  1. I sincerely doubt that any man who takes the time and energy into finding women's clothing that fits him in an attractive manner would have such poor fashion sense as to want to dress like Leia. That empress deal Padime wore in the Phantom Menace, however, is another story altogether.
  2. I think long, flowing robes are not possible given the graphics engine available. Drakron: "The female should look like this. " And then they wonder why people say CRPGers need to get some.
  3. Am I the only one that thinks the original post was meant to be taken humorously? I thought it was quite amusing myself.
  4. Ahh, Console verses PC, the endless debate continues. Personally, I only game on a PC except when I game socially. One of my fondest memories from college was turning off all the lights and playing Silent Hill 2. There's nothing quite like the sound of five girls howling in fear behind you while you're trying to run down a narrow hall away from pyramid head.
  5. Servent of Eru: "He is to Candyman what Squarenix males are to Max Payne." Candyman? Squarenix? " 2. He is THE MOST USELESS party member in the game." After I became a Jedi, I spent most of my fights alone or with Bastila or HK-47. I don't remember Carth being that useless but, then again, I never paid attention. " He is made in the image personality-wise of Darth Woo, that is worthy of hate in it's own respect." Who is Darth Woo? " The Bioweenies made it so that you could only have the pleasure of killing his ass if you were playing as a fem PC, who followed through with the romance dialogues; which is also unfortunately the setting you're most likely to develop a fondness for him." I think that the majority of female *players* would prefer Canderous (Your Candyman?) to Carth. It's interesting how male-romance NPCs always seem a bit bland when compared to their female counterparts. As the majority of game creators are male, I always thought they'd make the male romance NPC more James Bond/Dirty Harry/Spike like. " P.S. I assume you're an Asimov fan from your screenname, but I could be wrong. Please confirm or allay my suspicions" I based the screen name on a character in Shakespeare's 'The Tempest' but I know what book you're referring to and, yes, I am an Asimov fan.
  6. Titan: "just curious!! i loved it in outcast, but i really think it would be rad as a force power. just hold your hand up towards a dark jedi, and watch their arms going flying off their body. now that would be entertaining!!" More likely, the Dark Jedi would be doing this to you. I don't see this as a Light Side power. "as far as darth maul's guts spilling out when he got chopped in half...well maybe the lightsaber just instantly cauterized the wounds, so no guts could spill out." You can cauterize the circulatory system but you'd have to pinch together a length of small intestine in order to seal it that way. (Think sausages) But even if they did manage to cauterize all the wounds, his viscera would still fall out because they're be nothing holding them in
  7. Before I played Knights of the Old Republic, I had no interest in Star Wars, the Star Wars RPG, or the Star Wars universe. I picked up the game because I enjoy CRPGs and I had heard this was a good one. Now, I still don't know that much about the Star Wars universe so I rarely am bothered by the idea that Jedi aren't uber-powerful, that the d20 rules weren't used, or that there are no robotic arms. However, it is important to remember that Knights of the Old Republic might not have been as successful if it didn't have the Star Wars fan community around it. It's possible that without them there would be no second game. A gaming community is just that, it's a collection of different people with different wants and desires. Simply because I don't share those specific desires doesn't mean they're not valid.
  8. oumquatq: "Wow, do you have a "Needlessly Anal Buddy" that forces you to type that?" If I were needlessly anal I'd have correct all of the spelling mistakes on that page and in this thread. Instead, I've created spelling buddy who brings spelling errors to the attention of posters in a polite and friendly manner. Some people don
  9. If I had been addressing someone in particular, kumquatq, I would have done just that.
  10. I voted for Bigger Worlds, just to please the poster above me.
  11. Kumquatq3: " I reread, and my post remains " Actually, my post wasn't directed at you nor did I have any disagreement with the point you had just made. Vyperhand: " [Force Persuade] You want to change your preferences to not include hairy animals." The last thing you want on your starship is a wookie suffering from sexual frustration. Trust me on this: Let the wookie get some. Evil.E: " I always felt that romances in the middle of stories where the galaxies fate lyes in the balance were a bit far fetched. It's like your characters have no clue as to the gravity of what's at stake." People who undergo traumatic situations together (like constantly being attacked or trying to save the universe) tend to develop intense bonds. Likewise, it was implied that Bastila was your soul mate, it's not like she's just some girl you picked up in a bar on your way to the next Epic Battle. Gorth: " The Bastila romance was silly. She showed about as much warmth and passion as a tax statement." Yes, but she has a British accent. Do not underestimate the power of a British accent.
