  1. Its Xard, he doesnt mean, he`s just mean As far as you "idea goes" I share the sentiment. But you`re fighting windmills lol. There is actally some petition with a couple 10k signatures for K3 floating around me thinks... Ppl have been talking to the hand for 4 years, but the face, it aint listening
  2. There is no curse in Elvish, Entish, or the tongues of men for this treachery. oops, wrong franchise... or maybe not, in the ligth of this news
  3. Oh yea, "deprived of sleep by being removed from his cell and to another cell every three hours on a 24-hour basis for three weeks solid, followed by three weeks of deep solitary confinement". But seeing thoe he said "take a few minutes, relax, tis all fine lol. The fact youre reducing the thing to an argument of a 15yr olds cognitive abillities is laughable. It`s actually BS whatever the age he was/is. And still in there from what I gather lol. Guess his pleads to kill him landed on deaf ears. It`s like bin laden coming here justifying that the US people have themselves to blame because they (on paper) had the cognitive abillity not to repeatedly vote in administrations that agressivly pursued their interests and regiemes whith no regards for local popullus or anything else. You ppl still actually have the gaull to pass yourself off as "the good guys" heh? Gotta admire them marbles.
  4. Well who could really blame them that much lol, you`re starting to give JA KOTF a run for its money lol...
  5. Ireland is arguably the country that benefited most from EU membership over the years... Just read up on some history books and compare. Heck for years Irish have been the biggest net gainers of European funds and those funds helped transform the Irish economy from an underdeveloped one into what it is today. It`s silly contemplating how they`d fair outside of the EU at this point, every economy in europe would suffer negative effects if it left the common market, that much should be as obvious as 1+1 heh... As for the Lisbon Treaty opposition... that`s funny imo. A funny fear of federalisation or something in those lines I guess... spurred on by nationalistic sentiment that should really be a relic of the past when it comes to these things... As a guy 3/4 into gaining an education in the fields this treaty cover I can tell you that the EU and this treaty is all about harmonising national legislatures to ease the life on the common market. People get their panties in a knot when word "constitution" gets mentioned yet they fail to understand that all internationall agreements supercede/outrank their national constitutuins. That things in this treaty (and others) are most importantly the streamlining of the buerocracy in the light of recent expansion (more power to the downsized parliament, end of the rotation of precedency etc.) and most abundatly 1millionand1 technicalicies and tinkerings with legal mechanics under the hood most don`t care about or even know they`re there. I mean it`s hillarious. Brits would rather die then give an inch to the EU when it comes to the public eye BUT behind the scenes harmonizations of legal and economic concepts that radically differ from angloamerican and continental approach are taking place unopposed. Accounting standards, companies managment, harmonizing of education so you can more easily find employment in another country, harmonizing of the labour law etc. etc. etc. And when I say behind the scenes I dont mean behind the scenes because some EU villain is trying to keep it a secret but because nobody *cares* about it much. Not enough to get all nationalistic about them that is. Spears and shields are splintered on trivial things (like the UK "refund") - to appease the minds of the public and net the far rightwingers some votes, whilst the really big things that make lives easier in the community and respective members get done with no big deal. Irony abound. And white mice everywhere. The reality of the EU is that it is primarily economic integration. As much as I`d personally love to see it being taken to a higher level to present a reasonable alternative to the existing movers&shakers of the world I cant see it happening very soon - bar something major and unexpected. And if it were, would it be the end of the world? Arguably for the firs time in history Europeans arent killing eachother heh. Must be one of the few positive sides of money ruling the world. If instead of US type "democracy exporting" the "EU concept" was to be exported the world would be much better off imho.
