Some Ideas....
GhostofAnakin replied to Revan_Knight_&_Savior's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
From the Star Wars databank: Ysalamari -
What driver version are you using? On the Bioware boards, they suggest, I believe, an older version, such as 4.2 or 4.3. I, myself, switched to 4.2 and the game runs smoothly on mine. I thought there was a decent amount. Often times I'd buy all the best weapons, but find I didn't have enough characters to equip them with. I think a remedy would be to make certain weapons more "valuable" for certain tasks. That might add replay value to using different weapons (for example, do you use a rocket launcher to blow the droids to bits, or do you use a ion gun or whatever to immobilize them so you can use a repair skill to turn the droids to your side). They've stated they are intending to do this by giving each NPC a strength that only he/she has and will make them more valuable for different reasons. I liked the music and voice acting of the first game. The problem is, by definition, the LS isn't an "offensive" Force alignment. The LS is for defense. Perhaps the only thing I can think of is make a LSer's immunity to other Force powers stronger, so even though their offensive skills aren't as strong, they can absorb more damage without consequence. They've stated they hope to achieve a less "thug-like" DS game this time around. But I do agree that in KOTOR1, it seemed more like petty thuggery than DS. This would be interesting, but we'll have to wait and see how Obsidian deals with this.

Some of those aren't bad. Although probably too late in the development to be considered. -
Updates are good and all, but I'm holding my excitement until the announcement that the game is ready and being prepared to be shipped to stores

Most Powerful Sith Lord Ever?
GhostofAnakin replied to Darth Sirius's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
hi, kettle. let me introduce you to pot. -
In fairness, does armor for different factions (Republic Soldier, security guard, etc.) have to look that different? I mean think of some of the armies of the countries on earth. Actual military garb, does the US Army uniform look drastically different than the Canadian army uniform? Color differences and slight differences in helmet, but overall pretty similar. So why's it such a big deal if (and it's not even certain that that armor will be in the final KOTOR2 product) that armor and the Republic armor looks similar, except for the color?

Good job bumping a thread that's almost a month old. -
Most Powerful Sith Lord Ever?
GhostofAnakin replied to Darth Sirius's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That has to be the most retarded thing I've ever seen. By that list, Chewie had almost as much potential in the Force as Jacen Solo (for those who have read The Unifying Force will know how rediculous this is). -
Most Powerful Sith Lord Ever?

Aren't half the people on that list made up Sith Lords anyways? I've never heard of most of them and I've read pretty much every EU novel published. -
I havent watched womens gymnastics, but what makes them look like freaks? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The fact that they're all under 5'0 tall and 100 lbs despite being 16-19 years old perhaps? Pretty much all of the female gymnasts look like they're 10 or 11 years old.

What made the original (movie) trilogy great...
GhostofAnakin replied to xG-9's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I think also the difference between a video game and a movie sequel you have to keeep in mind is the "ability" of the starring character. In the movies, they could work around Revan being super powerful. But in the games, it would require you to start out as a level 20 Jedi, which would either a)make the first 3/4 of the game too easy, or make it rediculously hard with bad guys that are unrealistically powerful. -
I would hate having respawnable enemies just for the sake of having someone to fight.

Should Kotor2 be a little more Violent.
GhostofAnakin replied to psychohazards's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I guess you still don't grasp that just because Bioware BORROWED items from the d20 ruleset, doesn't mean they have to follow it 100%. When I play hockey with my friends, we don't use all the actual NHL rules. We don't have off-sides. We don't have penalties. We don't have line changes. We don't play 3, 20-minute periods. Does that mean that we're not actually playing hockey? No. It means we're just not adhering to EVERY rule that professional hockey has in place. I also disagree that it would fit the current storyline to have a non-Jedi as the PC, mainly because the story happens to be about Jedi-Sith. If the story weren't so Sith-as-enemy oriented, then I'd agree with you. Heck, I've said numerous times that I'd enjoy playing a game and storyline as a non-Jedi. I think that'd be a fun game. But it just doesn't fit the KOTOR theme. That's not to say it doesn't fit a Star Wars game theme, just THIS specific Star Wars theme. -
What your looking forward to

Theories on the masked sith guy!
GhostofAnakin replied to Stargate: 2000's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Why not? These guys made a PC the main bad guy before (PS: Torment). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Revan's not their character. My feeling is Obsidian would want to put their own stamp on the game and make someone that they created the main bad guy. -
Theories on the masked sith guy!
GhostofAnakin replied to Stargate: 2000's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I never thought of Dustil as that strong in the Force to justify this type of situation. Besides, he either ends up dead, or "redeemed". This could work, except I don't think Obsidian will make Revan the "main boss" bad guy. -
That's nothing next to the hours the designers have been working. Those guys are game-designing machines. But overall, a lot of us are putting in tons of extra time to give KotOR2 our best. -Akari <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just think of the amount of coffee that Feargus has had to fetch during that time

Can you chose Revan's portrait as well?
GhostofAnakin replied to Eddo36's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The problem with this option though, is when would you implement it? Keep in mind that you'll "tell" the game how KOTOR 1 ended through dialogue choices, meaning it'll be during in-game conversations. How would they implement allowing a portrait choice? Cut to a "character creation" screen during the conversation? IMO, that might just take the flow out of the conversation. If Revan appears in character (as opposed to just his name being mentioned), I'm fine with a masked and ambiguous Revan. -
spamming? I dunno. the spelling of a half retarded monkey? yes.

What do you think?
GhostofAnakin replied to the_wonderchild's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Actually, I read the original post and then responded to it. I rarely read entire posts, since, as is the case, they tend to go off topic quite easily. The attention span and maturity of some people on these boards makes it impossible to actually stay on topic for long -
The Sith are the poor man's Empire
GhostofAnakin replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I don't know much about the timeline, so I was curious, how DID the Sith dress back then? Were they all a bunch of Darth Mauls running around in black? Did they dress like Cobra Commander? I could never picture how the Sith would dress. I tend to agree about the Sith, especially the Force user Sith. The foot soldiers (in armor) didn't really bother me, nor did the bridge soldiers in Imperial outfits. But the Force users did on Koriban. They should have been wearing some kind of robe, sorta like the Jedi. -
What do you think?
GhostofAnakin replied to the_wonderchild's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I voted for 9. The game itself (ie. story, gameplay, characters, etc.) warranted a consideration of a 10, but there were some graphical issues that bugged me, namely choppiness in crowded areas, like Taris. -
December release...mmm

So how many of mgnails' "projects" have been cancelled now? Is AE number 2? Ambition is a good thing. But not when you're claiming to be able to accomplish something that's well beyond your comprehension.

I believe it was once said on the star wars official forums that the entries in the databank won't necessarily coincide with what happened in the game, since the game gives you a couple of options. I think basically the databank just took the "good" ending to fit with what we know of the rest of the SW history.
