  1. The Taken corruptions subside way too quickly in Destiny. It's especially aggravating when you're the only person on the map and by the time you've whittled the Taken champion's health down to next to nothing, they just disappear. Makes doing Petra's bounties more annoying than fun.
  2. Maybe you're just doing a good job of roleplaying a drunk Geralt.
  3. I can't seem to get Warlock chest armor that's brand new with the latest update. I've gotten two elbow/arm guards, and one Warlock band. But the chest armor eludes me (though my Warlock did earn a Hunter chest plate). On the flip side, with the Light max level increased, 300+ items are dropping like hotcakes now. I'm up to 309 Light now.
  4. Leonard Boyarsky = Donald Trump of the video game world?
  5. Destiny's update finally finished downloading. As far as I can tell, there's only three new tasks: One story mission questline for Variks, one Prison of Elders thing for Variks, and a very short Court of Oryx for Vetra (sp) in the Reef. The latter one simply yields a legendary speeder bike. I did manage to get a new pair of gloves and belt that you could add color to, but that's the only equipment I've come across that's new.
  6. This update for Destiny is taking forever to download.
  7. It's just a random Suros pulse rifle. I also have one titled "Apple of Discord" or something, but haven't tried that one yet in PvP. I just found that the damage was so low you'd need to hit a target 5 or 6 times to kill them, but because it's not full auto it's near impossible to do so with your opponent jumping around and hiding to regenerate his shields. At least the auto rifle, also weak in damage, could fire a continuous stream of bullets at the enemy and hopefully wear him down with the non stop damage. Destiny's PvP actually makes me miss CoD hardcore mode. At least that game, the person with the fastest reaction/best aim won the fights. If you saw your opponent first, if you were able to get a first or second shot in, you win. In Destiny, all I do is get frustrated because even though I have the better reaction time, even though I get the first shot (or 4) in, I still can't put him down because my rifles suck.
  8. I think I found a gun for PvP that's even more frustrating/terrible than auto rifles. Pulse rifles. The same horrible damage, but that shoots slower. I'm trying to finish off this quest where you need to score 6+ kills with a pulse rifle in a match, and do it 4 different matches. Normally, even someone as mediocre as me can manage 6 or more kills with a primary weapon. But I just can't do it with a pulse rifle.
  9. Waiting for tomorrow's big Destiny update. Hopefully it's worth the wait.
  10. Had some success with the Ace of Spades hand cannon (I think that's what it's called) in PvP. I won't get too excited, though. The lobby I played in might just all suck.
  11. Decided to try the cheap route and use Thorn in Destiny's PvP. I still don't get many kills with it, but at least it helps my teammates finish guys off that I've softened up with the poison/damage over time ability of the gun.
  12. Thanks for the news. It does indeed sound good. Ha, have you ever worked for a big organization/company? Just because the group has vast resources, doesn't mean individuals can access them without going through vast amounts of bureaucracy. Now, I like this paragraph: "In countless RPGs, playing a villain means being an arsehole. It means extorting NPCs, murdering innocents and generally being very rude to everyone. It’s a sort of aimless evil, being bad for the sake of it. It’s possible to be a nasty creep like that in Tyranny, as well, but there’s also the potential for more nuanced villainy." So we can be a villain with being rude/**** evil? Good stuff. I like my villains to be the iron fist in a velvet glove. It seems Obsidian is listening to my complaints about what NOT to do with evil.
  13. I just need to find one gun I'm comfortable with in PvP. My problem is always an inability to finish off an enemy because of a weak gun. In terms of actually seeing the opponent first or getting the first (or second or third) shot in, I'm usually on the ball. No matter what gun I use (unless it's up-close with a shotty or fusion rifle) I can't put them away consistently. I tried getting into the Division the other day when Destiny's servers were down, but that first section didn't pull me in for whatever reason. I might give it another chance after I've gotten bored with Destiny.
  14. I ended up lucking out and finding someone to finish off the Court of Oryx rune quest with. I don't know what was the deal with his sword, but the guy was absolutely slicing through all the bosses like nothing. Even the antiquated rune one, it was just the two of us and he practically killed the multiple bosses on his own. All I did was basically cover him by shooting at the minions swarming around the map.
  15. Bungie should just offer nothing but Team Deathmatch for PvP. That's what 95% of the players in the lobby do anyways, regardless of what the actual objective of the game is. Last game I played of capture, I lead my team with 5 captures. The next closest on the team were three guys tied with *one* capture. They captured the opening flag right at the beginning, then proceeded to run around the map trying to earn kills while the other team kept taking flags that I'd previously taken. Idiots.
  16. Geez...I'm playing W3 now and its amazing Its hard to think of a Fallout 4 being even better than that ? FO4 isn't even close to the same realm of quality as the Witcher 3. These awards are ridiculously dumb, where they just hand them out to whoever seems to pay the most or who had the biggest advertising budget. In terms of actual quality, I can think of about 10 games in the past year that were better than FO4.
