God I hate Juhani...

How would she be younger in a 3rd installment? I thought the logical choice for a 3rd game would be a step forward in the story? Either way, I too would like to see her return if there is a 3rd game... although I am not entirely fussed on how. Somehow though I highly doubt that she would be able to be romanced, especially by the Exile. The exile's time for character development was in K2. Don't get me wrong though, I thought that it was unfortunate that she wasnt a 'love' interest in K2 (all that tension!), which is why I hope she plays some part in any future KOTOR game... however I wont be holding my breath. I agree she looked SO much better in the artwork.. and her voice was a bit irritating... prissy like Bastila's voice, only more annoying - Dan

Jivin replied to JediMasterNalik's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I have only played through KOTOR2 as a Male... but when in that game I was the one and only.... Edwuado DeSilva!! Yarrghh!! -
I think they were insignificant... I am not sure exactly how that works (eg: what thy were doing on the Ebon Hawk), but they were lying dead in the same room as Kreia... nothing special I dont think? - Dan

What fundamental force power would you want

Yeah there is some dialogue afterwards too Yeti. Grab KOTOR Tool and open up '852sacri.dlg' for the dialogue file, or go to the 852sacri folder for the audio. This is one possible dialogue tree: Visas - {As she lies dying, doesn't have much time left.} Was... was it enough? Exile - Your sacrifice was enough. Visas - {Relieved} Ah... then at last... I can die. Will... you... will you stay... until...? Exile - I shall watch over you until death comes. Visas - I... I did not want to leave this life yet... it was weakness, but for you, I... I... {takes a breath, steadies herself} Visas - {Whispers, faint}My life for yours. {Moment of silence as the player stares down at Visas. After a few seconds, he turns away and walks away from Visas.} {Camera shows the player from the front of the player, with Visas' body lying in the background.} Mandalore - {Referring to Visas} Her death was worthy of a Mandalorian. Exile - Visas deserved better. She was stronger than she knew. Of course there is a number of possible options that generally involve the Exile being a truly evil S.O.B :D - Dan

I think a ragdoll physics engine and destroyable environments would add to the game in a similar way to how updating the graphics themselves would. That said, I would love to see both new graphics and the introduction of ragdoll physics, however fully destroyable environments is something I think isn't worth the development time it would take to impliment. A proper physics engine can add a lot to a game in subtle ways, and I definitely think it would be worth it. - Dan

Help with the KOTOR storyline
Jivin replied to Darth_Plagus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I understand where you are coming from totally, but you would probably be better off just doing as many forum searches as you can think of and just read the mountains of stuff already posted, and then if you have further more specific questions then post again and ask. I wanted to ask exactly the same question when I first joined up, and I basically did, and people were kind enough to help me out with some answers, but in hindsight its easy to see now how annoying it must be for established members to cover the same territory over and over and over again There its LOTS of great stuff to read throught on this forum though, so do some searches on the topics your interested in.. you wont regret it - Dan edit: here is a link to the post I made ages ago... http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=32742&hl= who knows, maybe it will help. -
Star Wars III, hottest actress??
Jivin replied to jedione12's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Gee, couldn't see THAT one coming :D - Dan -
Visas is a very complex character who a lot of people just brush off, but regardless I had always thought the love thing wasnt dependant on any force orientation, as it isnt force orientation that drew her to the exile in the first place. Her character has a significant story and she progresses a lot throughout the game andI thought the process of bring her back to the light side was definitely one of the cooler parts of the game for me, but without a doubt for such a complex character they definitely needed more dialogue. The love thing was cool I guess... but in most ways I would have rathered they cut that out in favour of more normal dialogue time as she progresses on her path back to the light or further to the dark side (as well as maybe some more dialogue after nihilius death?). I mean its not like the love thing was unexpected, but it wasnt ENTIRELY necessary either, given that the rest of her development as a character was a bit underdone... *ducks* On a sidenote, being much the same in nature, I MUCH preferred Visas to Juhani. Perhaps it is because Visas wasn't a russian catwoman... but I would like to think its because such a complex character was much more suited to the style of game KOTOR2 presented. (as opposed to the more transperant style of KOTOR1) - Dan

