  1. I take it it'd be way too early to ask about the system specs for this game?
  2. Unless I'm terribly overrating the gameplay, it looks NOTHING like Episode III's game. For one thing, that game was annoying in that you could only travel as though you were on a horizontal left-to-right path for much (if not all) of the game.
  3. I must admit, I mark out huge for this game. But I'm trying to temper my enthusiasm, so that I won't be disappointed when it inevitably doesn't live up to my expectations of awesomeness.
  4. Nah. Just like Star Wars, it'll sell, no matter how "pissed off" fans get, because the majority of the fans of their previous games won't even be following this fiasco online, and thus, aren't affected by it. Don't mistake hardcore fans (the kind who post online, who follow every bit of detail about a game) with the casual fan, who makes up a bigger percentage of the pie.
  5. Don't get me wrong, I liked the story in ME. There just wasn't any moment along the way, where I sat back after a revelation and said, "Wow. Just wow." Finding out about Sovereign was no more shocking, than finding out about Ashley's past, or finding out about Saren.
  6. This, also, is what I sort of meant when I asked Hades what shocked him so much. Even if you didn't suspect Sovereign, when it was revealed, it seemed more of a "oh, I see now" moment, rather than a "OMG I DIDN"T SEE THAT COMING!?!!? THAT ALTERS THE STORY IMMENSELY!" moment. But, overall, they dropped enough hints leading up to Virmire, that even if you couldn't predict the exact details of what/who Sovereign was, you'd at least realize it wasn't simply a Star Destroyer clone.
  7. The first mission for that Joey guy. I forget his last name, lives up on a hill, on the last "island" that opens. You have to follow him to a meeting a warehouse, and cover him with a sniper rifle in case it goes bad.
  8. I think I'm one of the rare few that has enjoyed every single BioWare game I've played. Sure, I have my favorites among them, and I've had my complaints about some features in some of them, but overall, I've got my money's worth with every single title they've produced. I expect Dragon Age to be no different.
  9. You make it sound like that's a rare thing. Uh, considering you're one of the people who constantly talks about how obvious the KOTOR revelation was, due to tons of foreshadowing, I'm surprised you didn't pick up on the fact there was more to Sovereign than met the eye after, about, Eden Prime.
  10. Sovereign. What was so surprising about Sovereign?
  11. Me being killed isn't the problem. Me keeping an NPC from dying, or risk failing a mission, is.
  12. Any specific examples of this, my good friend? Because there was nothing in ME that "surprised" me, anymore than the revelation in KOTOR did. So I'm genuinely curious what took you for a loop in ME.
  13. I've given up on this game. I got to about 60% completed, but have been stuck on the same mission for the past two weeks. And until I finish it, I can't unlock any more missions. So frustrating.
  14. Thanks. Imagine my surprise when I saw all these new features.

  15. I logged in tonight. Amazingly, my PC still had my log in details saved from the "remember me" tab. I don't think it was a case of money, though. Hossa cost Detroit very little, relatively speaking. He could've got over 8 million elsewhere.
  16. I really wish Hossa had stayed with Pittsburgh. Him and Sid over a full 82-game schedule would have been magic.
  17. I can't believe how long this has been held up. I'm itching for something new to play.
  18. Mass Effect is a difficult game for me to rate, simply because I can't make myself call it a great game because it had too many flaws -- that I don't want to get into -- to do that. At the same time, I don't want to call it a disappointment, because I played it through twice, which means I got more for my money than I do with most games. However, since this topic is about sidequests, then I'll comment on my dislike of the majority of them. As someone has already pointed out, they're basically carbon copies of each other. Go to planet --> clear out bunker --> fight boss dude --> pick up loot --> leave. Also, for the most part, they seem so unrelated to the main plot, that they kind of feel out of place. Especially since you have to travel to different planets than the main quest planets to complete them. It's like, "okay, the universe is in jeopardy, so we need to travel to Noveria. But there's some pirate group that's picking on farmers all the way across the galaxy that we'll stop at first". It just took me out of the experience. Don't even get me started on the character/party interaction.
  19. In some of those instances, I prefer the 1980 version. Go figure.
  20. Get the DS stuff... but it makes no sense that a DS person who sided with Talia to not have the option to cut down Kavar and live with the consequences of that. Can't make a choice if I am not allowed to make said choice, can I? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My response was following along the example given by the original poster. Obviously there's instances where the choices could have been more fleshed out, but in his case it makes sense.
  21. This line shows up in the crash error box: C:Program Files\Trillian\Crash Files\crash.1156567171.dmp
  22. Trillian gives me a crash error message when I try loading it up. GoA is not a happy individual.
  23. Uh? The game shouldn't allow the player to pick and choose what bests fits him and judge on an individual basis about the consequences with no impact on the rest of the game world. Choices should be inter-related to events that are away from the scope of the player. In this case, siding with Vaklu means you're against Kavar and the Jedi Masters. Think about it. If the guy wants to side with Vaklu, you're saying the game should also then allow him to remain LS and side with Kavar somehow, even though that means you'd inevitably end up killing one of Kavar's closest friends. What should the game have allowed? For Kavar to then say "well, you butchered the queen, and went against everything I stand for, but I guess I shouldn't punish you for making one bad choice." That's silly. You're basically saying that none of your choices should have consequences, and that choices you make shouldn't have a bearing on future choices you might want to make.
  24. Every time I try to log on to either AIM or MSN Messenger I run into the problem where the very second the program loads and my buddy list appears, it then runs into an error and shuts down. It's weird because both worked perfectly fine last night, but today when I turned on the comp and tried to log on I encountered this problem. As a side note (or maybe it's related), Internet Explorer is causing the same issues for me. It won't load a website, so when I go to close it down using the upper right corner 'X' it causes an error message that needs an "end now" command to close. Any ideas what's the deal?
  25. Good, it gives me more time to buy a new computer.