  17. The problem with games geared toward online/multiplayer/co-op crops up when those games start to lose some of their audience. I'm finding that with Destiny, where the PvP is still busy but the individual stuff (like doing the Court of Oryx) is difficult because I'm usually the only person on the map attempting it. My secondary character has to finish off some stolen and antiquated rune tasks in the Court of Oryx, but there's never anyone there to play with to help me out (especially the antiquated rune one).
  18. Hmm. The world feels emptier than I thought it would. Maybe it's just the first section that's like that. But the only bad guys there are are found during the actual missions, while the streets themselves are bare of activity.
  19. Destiny's servers were down so I decided to play some of Tom Clancy's the Division. Very early in the game, but I'm not seeing anyone running around the map. The only place I see other players is in the safehouse, but not actually out and about. Do you ever bump into people doing missions? I also don't like the grenades access. I wish it were key mapped to a specific button to just press once, rather than do the <- to and then the fire button after aiming.
  20. Playing in Destiny's PvP matches makes me reconsider using my mic. I never usually have it hooked up, but every game I have to watch my teammates do everything but actually try to achieve the objectives makes me want to swear a strip from each and every one of them. It's called Rift. Go after the freakin' rift! It's called Capture. Try and freakin' capture the flags! Don't just friggin' stand off in a corner trying to raise your K/D ratio (which isn't even tracked, I might add, so I don't see the point). Ugh.
  21. There are not exotic boots for warlocks right now, only 2x hunter and 2x titan. The only auto rifle that's viable these days is apparently the one you get from Trials of osiris. So High ROF low damage at least all the try hards used these, so i hear. Auto rifles were meta in the first few months of year 1 Destiny, then they were nerfed to complete trash and haven't recovered since. Some guns might be useful but never for all situations. And from what they posted about the incoming update i'm not sure i want to return to destiny anytime soon. The current exotic auto rifle I have (starts with a 'Z' I believe) that does lightning damage to all enemies close together *should* be a dominant weapon in PvP, especially in control if a bunch of enemies are trying to take a flag. But it does so little damage that all I do is maybe take down half their shields, then get killed when they turn and shoot at me as a group. I'm not asking for auto rifles to be one-shot kills by any means. But holy Hell, I shouldn't have to hit a guy 6 or 7 times to kill him. Even if I manage to headshot him, it still takes 4 or 5 shots first. I'm also not sure how I feel about that Invective exotic shotgun. The rate of fire is good, but its recoil makes it difficult to hip-fire multiple shots, and the damage is less than my other shotgun, which can pretty much one-shot people.
  22. Apparently auto rifles really do suck in PvP. Every. Single. Time. I'll see my opponent before he sees me, hit him 3 or 4 times with my auto rifle and do nothing more than maybe drop his shields so all he has left is his full health bar, but then he simply turns to where I am, fires off one or two shots, and kills me. I don't know what Bungie is doing with this game, but the PvP is so unbalanced. Shotguns are overpowered (though I admit I use the shotgun for the cheap kills), and certain hand cannons are overpowered. It's like they hate the auto rifles and have gone out of their way to make them they worst (in terms of dealing damage) gun by a LONG shot. What makes it even more frustrating is my own lack of skill. I can't use hand cannons. I simply can't aim and hit when the opponents are jumping around and hovering like it's Halo. I'll get one shot in with my hand cannon, but then they just jump around and I can't hit that second shot. The only reason I subject myself to this is the legendary marks you're rewarded for playing a Crucible match. That, and when the Iron Banner comes around, you get some pretty nice item drops as reward.
  23. No one ever did. Maybe you should try farming from Exotic engrams. With 300 light you have a small chance they turn into 310. Small chance sadly. THe closer you get to 310 the bigger chance , but it's never 100%. I think you missed something going to the Research hall. Best hidden secret room in the DLC. It's also weird that 90% of the time I get an exotic engram drop (or when a purple engram yields an exotic item when I exchange it) that it's for a different class. Just today I turned a purple engram into an exotic pair of boots, but they were for Hunters not Warlocks. The slots I'm having the most difficult time finding 300 level gear for are the primary weapon, the heavy weapon, the helmet, and the elbow/arm guards. The other slots, I've found a 300+ level item at least once, for at least one of my characters.
  24. The inclusion of the transgender character reminds me of BioWare's inclusion of almost all romanceable characters being bisexual.
  25. And this continues. My Warlock actually got up to Light 300 (I "borrowed" my 317 ghost from my Hunter), yet every Iron Banner match, or every engram in patrol missions, turns up a 260 to 280 level item. Meanwhile, I played one more game of Iron Banner for my Hunter to finish off a bounty and he got a 315 sniper rifle drop as a post match reward. I don't understand the loot drop system in this game. At all.
