I'm curious to see Far Cry Primal. Being a caveman could be fun.

Having reached the maximum level, and thus maxed out all the available skills, doing missions to earn XP has become useless in AC: Syndicate. They made it way too easy to reach maximum level, way too early. The story itself also feels tacked on. Each "chapter" doesn't seem to really build upon the previous one. Previous installments tended to do a better job of this. It's a fun time waster, but now that I'm almost 90% of the way through I'm finding my initial impressions were off.

More AC Syndicate. I think the loyalty meter for my associates is broken. I've been doing a bunch of stuff for Ned Wynart, but his loyalty meter seems stuck at halfway between 3 and 4.

I really hate the carriage missions in AC Syndicate, especially when combined with the wonky grappling hook. I'm supposed to trail a carriage. It has to be done via rooftop, because running will just see you fall too far behind the carriage and cause a "mission fail". You can ride in your own carriage for a bit of it, but you can't for the entire thing because there are stops along the way with multiple enemies who will spot you riding a carriage. So rooftops using the grappling hook it is. Problem is, way, way too often, the grappling hook icon (L1 on the PS4) doesn't appear for the ledge you want to traverse to. So you spend your time looking for a ledge that will work. And then when you get there, the climbing mechanics kick in and my guy does this jig as he tries to decide whether he wants to climb, drop down, or just look around. All the while the enemy carriage is moving further and further off. Such a frustrating mission. I was finally able to get past the grappling portions and get into a carriage of my own (past the point where there are blockades of enemies) and finish the mission. But it's one that I'll never want to do again.

I take back my original statement. I think I liked the story of the previous Assassin's Creed game better than Syndicate.

Still AC Syndicate. I should probably get back to playing the main story missions. After messing around with the side content for a while, my characters are up to level 9. The story missions I'm currently at suggest level 5. On a side note: I hate any missions/tasks related to riding on a carriage. Shooting enemies is near impossible, as the aiming is difficult and they don't ever miss when they're shooting at you with their guns.

So, Heroes Reborn's finale was as dumb as the rest of the series. I hate those "video game" moments, and of course, the finale had to feature that particular storyline prominently. And of course it ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, despite the fact that by all accounts, it was a one season-and-done.

I like using it in those Templar hunt missions, where you have to kill the lead guy, but the criteria is you have to do it without being spotted. I just shoot him with the dart, and his men end up trying to kill him (or he kills them all, then dies after the drug wears off). Voila! No one spotted me.

The hallucinogenic dart is like the "press x to win" weapon in AC: Syndicate. Especially in those missions where you have a large group of enemies and one of the criteria is to eliminate them all without triggering an alarm. Shoot one of their "heavies", and see him mow down most/all of them, then he dies of a heart attack when the drug wears off. Only mission, so far, that it's not effective in is any mission where one bad guy has to be kept alive/kidnapped.

I think this is probably why I'm not liking it. It just seems so incoherent, and often times, it feels as though nothing actually ever happens during an episode. It reminds me a bit of people who talk a lot, but don't really have anything interesting to say. They just talk for the sake of being heard.

More AC: Syndicate. Just unlocked the associates quests where you can hijack carriages. Fun stuff.
-
IMO, the depth of quests in FO4 fall short even in comparison to previous Bethesda titles.
-
Or it could have been that way had someone thought to flesh out the quest a bit. This one sentence sums up pretty much every quest/plot point in Fallout 4.
-
The historical figures in AC Syndicate seem more tacked on for name value than in previous titles. I don't know, maybe it's just me.
-
AC: Syndicate's main story seems particularly short. I'm already half way through the memory sequences and it feels like I just started the main story (been spending my time doing the side stuff).

Man, even after all these iterations of Assassin's Creed, and even after years of being able to fine tune and tweak things, the movement mechanics are still a bit wonky for me. Most of the movement is fine, but stopping on a dime when approaching a ledge and dropping down when the game keeps making me climb or do weird twirls is frustrating.

This one investigation mission in Assassin's Creed Syndicate is a bit annoying. Gotta search three areas, but with cops running around. And you're not allowed to kill them, so you have to sneak behind them and knock them out (or avoid them entirely -- which is difficult since there's a lot of them walking around a tiny area).

Assassin's Creed Syndicate's "level suggestion" guide is a bit confusing. I'll click on a quest and see it suggests I have to be (for example) level 4 or higher, but then when I go through the quest the end boss ends up being a level 6, which ends up giving me trouble since I was a level 4. Other than that, it's a fun game so far. I think I'm liking it more than the previous one set in France, I believe.

I played the core game, but I never did get around to playing the expansion? DLC? Whatever the heck the extra stuff was. Fun game.

Hmm ... Evie or Jakob. I can't decide which one to use. I've stuck with Evie for most of the time, but that's because the stealth so far has been easy. On more difficult missions, her stealth-focused gameplay (I know you don't HAVE to make her stealth) might start to annoy me.

Does anyone else find Heroes Reborn kind of boring? I can't put my finger on exactly the biggest issue (maybe it's the writing or the confused script that's all over the place), but it's nowhere as interesting (to me) as the other "super hero" TV shows out there.

I'm taking a break from the Nathan Drake collection. Finished the first two, but I'll play the third one closer to when Uncharted 4 is set to be released. On to Assassin's Creed Syndicate.

Yeah, the jovial banter is a strength of those titles. There is a good one in the 3rd game involving a water well. Don't want to spoil, but it is pretty hilarious in a corny, cute kind of way. I own a PS4 just for the Uncharted Collection, Uncharted 4(when it comes out), and Tekken 7 (when it comes out). I replay those 3 games from time to time. 2 is my favorite, but 3 is great as well. 1 was a solid game as the first in a series. Ghostofanakin did you jump into the pool on the roof of the hotel in Nepal? :D And 3 could have been much better if only there was no Hobbit movie, a release date set in stone 11.11.11 and some other things. :/ Marco! Polo!

Maybe it's because I'm comparing it to most video games that have absolutely awful dialogue that seems as though it was written by a grade 9 creative writing student, but the dialogue in these Uncharted games is quite good. A lot of little humorous exchanges between Drake and his companions. One in particular that I'd just played through struck me as just natural and genuine, acted perfectly by the voice actors, and even the character animators did a good job matching the characters' movements to the conversation. It's when Drake and Chloe run into Elena and her camera man. The part where Elena introduces herself as "last year's model" to Chloe and Drake's all, "Oh, you're so funny" in a sarcastic tone was great. I wish more games had the kind of natural dialogue that the Uncharted series does.

Obviously the game takes place in Japan. You've seen the size of the swords they deem as "normal" in Final Fantasy, right?