  6. Well the order of k1 & k2 is a big lost opportuninty as it`s basically a carbon copy of the PT abd OT... I mean, seriously, they seemed just as imersed into politics in the games as in the movies, they had more than their fair share of prodigies lost to the DS (Raven, Malak and lets not even get into the comics and Q-Dormas heh) and they too managed do get their arses all but exterminated ("offscreen" even, thoe apparently coming close on several occasions be4 that) to have the "last of the jedi" theme going on... Would some1 point me to an obvious difference other than saying Vrook kicks Yodas arse cos he, well, came before him heh? I was under the impression the line from Kreia was refering to the jedi and sith of old old, comparing them to the order&sith she knew anyways. So on the "kick butt scale" they wouldn`t really rank that much higher imho. But I guess the notion of long lost lore knowledge an power is too romantic to dismiss heh... But going by that scale I`d go with the Order that fought the Brotherhood of Darkness in the New sith wars... they had a full head on war with the sith, picked up military ranks and a standing army of theirown allong the way, and were generally whooping eachothers buts with the dark lords... unlike the whole "cloak&dagger, dependant on 1 special guy to save the galaxy from a threath *directed* by the sith" thing other eras had going for them... So I guess the order that later gave up its power&army of light and reformed into the PT order takes the cake for being the most badass... Omf how geeky can you get brdavs... :/

    Books

Skipping throuigh The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy this past few weeks... after a few years on the shelve it`s still hits the spot heh Looking forward to Scott McClellan - What Happened thoe lol
  8. What "conspiracy"... I`m stating historical and documented facts. Things you can easily look up for yourself from nonpartisan sources. Just cause some of the connections are less then fitting to the "we hold the moral highground" PR stance does not automatically make them a figment of the imagination. I thought we would have realised the mantra "money makes the world go around" holds not a grain but a huge chunk of trouth by now heh... What do you want from me? A seminar on neoliberalism in economy and it`s effects and attempts at practice over the years? A economic analasys of pre and post occupation Iraq? Photos from distinguished economists of the said persuasion touring the transitional countries under the banner fo IMF using the debts as leverage to persuade them the radical model was the way to go? First hand recollections on what went down in a country that had no outstanding IMF debt and could tell those theorists "no" & pursued its own model of privatisation to become the most sucessfull transition country, while the before mentioned ended up in a world of pain for most and a utopia for a few? How bout you put some effort in, eh? But I guess it`s much easier to jump on the "it`s a conspiracy" wagon heh... God forbid we`d try getting a broader picture and creating oppinions of ourown. My knowledge of the past and present events leads me to the conclusion that there are substantional motivations not seen at first glance for the current and future "expeditions". And in a sense I actually take sollace from that. Atleast it`s not all nationalistic patriotism, blind prejudice and religious righteousness leading these events. Those I can`t realate to, greed I sorta can lol... Edit: the threat level of Iran is in all fairnes minute compared to the likes of China to Taiwan or Russia. But economic ties and respective military might dictate a different approach. An approach that works, apparently. And it would work with Iran too... why not utilize it then? It couldn`t be... other motivations, would it? lol, nah that`s crazy conspiracy talk lol. You people excell at creating crazy as heck outside enemies to fear beyond all reason you know... better said you excell at falling for the same trick over and over again. Heck it`s human nature I guess.
  9. They leave it to terrorist cowards to do their dirty work. Quick, some1 nuke Washington! Kettle, black lol. I do think Izrael is playing the "was victim so I get out of jail free card" into absurds and that history will note with much irony on how the opressed turned opressors, but I give little weight to the "zionists control america" stories. True, a powerfull lobby whith hefty connections to others for mutual benefit, but I believe americans are crazy&greedy enough on their own merrit lol I`m more inclined to "blame" the "Chickago School/Boys" and their neoliberal economic "experimentation". Whith their connections they`ve turned up everywhere they could, peddling their neoliberalism. From latin america(most notably Chile) to the transitional countries of Eastern Europe. And most recently ofcourse the "war on terror" redifined middle east. Great social or government unrests/conflictcs and shakeups are needed for a new "system to be put in place" you see... it`s only then that people are suseptible enough for it heh... And every time a virtual country inside a country is created, an economic entity (based on the "privileged" multinational corporations that moved in) that is absolutly floureshing. And around it the "RL" country and society that is falling to ruins and imploding. But the bussines is doing quite well in the meantime heh... In the end it`s mostly about profit... it`s just that the profit isn`t collected by the state, ergo you have a bigass deficit on paper, but by other people and business entities. Politics has allways been 98% economics. It`s just that with each passing year/decade the actors seem to loose a bit of "subtlety"... And when disasters that create opportunities run out... create yourown opportunities/disasters. Economics 101, constant expansion&growth lol.
