What did KOTOR 1 lack for you?
pharcyde replied to Craftsman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
1. Skills were utterly useless for my character. 2. Why anyone would want to use a blaster is beyond me. There's no benefit to using a blaster. 3. The jedi robes were pretty weak looking. There wasn't much variety in the looks department. The only variations were the stats and colors. Must have flowing robes. 4. More Exar Kun. 5. Different lightsaber hilts. 6. All the sith looked the same. I was tired of running into those jobber sith that always gave me the "Malak was most displeased" speech before I cut them down. -
Dueling feat or Double Weapon feat?
pharcyde replied to Zach Morris's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The funny thing is, you didn't even need the double weapons feat to properly weild a double bladed lightsaber. -
These vehement "valley is wrong" fanboys are almost as annoying as "Bobba Fett lives" fanboys.

Wow Darth Nuke. Maybe you should relax about the valley of the sith lords. So BIOWARE didn't make the valley exactly how it is portrayed in the comics. Is it really that important? Did it really change your experience with KOTOR? Give me a break. Also, please learn proper spelling and grammar. Your posts give me a headache.

Darth Revan vs Darth Vader
pharcyde replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Vader's skill with the force doesn't impress me at all in the OT. We see him use choke, move objects with the force and do some kind of force jump. Thats it? Not impressed. His skill with a lightsaber is pretty weak as well. Vader is overrated. And people give him way too much credit. Chosen one this, chosen one that. Midichlorian count blah blah(any self respecting fan of star wars should automatically ignore anything to do with midichlorians). I have yet to see Vader do anything that warrants all the hype around him being such a bad ass. Hopefully Episode III will change this. -

An easy way to win in any lightsaber battle...
pharcyde replied to Eddo36's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Corran Horn did this move while sparring with Mara Jade. He didn't impale her in the face but he did the on/off trick. -
Why someone would want to play a KOTOR game as a non-jedi is beyond me. Also. you don't have to use your force powers or lightsaber. There are plenty of other weapons you can use. These militant rpg extremists amuse me.

Jedi first. Sith second.

Nothing is soiled. It's just a nod to the EU so NJO star wars fans can go, "wait, was that a vong reference?"
-
What?

Master speed. Having those extra attacks is just devastating.

which was the best jedi class from Kotor
pharcyde replied to anakins revenge's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I always played as a guardian. I focus on lghtsaber combat rather than using force powers. I figured if i was a jedi id like to be a mace windu type, who is a master at the use of a lightsaber. -
Are the Jedi based upon the Samurai?
pharcyde replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
There is no doubt in my mind that there is a big samurai influence when it comes to jedi. Also, A New Hope heavily borrows ideas from Akira Korusawa's Hidden Fortress. -
I like how people bash others and question why people use glitches and exploits like the FLU. Maybe its because we have beaten the game several times and need some sort of replay value? Using the FLU is just fun because you can create a character that absolutely dominates. I'm not saying the only way the game should be played is by using exploits. I'm saying once someone has beaten the game and needs something new and fresh, its ok to use the FLU glitch.

Guardian/Weapon Master Force powers dont really interest me. All I care about is being one bad mother with a saber.

Most Powerful Sith Lord Ever?
pharcyde replied to Darth Sirius's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Exar Kun isn't on the list therefor making it completely invalid. What an awful list. -
The Star Forge robes make me look like a woman
pharcyde replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Qel-Droma robes > star forge robes -
Funny, I thought the addition of the Yuuzahn Vong was awesome. Although the thing I like most about Star Wars are Jedi, I was tired of the Jedi being completely uber and unstopable. There's a sense of danger and the possibility of a main character getting killed off in every book. They set the dark tone early by killing off Chewy. Plus how many times have we seen Jedi vs Sith? The NJO is some of the best EU has to offer.

I'd love to see a main villian kill off an important party member.

hmmm I saw no difference from the other demo posted. That first jedi character that is shown seems to have a white lightsaber. -
TSL interview at TheForce.net
pharcyde replied to Fardragon's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yes or you think a sequel were you continue to play a character that is over 20 levels at start is worth playing? It would look like a god damn arms race and take any credibility out of the story when rancor class enemies would be common grunts at start. Its silly, the universe cannot support such characters, I managed to pry someone information out of BioWare tight mouth were they basic said they designed SW:KotOR to reach maximun power at the end, I can understand such reasoning (however I disagree with implement it) and its the main reason SW:KotOR could not have a direct sequel, because it was not designed to be that way. At the end Revan could beat Yoda and Palpatine, he was supposed to be that badass at the end. If SW:TSL allows a direct sequel naturaly it have to follow BG1 design, allow party to only reach mid levels so the next game starts as mid and allow progression to late mid - early high levels (depending on if such game intends to have a direct sequel or not), its not too hard and can actually makes us play the game instead of play to level. To me all this comparing to Palpatine and Yoda stuff is silly. I guess some people are pretty hardcore when it comes to character levels and how it fits in with the d20 star wars universe and what not. I find that stuff very trivial and not important at all. I Just play the game and not worry that my character is more powerful than yoda because yoda is level 17 omg!11!!!one! That stuff is so irrelevant to me it never crosses my mind.
