" character if you don't have a save and want to play it anyway, like most RPGs do?
  13. You don't have an old save file? Can't remember if I deleted all my old saves to clear HD space on my PS4 or not. I might. Does the Following take place after you finish the main story?
  14. I'm not sure if they sell a physical copy of just the expansion. I started playing it today. It's super fun. Driving was the one thing from Dead Island I really missed not having in Dying Light. Running over zombies never gets old. The new area is quite big and has a lot more open spaces than Haran. The buggy is super fun to drive too. I'll probably end up getting it anyways. I just don't really feel like playing through the core game again just to get to the expansion stuff. I loved the game as a whole, don't get me wrong. But there were a few quests, particularly some boss fights, that made me want to throw the game in the trash. I'd rather not play through those again.
  15. I'm not sure how I feel about Gaider because I'm not sure how much of BioWare's drop in story telling is his fault.
  16. I was going to pick up Dying Light: The Following, but it was out of stock at Wal-mart when I went there. A part of me is glad I didn't. It sounds like the edition they're selling includes the base game. I don't want the base game. I have the original. I just want The Following expansion.
  17. The Dying Light expansion is set to be out tomorrow. Anyone know whether it's an actual physical package, or if it's just a downloadable DLC?
  18. Finished the Jack the Ripper DLC for AC Syndicate. A bit disappointed in the reveal of who Jack was. I thought they were hinting at a different character that would have actually been a bit cooler.
  19. I actually have had a few of those type of pauses as I've been playing through the main game. Surprised you never ran across that. Maybe I was lucky? It never happened to me during the core game. Only when playing through the DLC did I run into problems.
  20. Damn it, looks like I won't be able to play this.
  21. Decided to get the Jack the Ripper DLC for AC Syndicate. So far, it's a bit unstable. I had a couple of carriage chases where the game would pause for like a couple of seconds, then resume. And some of the cutscenes, there's no dialogue. Just character animations and subtitles describing what the character is saying.
  22. I've been running around finishing off the "Secrets of London" collection in AC Syndicate. I've found they're a lot easier to find than previous games. I've only had to look online for help for one item. Usually I'd end up having to look up over half the locations of the items.
  23. Finished the main story in Assassin's Creed Syndicate. I keep going back and forth on how I feel about it. On one hand, I thought the missions you undertake with regards to each sequence were fun. On the other hand, I'm not sure they flowed from one sequence to the next as well as previous installments in the series. I also thought Evie was the more interesting of the two characters, but at the same time thought a lot of her missions in the story weren't as good as Jacob's. Evie was all about the piece of Eden and the Shroud, while Jacob was more about the present -- taking back London from the thugs and Templars. In the end, like with all AC games, I can't complain. I enjoyed it and was money well spent. I'm just not sure where it ranks among the previous games.
  24. One final mission in Assassin's Creed Syndicate and then I'm done the main story. Jacob's more of an ass, but Evie's part of the story is so boring. "Oh, looking for a piece of Eden. Oops, it slipped through my grasp again in a silly manner because that way we can be strung along through all memory sequences".
  25. I'm onto the last memory sequence in AC Syndicate and the story still makes very little sense in an overarching way. Each sequence just feels like a "okay, now you have to kill THIS templar", rather than the story actually building on itself. Not to mention the main bad guy doesn't seem to be doing much of anything. In previous games, the bad guy seemed to actually be building toward some goal. In Syndicate, I'm just killing his lieutenants each sequence while he rages afterward in a cutscene.