  10. Actually it`s a bit of both heh... The KOTOR comics indeed came after the game(s) but the games also drew uppon several elements form the comics preceeding kotor (Golden age of the sith, U. Q-D and the beast wars of Onderon etc. etc. etc.) Quite a nice mix actually. If you`re not fammiliar with SW comics you get through the games none the wiser, but if you are there`s loads of candy in it...
  11. Not the most gifted player, but I agree that it's a pity he didn't get to play after helping United so much in the last few months. But then, Ferguson can be absolutely ruthless - one of his key weapons, really. Footballers seriously need to get over this new metrosexual soap drama stuff - Ronaldo cries every other game and suddenly all these 'big tough' British folks are breaking down, too. Shame on you for perpetuating the myth of emotional dullnes of men... if a guys fecks up at arguably one of the most significant moments of his life/carrer I`d say hes entiteled to squirt a few. That being said, seeing JT park his arse on the grass brought a big fat grin on my face. Couldn`t happen to a "nicer" guy, really.
  12. Russian Bear really is back with a vengeace lol, CSK, Zenit and now they whoop Canadas ass... only thing left is for Chelsea to win in Moscow heh...
  13. Why, how very considerate of you, thank you. God bless BSG for giving us that, eh lol. Twin ponytails ftw.
  14. Force Unleashed will pull a Mass Effect imho heh.
  15. I like this guy. He reminds me of myself, back when I still had wild brash hope and overoptimism. In 05 I think it was... Years change a man wolva, cherishe the innocence. Don`t let yourself be turned into desillusioned cynics like most of us are now. Personally... K3 trailer with FU? I think 2nd coming of Jesus is more likely. Would have made my day thoe heh... (K3, not Jesus.)
  16. I never understood all the crying about selkath or whatever they are... I actually find their alien voice amongst the least annoying ones since it`s the least distinguishable. With rodians etc etc you can pick up the patern of the basic what 5 lines pritty fast and it... gets... so... goddam... old. Maanan would have won k1 for me was it not for the underwater part. Politics and trials were quite fun actually. As such its a runner up to Taris wich without a doubt had the most genuine "real city planet" feel in both k1&2 to it. If they ever do a k3 and a courascant they better take a page out of the Taris book and burn the Naar Shaada one as far as ambiance and NPCs go.
  17. Well don`t hold your breath on that one, the age of having twice the potential party members than slots is over. The trend seems to be going towars lower numbers but greater depth. Can`t say I really mind that. I`ll take 9 solidly develped guys over 20 options of shallow/inconsequencial ones any day. BG nostalgia is getting the better of too many people imho heh...
  18. Manhater And remember boys, you have to be male for it to be sexist lol! All joking aside, never told my preference. Male/male. Can`t roleplay as enjoyably as a female for some strange reason. The "better than watching male bum" argument doesnt quite clinch the deal since you cant really say females have overly awsome behinds. Mission in certain armor allways reminded me of my mum. 14years old bum looking like a woman in 50s is just wrong heh.
  19. Cos that`s one of the still "socialy acceptable" gender stereotypes? Men be emotional cavemen an women be very sensual you know *ugh* *ugh* heh. Confusing, yea, and noone can explain it to you, you painstackenly pick it up over the years. But we can start you off with some basic tips: never EVER suggest it feels more natural playing male if going guardian cos insane damage kinda looks better with closet wide chests&shoulders or that Revan was better male, since the StarForge robes make the femail version look fat.
  20. Well killing him is but one of the options... I only mentioned it since you prolly have to "loose" your master if you want to become one heh... killing him would give the element of special circumstances to your situation and would help explain climbing the whole ladder from padawan to master in the measly 20is levels heh... But with that you loose the deeper mentorship thing you could have going on. Tradeoff I guess, 1 big one or 2 slightly more shallow heh... ideally you`d have a mentor in K3 and be the mentor in K4 but that aint gonna happen Personally I feel that having one would provide a much needed brake form the "renegade, last of and/or chosen one/insanely special" mold of SW heroes. I`d kinda like to move up trough the ranks of the order like some xyz grunt and get caught up into galactic events at some pivotal point, Zayne Carric style heh (cant believe I actually said that lol)...
