A friend was over and he wanted to play a "shooter", so we gave ME3 MP a chance. Do a lot of people play this game? It doesn't seem like it. For one, it took us forever to find a game. When I tried starting a match, we sat there for literally 5 minutes without a single person joining our lobby. Then when we joined another game and were put in an already started one, a few times it was some dude going solo. For another, my overall N7 ranking as well as my Challenge ranking is a lot higher than I thought it would be, given how little I play MP. I'm ranked something like 4000 in Canada and 55000 in the world. When I used to play CoD, even if I played regularly I'd be hardpressed to move up past 100000 in the world despite putting in much, much more hours than ME3.

Agreed. Too much can happen between the "pitch" stage and the "GoA can go to the store and buy this game" stage.

Emphasis on a bit. I couldn't finish GTA IV, it was painful. SD isn't perfect but it's leagues better imo. Agreed. I think a lot of that has to do with Sleeping Dogs' combat. GTA's combat has always been frustratingly bad.

I bought Dead Space 3 the other day, but still haven't managed to play it. Every time I attempt to sit down and play one of the games on my backlog (Batman Arkham Asylum, Resident Evil 6, Assassin's Creed 3, Dead Space 3), something comes up and I don't get the chance.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was the first ever cRPG I played. Shortly after that, Obsidian was developing KOTOR II, so I signed up for the forums to follow the development. Then I started to learn more about the developers behind the two games, and checked out some older games various individuals from those developers had worked on, such as the IE games.

Copycat!

It's got save points rather than being able to save at any time you like? That would almost be a major reason not to buy it for me. I'm not a fan of games that don't allow you to save at any point.

Hmm ... quite the number of positive remarks for Dead Space. Maybe I will check out the series then.
-
Is the Dead Space series any good? The newest one is out today, I believe. I'm desperate for a new game to play, and based on the trailer, this one reminds me of some bastard hybrid between ME, Halo, and the Aliens movies.

That's what I'm trying to do. But it's taking forever to translate them to English.

Artistic integrity. Space Magic. Casey Hudson. Alanschu. Volourn R00fles. Take your pick. Any of the above are just as likely the reason.

This is my most wanted game of 2014. Though I'm a little surprised it's 2014, and not 2015 or 2016.

I could never take the default male Hawke seriously because he reminded me too much of the Sheriff of Nottingham in "Robin Hood: Men in Tights".

It's funny how most folks who give AP a chance actually end up liking it. It's too bad that reviewers judged the game on what they think it should have been, rather than judging the game on what it ended up being.

Probably going to play the new episodes of Halo 4 Spartan Ops soon. I just can't seem to decide what game to replay. My problem is I've got a pretty good memory, so replaying games that are story driven or which the story is a big part of enjoying the experience, tends to lose appeal to me because I remember everything that's going to happen.

I just figure it's going to be a Master Chief situation. Original plan is to not bring back the protagonist from the original trilogy, but then realize it's a cash cow and go against that. Also, that quote suggesting the player won't just be a Shepard clone, I'm not sure how they'll manage that. It's going to be an action shooter. What other archetype can they possibly come up with as a protagonist for that type of game other than "Space marine" ala Shepard version 2?
-
Has BioWare actually confirmed Shepard will not feature in the new game? Or is it just a rumor that's been picked up by every news source and now stated as fact?

Back to some old classics? Haven't played anything myself last week, maybe I'll get around to the Hunt DLC for BL2 this weekend. Eh, the only "classics" I have are the IE games. Not in the mood to play those at the moment. I suppose I could go out and buy a bunch of games I'd never got around to playing before just to have something to play, but that seems like a bit of a waste of money.

Nothing at the moment. And what's worse, no games on the horizon interest me. 2013 looks like it's going to be a very bad year for me for video games.

I think the Bioboards would rather see Cullen in a bikini.
-
That is a weird art picture to be used in an "official" BioWare page. Fan art of two characters who've never met? What's next? A bare-chested Cullen with Leliana?
-
I keep wanting to start up a game of Resident Evil 6, but then something comes up and either I don't have time, or I end up deciding just to throw one of the shooters in and play that instead. One of these days I'll get around to it, despite the low review scores it got.

Finished all 5 episodes of the Spartan Ops campaign. Apparently the new ones are coming out on Monday? Playing Halo 4, I'm seeing how BioWare dropped the ball when it came to their desire to include a multiplayer component for Mass Effect 3. The Spartan Ops campaign would have been a nice touch, especially considering the N7 missions you were given, where players could have played as another Alliance soldier during events that run simultaneous to the SP game. And I won't even go into the various match types in the MP.
-
Actually enjoying playing Spartan Ops for Halo 4. The 5 minute clips are also pretty cool. Three episodes down, two to go.

New Star Wars game? Good chance. KOTOR III? Not after BioWare killed that storyline with their MMO.
