  1. What's the best (read: easiest for people like me who suck at combat) class to play in PoE? I tried a Cipher my first (and only) time through, and it seemed ... rough.
  2. More Destiny. The Taken on Venus are the hardest of the bunch, largely because they shoot those three exploding balls of light at you even when you kill them. Although the ones on the Cosmodrome can be annoying when they put up their force field. I can't find a good legendary (purple) helmet. I have one, but my Light level has gone up a lot since I got it, and now I have a blue helmet that's got better stats. I need, I believe, 120 Legendary marks to buy one from the Warlock leader. I'm currently sitting at 75.
  3. Playing in the regular Crucible versus low level opponents is so much less frustrating than going up against all those Level 40+ players in the Iron Banner. My team won all 3 matches today, earning me 35 Legendary marks (one was worth 15 for some reason, the other two 10). I finished at the top of the scoreboard 2 out of the 3 matches. Finished 2nd in the other one.
  4. Yeah, so apparently the Iron Banner stuff gets reset tonight at 1 pm PST. So much for trying to finish up that stuff. I'll probably play one match of PvP per day to get the 15 Legendary marks, but that's about it. It takes way too long to go up in reputation among the MP-centric factions.
  5. I'm too busy getting my ass kicked to have time to click on someone. Speaking of the Iron Banner, it sucks that the reputation with the faction resets each week. I'm finally up to a decent rep with them that I can buy good gear when I gather more Legendary marks. Problem is by the time I get enough Legendary marks, the week will be up and I won't be at enough rep with them to buy them.
  6. I'd like to know what kind of shotgun my opponents are using in PvP. Seems while I'm unloading on them with my auto rifle, they just run up to me and shoot me once with their shotgun and I'm dead. Meanwhile, whenever I try and shoot someone with mine all it does is take down their shields, they move around a corner, and I'm done.
  7. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for how rewards are given out post-match in multiplayer. Three times tonight I was the *only* person on my team who didn't get a reward. One time I finished second, one time I was third, and once fifth. The one where I finished 2nd was even more annoying because the dude who finished last on the team with a horrible K/D ratio got a purple boot engram.
  8. Through a lot of luck, I was able to achieve the Iron Banner bounty that rewards 25 Legendary marks. That, combined with some old gear I didn't use and my previous marks, allowed me to purchase a legendary chest plate and elbow/arm guards. Not a single piece of my equipment is less than Year 2 legendary now. What a frustrating experience that was, though. Now I'll go back to SP and not bothering with MP stuff for a while.
  9. More Destiny goodness. I played my first Iron Banner match tonight. I decided to give it a go since one of the bounty rewards was 25 Legendary marks. It's going to take some time and a lot of luck though. 13 matches (which is doable if a bit tedious) and 7 wins (which will basically be luck of the draw ending up on a good team). I have enough Legendary marks to buy a purple engram from the dude on the Reef station, but I'm worried about wasting it on an engram that might end up turning into nothing more than a strange coin or some gear I don't need. I've had that happen before, getting stoked about finding an engram for equipment I didn't yet have, only to see it turn into something else.
  10. Sorry, i forgot that PoE doesn't have matchmaking on the middle and highest difficulty. And i believe you have to order until Saturday evening by the gunsmith to get stuff by wednesday. And later and you can't do it anymore or it counts as a new week from tuesday reset on. And yes the state PVP is in is why i'm not playing Destiny these last 3 months, but since you "have" do suffer through only 10 minutes of one match for marks it should piss you off that much. I've played a bit of PvP. I've actually done surprising well. Especially if I use my (mind going blank here on the class name) Stormchaser? Storm something? class. When my special power is full, I can take out multiple opponents quite easily. The problem is they put a limit on how many games you can play and earn legendary marks. I played 3 games today, and now it doesn't give me legendary marks if I play more. What's worse is the legendary mark thing is carried across all characters on your account, so I can't even load up my secondary and third character to do the PvP and earn Legendary marks. I've reached my max. And speaking of gear, I found my FOURTH pair of legendary boots that are level 40 and Light of 240 or more. Yet I'm stuck with a blue body armor that's not even level 40 and whose Light rating is like 215 (which lowers my overall Light score). That and crappy elbow/arm pads that are also blue and lower than level 40.
