  1. When Fallout 3's intro is given as an example of a fun or good intro, I already know my tastes are going to differ tremendously.
  2. Yeah, that's my worry, that it will be kind of boring to play through. Especially if I have to solo through it if my friends decide to either play when I'm not available or whatever.
  3. Get it. It's worth at least one play through.
  4. I actually agree with this. KOTOR2 really picks up once you're off Peragus, but it's a bit of a chore (especially on subsequent play throughs when you've already done the "detective work" and know all the surprises) to go through.
  5. I'm going to be conservative (pessimistic) and say between $2 million and $3 million.
  6. No romances. I don't mind some kind of influence system, where companions begin to open up/trust you more depending on your words/actions. But nothing that ends up with you and the she-elf rolling around on a sleeping bag in her bra and granny panties.
  7. The Chosen One must choose! Seriously though, I agree with the OP.
  8. I prefer it where I create my character, then meet/recruit my companions along the way. The main reason for this is, IMO, it allows the developers to give companions a personality and background that you (the player) learns about over the course of traveling with them. In terms of companions, it's why I liked the PS:T and BG companions a lot more than the companions I created for IWD.
  9. Don't get me wrong, I actually like some of the ideas the OP proposes, but it seems like it would be a bit much for a project of this relatively small size, no?
  10. Since Obsidian is going the new IP route, I'd actually like to see them use different races than your more typical fantasy races like elves and dwarves.
  11. I'm a fan of influence systems, if properly tweaked. So I'm on board with that, and have faith in the Obsidz guys to implement it well, if they so chose to add it as one of the features of gameplay. Just please nothing like BioWare's influence system in Dragon Age: Origins, where someone can be indifferent to you one minute, but if you buy them a lot of gifts, suddenly you're best friends!
  12. This kind of goes against everything that was good about Alpha Protocol. I'm not sure how multiplayer would work with a story where the player's decision has a massive impact on how the story plays out.
  13. And that's fair enough. But this is the part where the majority of my post is directed at. Give it time. I'm sure they will reveal more information about the game over the course of the month. I'm just saying that you're being a bit impatient (for lack of a better word) for even feeling you need to encourage them to post more information just because 2 days (two of those days are weekend when they might not even be in the office) have passed with no new info.
  14. Seriously. The actual game was announced, what, Friday? It's only two days later, and people are already complaining about the lack of information about it. There's still an entire month to go before the end of the pledge drive. I'm sure we'll be updated with more and more information over the course of that month. In the meantime, people should be using this time to come up with suggestions for what they want to see in the game, so the developers can get an idea of what is most important to the fans.
  15. I consider it important. I like learning about the "world", so to speak, that I'm playing in, even if it isn't necessarily directly related to the actual storyline of the game. It just fleshes out the world to make it seem more alive.
  16. I'm tempted to buy Borderlands 2 when it is released, but I've yet to even play the first one. A group of my friends are bugging me to play it with them when it's released, but I don't know if I'll even like it since, as I say, I haven't played the first one yet. I've still got Arkham Asylum and Max Payne 3 on my "to play" list.
  17. That concept art picture of the guy with the rifle is intriguing.
  18. I voted 20-50, mainly because of the delicate balance between quality and quantity required to make a great game, coupled with the resources available to the developers to achieve that balance. 20 to 50 hours is right around a solid length where that balance can be met.
  19. So if this is a throwback to the PS:Ts and BGs of the world, does that mean the system requirements to run the game will be the same as those?
  20. It's your money, so I'm not going to criticize you for un-pledging (is that even a word, or did I just make it up?). But you're making a lot of assumptions in your post, considering we don't really know a heck of a lot about the project yet.
  21. Good to see the project is getting some "mainstream" attention in the press.
  22. Obsidian's contracted to take over Dragon Age 3?!
  23. Finished Spec Ops: The Line, marginally disappointed by it. Now it's on to either Arkham Asylum or Max Payne 3.
  24. Playing Spec Ops: The Line. It's a fun enough shooter, but the story doesn't really grab me.
  25. I found that character particularly boring. The series itself I had trouble pushing through in general, but especially the parts involving Karsa.
