  1. Played and finally finished the World at War single player campaign. It was OK, but nothing I'd consider replaying. Also, a little disappointed there aren't many achievements to unlock unless you play veteran or above. Being pretty mediocre at FPS, I tend to stick to recruit or the next one up, so I pretty much unlocked next to no achievements.
  2. Being a big Star Wars fanboy and all, KOTOR is one of my favorite games ever. But from about that point on (on the Star Forge, facing the waves of enemies) I hated replaying that part.
  3. I think you're misremembering. It still manages to be worse than the previous two, so you're right in that sense. Possibly. I just seem to remember a bit more story elements between the shooting. Another thing that I'm finding is the missions are a lot easier in MW3 than the previous games. I can't remember if it was MW1 or MW2, but I gave up on the single player campaign because I simply couldn't finish certain missions. In MW3, I haven't run across a mission yet that I'd consider difficult.
  4. Decided to give the CoD MW3 single player campaign a try. Did they cut down on the story element from previous versions? It seems like all I'm doing is shooting things, taking a quick break, then back to shooting things. I could have sworn previous MW campaigns had more cutscene/story between the shooting.
  5. Yeah, seems that way to me. If anything, it could make things worse when they're forced to deal with real life outside their "fantasy world". Seems more like masking a problem than dealing with the underlying issue, and resolving that.
  6. Looks like Risen 2 is out for the XBox 360 today. I'll finally be able to play the game.
  7. Well that was pretty quick, wasn't it? Already free-to-play, and their subscribers down to less than 1 million. Maybe I'll actually give it a try now.
  8. Characters react differently to how you answer. Some respond well to the direct approach, others respond better when charmed or when sarcastic. So already you'd be alienating certain characters, or at the very least, cutting down on options to gain valuable information from them. I'd say AP, more than most games, the dialogue options determine the way events can unfold for you.
  9. Didn't you just describe Honest Hearts?
  10. I hate the shooting mechanics in the GTA series.
  11. Speaking of the above, I got a great deal at Wal-mart. They've currently got Max Payne 3 (on the Xbox360) on sale for $29.83, plus you get both GTA IV expansions Ballad of Gay Tony and the biker one for free.
  12. So I decided to go ahead and buy Max Payne 3. Morgoth owes me a refund if I don't like it.
  13. I need a new game. I'm thinking Max Payne 3. Either that, or wait until Sleeping Dogs is released in about a month.
  14. And just like that, I gave up on Modern Warfare 3. I don't know what it is about the maps, but they seem to cater more to the Run N Gun crowd who like to jump around and spray bullets like the Halo crowd. God help me if I want to actually use a sniper rifle.
  15. I don't know what min-maxing means.
  16. I decided to give Modern Warfare 3 another chance. Man, am I rusty. I had a kill:death ratio of almost 2:1 in MW2, but I'm struggling to even keep a 1.00 in MW3. The maps that I played on don't seem to be very sniper-friendly.
  17. Not sure if it was a glitch or not, but I had a handful of odd things happen during the last little bit leading up to the battle of Hoover Dam. First, there's Arcade. After I finished his personal quest, he walked into the Remnant bunker and I couldn't find him after that. So I couldn't add him to my party for the remainder of the game after that point. Second, ED-E seemed to just disappear on me as soon as I reached Hoover Dam. He was nowhere to be found until the point where I was making my way to the Legate's camp, and even then he just sort of ... froze by the gate and wouldn't follow me. I don't know if it had anything to do with Cannibal Johnson following me, as if he was part of my party. Lastly, not really a glitch like the above, but Veronica didn't seem to even acknowledge me wiping out the BoS bunker for Mr. House. She tagged along with me with not even a comment about what I'd done.
  18. The tutorial was a streamlined version of the rest of the game. It was more on rails, with the player basically having to follow a specific path through the level. The rest of the game tends to give you multiple paths, and multiple ways to approach those paths.
  19. Finished Lonesome Road. So frustrated by barely missing out on two achievements: fully upgrade ED-E and detonate the 30 nuke warheads. I ended up with 4 out of 5 of ED-E's upgrades, and 27 out of 30 of the nukes.
  20. Translation: We liek big moniez. Personal note: Movie is gonna be ****. Has a movie based off a video game ever actually turned out good? I can't think of a single one off the top of my head.
  21. There is a very huge popup right before the end of the game, which tells you exactly that the game will end. It even asks you if you want to continue or not and you pressed yes. Hence me spacing out. I wasn't really paying attention, and figured that was more a warning that I wouldn't have any chances to buy weapons, or collect items from my safe house, or whatever after that point. It didn't sink in that it meant the game was actually done after that point, and any other sidequests I had open would remain unfinished.
  22. There should be an autosave before the Dam. I want to finish off some achievements, such as siding with Yes Man anyway, so I'll use that save which is about at the point when all 4 endings are still open to me.
  23. One of these days I'm going to attempt a speed-run, with a newly created character for ME3 (no imported character), just for the giggles.
  24. Well, I totally spaced out. For some reason, I thought I could continue playing New Vegas after the battle at Hoover Dam, so I left the Lonesome Road DLC until after that. Only after I saw the credits roll did it sink in that I couldn't keep playing. Looks like I'll have to play Lonesome Road when I finish off another play through, this time siding with Mr. House.