  11. So I decided to try some MP for Destiny to earn myself some Legendary marks (since that seems to be the only easy way to do it). I remembered why I hate that game mode. I'm unloading on the other guy, his shields get down to like half, he shoots me twice with his shotgun and I'm dead. Yep, not unbalanced at all. On the plus side, I earned 15 Legendary marks for getting my ass handed to me.
  12. I'm still in the process of playing through the Taken King story mode. I've been doing other side content between tackling missions. I tried to do some of the higher level Prison of Elder missions (I know it doesn't give you legendary marks), but they always make me solo it. The only one where the game seems to actually match-make and find me 2 human companions is the very easiest level. I've got a Gunsmith order currently placed, but I have to wait until next week. Not sure why since I placed the order on Wednesday. Apparently I missed the deadline by about 10 hours. I've also gotten bad luck. For instance, I rarely get legendary drops. But in the rare instances I do, it always seems to be a duplicate. Right now I've got two level 40 purple boots, but am stuck with a level 38 (and low defense rating) body armor and elbow pads. Likewise I've got two level 40 legendary primary weapons, but no legendary special weapons.
  13. That's what I meant. The daily story mission. I'm kind of in a catch-22. In order to play those tough strike missions, I need better gear. But in order to get better gear, I need to play those strike missions to earn legendary marks. I don't know. For a game that's all about grinding and finding better equipment to keep your interest, they make it really difficult for you to do that unless you invest ridiculous amounts of time into the game.
  14. Are you level 40? Yes. I've tried dismantling some of my old purple gear that's way too low level, and all I get are ascendant shards and some cash (and weapon/armor parts). And none of the bounties or tasks seem to reward it other than daily hero strikes (which I never do).
  15. I'm tempted to pick up Primal. How is it compared to previous Far Cry games?
  16. Decided to try my second character in Destiny. I forgot that I hadn't finished the main story with that character, so I have to go through the rest of it before I can do the House of Wolves stuff.
  17. I can't find any Legendary Marks in Destiny. So annoying since all the good gear in stores requires a huge amount of them.
  18. If Destiny is going to insist on making you play in 3-person or 6-person teams to complete certain game modes, then the least they can do is actually have it easy for you to join random groups if you don't have people on your friends list to play with. I wanted to try some of the Crota's Bane 3-person levels tonight, but every time I attempted it they made me play solo. Ridiculous.
  19. I wish more of the factions in Destiny had bounties you could do for them to raise your reputation with them. Instead, they're forcing you to do MP (either MP itself or those 3 person strikes).
  20. The only Let's Play video I've ever watched is the one where Stefanie Joosten (motion and voice actress for the character Quiet) was playing MGSV. And I certainly wasn't watching it for her gaming (though she's not half bad -- err okay she's better than me).
  21. They should have called it Little Girly Man mode.
  22. Started the Taken King in Destiny. Now whenever I do any random "patrol mission" that involves taking out a single enemy, they're all level 40 all of a sudden instead of the level the rest of the enemies were prior. I'm getting absolutely smoked by this one wizard whose friggin' force field will NOT go down.
  23. I also can't seem to gain any reputation with factions other than the engram dude and the Vanguard faction. The rest seem to require doing a bunch of MP stuff (of which I can't do as mentioned above). Wish there was more SP content that gives you a chance to raise your rep with those other factions so I can get access to their gear. And on that note, I can't seem to find legendary marks or epic shards (or whatever they're called). I don't mind having to grind, if it results in something good. But it seems like all I get from grinding are a bunch of blue items or emotes of life tokens that do nothing except raise the level of your equipped gear. I used to like doing those community event things like destroying that tank in the Cosmodrome because you'd at least get an ascendant shard or something. Now I get 5 emote of life.
  24. I can never do the raids because none of my real life friends play Destiny, and I can never seem to find 6 random people online to do a raid with. One thing that sucks about being high level but playing through these DLC/expansions is the rewards are way too low for my character. I just finished the Crota expansion and got a level 10 weapon for my trouble. Doesn't help me much when I'm level 39 and common green weapons do more damage than that thing.
  25. Finished the second DLC for Destiny (the Wolves one). It was better than the first, but still felt more like a strike mission than an actual expansion (which is what it was called). Also disappointed that I never actually got to interact with the Queen. Just heard her voice at the very end, but never actually got a face to face meeting (or cutscene). Only the Taken King is left.