Revans Controntation With The True Sith...
Jivin replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
IIRC there was no mention of the True Sith in K1. I would say that at no stage of the development of K1 was a sequel determined; certainly Bioware weren't going to make it so they weren't too interested in adding costs to their build to add stuff that no-one could know was needed because the plot hadn't been worked out yet. The whole "Revan has gone to the Outer Rim" device was used to remove the character from the first game totally from the universe, so that the sequel could use the same universe and not run into Revan (and all the mess that would ensue to describe Revan / physicality / motives / alignment / etc). Nothing more. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As I had thought Cheers, - Dan -
Revans Controntation With The True Sith...
Jivin replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I suppose I had just assumed that he remembered the information he had found at the academy at Malachor V and Korriban. It is said that the academy there and the academy on Korriban lay on the borders of the True Sith empire (although it may not have been said like that, and I didnt mean it literally), and that the information held in these places that Revan visited would lead one to the True Sith (and maybe even reveal that they seek to bring war on the jedi/republic again soon?). So from my LSM game perspective he remembered such things and realised he had to go off to "fight them" or whatever. - Dan PS: I had also vaugely remember Kreia saying in the game that the information at Malachor V actually led Revan to Korriban... but I am quite sure I remember her also saying that collectively what Revan discovered was of the existance of the True Sith and perhaps (most likely) a means of reaching their empire in unexplored space. I had just sort of assumed most of this was at Malachor V, becuase it appears that after the events of KOTOR2 the Exile is ready to head off to fight the True Sith as well.... I also really dont see why Bioware coudlnt have included something on this after the "party" at the end of KOTOR1. It wouldnt have taken much of a cutscene to quickly cover Revan remembering the stuff or whatever and then leaving everyone behind to go off and do whatever with the True Sith. Then again I guess its really easy to say that in retrospect, but are we just to beleive that they didn't do that because at hte time of KOTOR1 they weren't planning on their being a sequel? (were the True Sith even mentioned at all in KOTOR1?) -
There should have been a "What the hang is Fable?" option - Dan

Star Wars III, hottest actress??
Jivin replied to jedione12's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Natalie Portman looked good in SWIII from the tiny bit ive seen of her in the previews. I dont always think she is 'hot' in other things, but in Star Wars (especially 2 and from the looks of it, 3) she works for me That Amy Allen is quite a good looking lady as well though. Is she a technical director or something? that got offered a spot playing a twilek? Her IMDB listing records some technical roles in movie making? - Dan -
Idea for new sneak attack weapon in KOTOR
Jivin replied to Eddo36's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I don't know... A lightsaber is meant to be a weapon of style, skill and elegance and as far as Jedi is concerned more of a defensive weapon than an offensive one. So with both those things in mind, the idea doesn't quite sit right with me. I know what your saying is that there would be skill involved in hitting the right points, but that sort of skill would be a hard and sort of silly thing to work into a videogame I think. The idea of sneaking up on someone and jabbing a small lightsaber into them just seem to gel very well with me Too 'Splinter Cell' haha I'll give you one thing though, your certainly an ideas man - Dan -
Did anyone else just get a KOTOR II survey?
Jivin replied to Sir Cedric's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Thanks a bunch for the link, I am very happy I got to have my say on the game "officially" . I honestly hope they use the information they receive and we end up with an awesome K3 - Dan -
Oh, I like-a de boobies, don't you worry about that

As opposed to the women in any OTHER game? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You'll have to forgive me, I haven't played lots of other games, but of the ones I have played not all of the women were busty like the ones in KOTOR and KOTOR2 I'm not saying its an important issue... I mean its just entertainment, and on the flipside its not like you see lots of fat non-buff men cruising around. - Dan

Finishing KOTOR 2 in 7 hours
Jivin replied to CanterwoodBoy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
e-willy+++ "mines bigger" -
Is it just me, or do all of the women in KOTOR games have huge breasts? Not that im complaining or anything... but I wonder what the vibe was like in the design offices of Bioware/Obsidian when these characters were being drawn and modelled I voted Bastila, but Mira and Visas are right up there - Dan

Disciple reminds me a lot of this really really REALLY annoying guy I used to work with. If I had the chance, I would take him out on the Ebon Hawk when no-one was looking and throw him out a window.... as long as I didnt lose LS points... but really, even a Jedi has his limits. Handmaiden.

Haha, yeah don't worry, I wasn't having a go at you... I didn't mean raving literally I was only meaning I remembered someone (which seems to have been you) mentioning it, so I assumed it was a topic that the community thought was pretty cool... but I was wrong, and the video was nothing new anyway We probably had similar intentions - Dan
-
I meant no offense in my posts... although in retrospect I can see how it would have looked like I was having a go. I always play nice :D
-
Too right its not as bad as that. The only reason this thread is "bad" is because there are people out there who have a superiority complex and deal with threads by people who haven't played the game as much as them the wrong way. I had completely legitimate intentions, I just had no way of knowing it was an overdone topic. I've only seen the video once, but from what I could see she was hood-less and here eyes looked normal and blinking ect... Now that you mention it Darth Flatus, perhaps that is just what she looks like at the end, but for the life of me I can't remember specifics like that from the end now. If I was wrong, then yeah, its a pretty pointless topic unless there is someone out there who had no idea this video existed. So I guess if your not one of those people or you dont have anything worthwhile to add, then keep your pie hole shut and just let the thread die. - Dan
