About non-Jedi classes...
GhostofAnakin replied to GhostofAnakin's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
But technically, up until the final run on the Death Star, no "Force power" was used by the main characters. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you want to get hyper-technical then Luke did use the force on the Falcon to see the training drone so he could block its laser shot. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not in actual combat. -

I believe the correct response to this is.... WTF? -
Questions that probably won't get a definite answer: 1-Will we be able to actually join the Sith? Or will it be like in the first game where even if you are Darkside on Koriban, ultimately you're still their enemy? 2-Expansion disks. Does LucasArts have any intentions of ever releasing expansion packs for either KOTOR game? If no, why not? Most other games seem to have "add-ons" to their originals. Questions that might be answered: 1-Feargus Urquhart mentioned suggesting/talking to LucasArts about a possible Knights of the New Republic game. My question is, what type of reaction did LA give? Were they interested? Or were they flat out against the possibility? 2-Are we, the fans, going to ever get a definite release date before the actual time of release? Or will it always remain the "some say december, some say february" type vague answer that's currently going around? 3-NPC AI. Will the NPC's (both your party and enemies) be smarter this time? Last game your party NPC would run off and trigger new enemies before you were ready to face them, or would run right through a mine while you were trying to disarm it. Will this be improved upon? 4-System requirements. Will the specs be similar to the first game, or will everyone who buys the PC version have to fork out more money for massive upgrades? That's all I can think of right now.

Obviously Canada.

Ways Malak could've been better....
GhostofAnakin replied to Topaz Quasar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I didn't think Malak was as bad as everyone makes him out to be. Was he Darth Vader? No. Was he the Emperor? No. Was he a decent bad guy? Yes. IMO, he was a poor man's Darth Vader. He relied more on brawn than brains (which is what Vader did). He'll never go down in history among the great villains, but I never figured out why people thought he was absolutely horrible. -
About non-Jedi classes...
GhostofAnakin replied to GhostofAnakin's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I should probably clarify my original post a bit. When I said no Force element, I merely meant that your character (the PC) had no Force ability and never developed/learned/gained the ability. I didn't necessarily mean that none of your enemies would have Force powers, or that none of your party members would either. I was thinking more along the lines of, instead of going through the story as Luke Skywalker (ie. Force strong), you went through the story as Han Solo. note: when I say Han Solo, I mean Solo-type, not Han Solo himself -
About non-Jedi classes...

Ah, but I said with KOTOR-esque game play. I think one of the things people have disliked about SW Galaxies is it doesn't capture the epic story like KOTOR does. I think the best way to picture it is: Think Taris, but with a continued story. -
Does anyone think there will ever be a KOTOR-esque game featuring the main character as one of these regular classes that everyone talks about (ie. bounty hunter, scoundrel, scout, soldier, smuggler, etc.)? For example, an expansion pack or down the line, an entire series using the same features as KOTOR series, but without the "Force" element in it? If so, would you be in favor of such a game? If not, why do you think it's not feasible?

Should we have equipment sets?

I wouldn't want to play as a Qel Droma clone either -

Where are all the restrooms at?
GhostofAnakin replied to Eddo36's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Correct. Or atleast it is if you agree with the EU novels. A lot of them describe the "16 hour flight back to Coruscant" or the "9 days until we reach Corelia" type situations. -
More asian faces in Star Wars?
GhostofAnakin replied to Eddo36's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Not necessarily. Just because a certain race or ethnicity isn't used in a setting, doesn't make it descrimination. If that's the case, then are all those Kung-Fu and Samarai movies (except for the one with Tom Cruise) descriminating? Last time I saw, the ratio of asian to white/black men was about 10:1, with the one white man being the evil westerner that gets his head chopped off. Certain FANTASY settings have a certain look for a character. It just happens that George Lucas has decided upon which races he'll use. Please don't turn this into a race issue, when there are other "genres" that do the exact same type of, as you called it, "descrimination" against whites and blacks. -

As macewindu stated, they do have this sort of thing in the first game with stuff like Brejik's equipment. It's an interesting idea, but I don't know if I'd want to be a "Exar Kun clone", where in order to get the bonuses I have to basically dress up exactly like him. Although maybe I'd be more inclined to dress like a former Sith Lord if they had, oh I dunno, a big black power suit with a black helmet and mask and black cape.... -

Enemies who aren't suicidal?
GhostofAnakin replied to Eddo36's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
They already implemented this in KOTOR 1. Darth Malak ran away from you throughout the entire game. -
That's a bit surprising...there's more Europeans than NA's. Every other message board forum I post on is dominated by us Westerners.

GhostofAnakin replied to Eddo36's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I'm thinking no. I like Star Wars games to mirror the movies, and usually the humans are white or black. -
I voted for other. I felt most evil when I had all the female party members running around the entire game in their undies. Yes, even Juhani.

Favorite non Jedi Class
GhostofAnakin replied to macewinduJr.'s topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Soldier, for their pure offensive ability. If the game was a bit more diverse, in which things like smugglers, gambling, "underworld" stuff was included (not just a ferry mission with some cargo), the other two classes might be appealing to me. But as it was, brute strength was often the only choice and the soldier was best at it. -
16! Now he's feeling the pressure  But yeah, if he's got time, he'll do one. If not, then oh well. Let the man (or woman?) do his/her work.

Is a KotOR 3 logically possible?
GhostofAnakin replied to macewinduJr.'s topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I think it's logically possible. Obviously it can't be speculated on exactly what would be included in a KOTOR 3 until KOTOR 2 is released so we have a better idea of what has been included and what hasn't. But at the same time, the Star Wars universe has limitless possibilities and as long as someone with a good knowledge of storytelling makes the game, then I don't see why not. I think we sometimes mistake the KOTOR saga for the "Revan saga" because thus far, Revan has had a huge part in the series (starring role in KOTOR 1, and his fate known in KOTOR 2). But the series can go on even without carrying on the Revan saga. edit: and I strongly believe that if LucasArts wants to, the KOTOR franchise can be the SW equivalent of the Final Fantasy saga that just keeps on going. -
Should being rich last game determine storyline?

Star Wars games aren't geared towards "neutral" options. -
What should the old crew be wearing in KOTOR 2?
GhostofAnakin replied to Eddo36's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I had Bastila running around the entire game in her bra and panties. She better damn well still be wearing that if/when I see her in TSL.