  21. Thoe that is perhaps kinda the whole point lol? If you want the Code to mean something go with the choices relating to that. That`s the ultimate roleplay. Moving from just saying its a \"hard path\" to actually having it hard. What`s the big importance of it if it`s the only option heh... Ok, the turn down optios for Bastila are kinda lame, but the basic dillema is there. Just because the option to get nooky with her and train all your party into jedi is there that doesnt mean you have to take it. It`s you failing the code not the game makers. Only complaint you could have is the truly silly responses pushing you towards one specific direction... But if you`re serious you`ll let those slide I guess heh Personally I admint I`m weak. All jedi party rules and I just cant resist that damn british accent and twin ponytail. But yea, for K3 I`d like to see a more obi1-quigon mentorship thing going on, be you master or apprentice. Heck, why not both. Start of as padawan, get master killed, be a knight, get a padawan. (I can see the \"E1 rippof threads now, but I think it would be sweet)... So, if you have jedi convertable party members a cap of one padawan may be sensible. Not only it`d tie things more to the PT (since the rebuild order will prolly be the PT one)... + not to mention the increased replayabillity
  22. Wish not for "his line gone" for many you hold could very well dissappear aswell heh... And it was not as muh as a snear at how things progressed in Iraq but at the the irony of the fact that we are supposed to be figthing agains people demostrating such behaveour as you do heh... For instance, tell me for one millisecond that the worlds riches are distrubuted fairly and that the twins were not a symbol of the grave injustice suffered by a vast majority of worlds population then. Oh and btw, I`d put it to you that your vintage 19th century views of life&global politicis would land a German in a truckload of trouble these days, but I`d prolly get into trouble myself heh... I`ll just settle archiving this reference amongst many others of fundamental lack of respect for life, culture & ideology not to our "taste". Then everytime a thread comes up of how "they" have barbaric customs or how a certain distastefull thig was celebrated on the streets or how our ideals are trampeled etc. thus somehow justifying our policies towars the "midleage men" I can have a nice laugh of the "kettle-black" variety.
  23. And the west proves its moral civilizatonal and cultural superiority once more lol... n1 peeps. And the same ones will be fuming at the mouths when palestinians are popping bubbly come september memorials heh. But you sorta gotta give one thing to Sadam. He went with style despite all the **** they threw at him at the execution. A sorrid state of affairs that was. But then again, what isn`t, my interventionisim prone friends heh?
  24. It`s arguably about ambitious space exploration in general. And that needs political backing, since we`re rellying on governments. Political backing that tends to be reluctant if it laks short term benefits of an ideological one over someone else... Maybe Obama gets elected and cuts NASA budget in favor of healthcare or McCain gets elected and cuts it in favor of an Iran war lol. my appologies for believing that ppl can make advances even if not asociated with the ISS? ISS that both US and Russia have on\off plans of ditching btw. What "glory days of the cold war"? Christ, "competition" is a cornerstone of our capitalism and a big factor in our development as a species. So yea, I do believe rival spaceprograms are a good thing. Different approaches, motivation to outdo etc. etc. Doesnt necesarilly mean we have to go back to nearly blowing eachother up. What`s with the cold war fobia of subconsciously marginalising and devaluing any contribution a nonwestrn country might turn up providing lol? I may see "the worst in things" but my view is based on the history of human kind and space exploration. What is your "optimism based on if I may ask? just how has the world fundamentally changed in the past lets say 500 years? The discovery of the new world led to a race for it, and looking at the papers today (re fosile fuels and indeed antartica to an extent) I`d say that, barring some great unification hit, a race for the new world(s) is not so unplausable. Call me a pessimist but things like "star wars programme" and arming of buran and missle defence systems springing up are hardly confidence inspiring. Note also that one of the biggest obstacles to thigs like the Earth space elevator are the political and military implications of which entetie would control said megastructure etc. etc. Now I wish I lived in the hunky dory universe you do, but from what I see I don`t, and I call`em as I see them. I do like your fait in humanity and it`s adminisrations thoe, very cutely naive
