Was it the same actor who played Commander Shepard? -
Are you serious?... I'm trolling by saying the MMO might be decent? Good point there, you're really smart. It's silly to think people won't give an MMO sequel to a former GotY title a chance. The MMO won't flop. I'm saying you're trolling because you keep insisting that we're "lying" when we say we're not interested in playing the MMO, for our own given reasons, and keep on insisting we will play it.

Jedophile, he's just trolling, trying to bait you into responding to each post he makes. I'd suggest ignoring him.

Not if it costs a monthly fee and gets poor reviews. I've never tried SW Galaxies, and I'm a huge Star Wars fan. I refused to pay monthly fees for it.

I gotta say, option three would be hilarious to see. Especially if the hero began sobbing uncontrollably, and blew his nose into his companion's handkerchief. -
If it's on the XBox360, and there is no additional subscription price (other than to be a Gold member of XBox Live), then I'll certainly give the game a go. But I simply can't see myself dishing out for a monthly fee, unless the game gets the greatest reviews ever by numerous individuals whose opinion I respect.

Actually, the article does state that doing that (sleeping with all of them) would have consequences, such as potential jealousy or whatnot. So in that case, there are consequences to sleeping with all of them. -

Okay, I'm officially not interested now. If my PC can't cry, then my entire reason for playing is gone. -
I'm actually going to do the same thing before the second game. Just curious, how close are you and hwo many hours have you put in? I want to gauge myself and get an estimate of how much I'll have to play to get there. My latest game, as Renegade Shepard, is at about 45 hours, and he's up to Level 58. I'm near the end, though, so I doubt I'll reach Level 60 after two times through. My Paragon Shepard reached Level 60 sometime into my third play through. It wasn't quite the halfway point, I don't think, but it happened after I'd already become a Spectre and left the Citadel. So, given that each play through averages out to about 25 hours, and I've had to go through the game three times (two full, one partial, although I did finish it anyway just to have that final save file), that amounts to around 75 or so hours.

Yet you responded to my post about the times it took me to play my games, saying my times were wrong. I could comment the same thing. Please don't tell me how long it took you to finish those games, since it has no effect on me whatsoever. -

I'm not talking about if you sit around and play pazzaak for hours, or do those silly JE sidequests where you play Space Invaders, or watch scenery. JE and ME are definitely closer to 20 hours than your estimates. For example, I'm on my second play through as a Renegade Shepard, and my last save was at 43 hours, as I touched down on Ilos. Give or take another 5 or 6 hours, and I'm at 50 hours for two play throughs, which averages out to 25. So I'm not sure where you get 40 hours. Your KOTOR2 estimate might be close, although the only time I took over 30 hours was on my first play through when I literally took forever just to look around at the various environments and planets. After that, my games were closer to about 23 or 24 hours. The only one I'll concede I was wrong with was NWN2. The others may not be *exactly* 20 hours, but were very close to it. -

I must be easy to please. I actually have no major gripes about the NWN2 OC. -

I must have got a glitchy version of the game then. Mine was no longer than 20 hours. -

It's been a while since I played it, so apparently my estimate was off. But I don't remember it being super long, like the old BG games. -

Most RPGs today tend to be around that length (not counting JRPGs). Jade Empire, NWN2, KOTOR II, and Mass Effect were somewhere about 20 hours in length. Unfortunately, that seems to be the new trend. -
I'm replaying Mass Effect. I'm trying to get both my Paragon and Renegade Shepard to Level 60, just so they'll be ready when Mass Effect II comes out. Of course, this could backfire if ME2 doesn't live up to the developers' claims. But I'm having a fun enough time that it doesn't matter right now.
-
I preferred KOTOR's party interaction to Mass Effect's. I hated the fact I had to be aboard the Normandy to talk to my companions (other than conversations in cutscenes). IMO, it flows better if you can speak to them at any time. Which isn't to say the KOTOR interaction was perfect, as the whole [so and so looks like he wants to talk to you] was a bit lame. But overall, I'd take the party interaction and dialogue about their backstories in KOTOR over what we got in ME.

While it's good you finally expanded on your reasonings, I think you're a bit dismissive of the choices the player has available to him/her during your breakdown of the game. You kept insisting that there aren't many (I believe you even used "any") chances to actually make choices for your character, and are instead pulled along on the ride without having to make a decision. That's oversimplifying it to a large degree. I will state, in case you think otherwise, that I, too, had many issues with the final product of Mass Effect. However, I'd never suggest it wasn't an RPG. In my opinion, it simply wasn't as good an RPG as it could have been.
-
I'm not going to search through all your posts on Mass Effect, but in this thread, you haven't given a reason for your beliefs. You've made blanket statements, with no actual examples or evidence to back it up. That was your quote. You didn't give a single example or proof of those claims, you simply made them and expected everyone else to fill in our own conclusions about why the game made you believe that.
-
We get it, you hated Mass Effect. Yet, you never really say what it was you hated. You got on the Obsidian developer for not expanding on his reasoning, yet your response is "completely fails as an RPG". Okay, how does it fail? As not to sidetrack this thread any more, if you do have a response to that, maybe post it in one of the many ME threads in the Computer and Console forum.