  12. This pocket is... evil. I feel the dark side is strong in these pants.
  13. Tyrell: " The prequels are made to be judged by watching all 3 of them. All 3 are little bits and pieces to a bigger story. They are like chapters to a book rather then a book themselves." Tyrell, you don't have to eat an entire omelet to know that you don't like it. If people disliked one and two, there's very little chance they'll love them after watching three. If four combined hours of a story don't move you then you probably won't like the story. That said, when episode three comes out, it will do wonderfully at the box office and millions will go see it. What more could you ask for? TripleRRR: " Then you must not have played many RPGs pal, Bastila is okay, but there are quite a few better ones." Simply because you do not agree with someone, doesn't mean they're inexperienced. I have played a wide variety of RPGs and while I don't consider her the 'best'
  14. Jedi Kathrin: "gerr..I love the sappy romances in Kotor, what can this girl say I'm a sap. I would love to see more romances...ever same sex relashionships that go a bit be on friendship would be a good apeal to all sexualites." Spelling Buddy Sez: Relationships, beyond, appeal, sexualities I don't remember the exact quote but I believe a developer was talking about wanting to move beyond the 'romance only' role of NPCs. I think I would like to see complex relationships that aren't based around sexual desire. Jedi Master Revan: " Romances suck there no need to have them in the game, all it does is waste time. I rather see more killing or something of the like." I think you'd prefer a first person shooter to a role-playing game. There are many people who disagree with your viewpoint and if adding romances increases the appeal of the game then it is not a waste of time. Craftsman: " This is Star Wars, lets keep it natural. No same sex realasionships." Your comment is needlessly offensive. If you
  15. Sorry for not responding to this earlier. Blessed Sith: " Uhh, I thought that's what my post said, Maria."[/i] No, our posts reflect two very different viewpoints. "Male and female together is male." Again, not quite. "It's not a big jump for you to think the leader of the opposition, when you never see their face, is male as well. And I don't remember the game being in Mandalorian . . ." No, it's not a big jump for *you*. I have no delusions about women being more kind, caring, and loving than men. If a leader takes pains to conceal their face and gender then I'm not going to assume they're male. But, as I said before, it doesn't matter what you or I assume. What matters is what Canderous assumes as he is the one speaking. Canderous is a Mandalorian so Mandalorian culture would influence his response. I don't know how prevalent female leaders are in his culture, do you? " Aren't "Latinate" languages "Romance" languages?" Yes, 'Latinate' means derived from or imitative of Latin while 'Romance' is the term for all languages derived from Latin. They are synonymous. " And it wasn't any effing stand for women's rights or s***, sheesh,
  16. jaberwacki: "I think the most important thing is story. I want another game with a story as good as plainscape torment. " Spelling Buddy Sez: "Planescape" Maria, who likes people who are way behind and way forward.
  17. If a lightsaber produces enough heat to boil water then it would depend on where you were. The water at the bottom of the ocean is quite cool - unless you're near a thermal vent
  18. Earlier you defined immersion stuff as "hoods, robes, [and] hilts." Is that what you're still referring to when you talk about Ultima 7? As far as clothing goes, I'm rather indifferent to it. If I wanted to dress something in 500 different outfits then I'd break out my dolls.
  19. Opus: " Looks arounds, sees all the retarded questions, polls, suggestions and obsbure and irrilevant personal feuds
  20. I can and I am doing so right now for Knights of the Old Republic. It will be safely tucked away with the couple dozen patches I already possess for my computer games. I'm simply posting a suggestion as it comes to me and I enjoy the frustration of waiting. They could just get rid of auto-updates all together and that would be a different type of solution.
  21. I decided this afternoon that I wanted to play Knights of the Old Republic again as I only played a light side character originally. I quickly loaded up the game and now I'm stuck here for the next three and a half hours as it downloads various patches. I understand that patches are an inevitable and, perhaps, necessary evil but I've already downloaded the patch and see no reason why I should have to wait a second time to do so. Therefore, I'd appreciate it if the patching file was treated like a saved character or game, you could choose to have it deleted or not when you uninstall the game. That's it. Thank you for your consideration.
  22. Speaking of which, why didn't I lose light side points when Bastila and Reven kissed? Passion is passion.
  23. I have had no errors. I only serch using Member names, however.
  24. Chris Avellone: "You know, about Critical Strike, it actually was pretty powerful as it stood - when we were looking over revamping the rules and feats from the first game, Critical Strike was one we didn't want to mess with, since with the right combo of lightsaber crystals and repeated use of Critical Strike, you could plow your way through hordes of enemies without too much trouble. And that's without any Force powers paralyzing your opponents." Interesting... I obviously didn't get the right blend of crystals. Let me take that sentence back then.
