I wouldn't care if they introduced a new character for KOTOR3 (Just like others, I have said in another post on this topic that it would be cool if the PC character in KOTOR3 was a jedi trained/in training at a new academy run by the KOTOR2 characters (and perhaps bastila too, if it suits, seeing as she was alive in kotor2), but thats just an idea and I haven really explored the feasibility of it myself). That said though, it was more the conclusion of the OTHER party members that I am more interested in. The exile's story came to a sufficient close as far as I was concerned.... or at least it didn't leave me in a totally confused and annoyed state What crapped me was that after the Malachor V "landing" you dont get to see your companions at all... Don't get me wrong... I see where you are coming from and I understand, but in my opinion, whether or not there is a new character for kotor3 is irrelevant, as I think they could give sufficient closure to the stories of the existing companions from the previous games regardless of who the PC character is. - Dan

Despite the fact that on the whole I enjoyed the game I still don't think I can firmly take one side or another in this. All I know is that I felt extremely empty after finishing KOTOR2... I personally wasn't too upset that the storyline was left as a bit open/unfinished (depending on your view), but my main beef was that the character relationships and storylines weren't finished up in an at all satisfying way. This in a way is intertwined with the storyline I know, but I think you will get where I am coming from. I wont go into detail because I have voiced my opinion on this before, but the ending certainly did lack a lot from my perspective. This was compounded by the fact that regarding the characters from KOTOR2, the developers intentions for the 3rd game weren't made clear at all... (which I would have thought would be the least they could do seeing as they replaced the real ending with the lame "look into the crystal ball" one) so I have no idea if im ever going to get the closure I seek - Dan

Who knows, maybe we will get lucky and we will get real character endings for all the main people at the start/end of kotor3 (hey, shut up! its possible! ) I agree with basically everything you said too, with the exception of the underdone characters... and in that case I agree with TetsuJedi - Dan

Hi Just really quickly... i'm on the Leviathan and Malak has just told me the big news about who Edwuado DeSilva (me ) really is. As the conversation panned out it sounded like despite Bastila saying she saved revan from death, she was basically using me for info, so when I got the chance, I chose the "you used me! your no better than a sith!" option. Now i dont really care that much, but i dont want her to die, so like... should I have chosen the "i forgive you" option? I wont replay it just so I can feel good about myself (lol), but I would be really angry if I go get my last star map and then go to save her only to find out that of the two options the "you used me" one was the Dark Side one and then I no choice but to kill/abandon her or whatever... So is that the case? or does that choice back in the malak conversation not have an impact on the way things pan out with Bastila? Thanks - Dan

I know its not as good as getting "real time" discussion, but you will find lots of worthwhile stuff on this forum by using the search function Should be enough to keep you going for a while at least... there is some good stuff that has been posted here! - Dan

Unfortunately I do not have a good knowledge of the philosophy of which the original poster spoke of, and due to that I have no current standing on whether or not I beleive it. Given that, I cannot tell you "exactly" why my post relates to the philosophy, and I am sorry if my post read as if I was attacking your beleifs on the matter. I was more responding to your comment: its an extremely typical, ignorant thing to say. This isn't an appropriate place to get into a debate on such things, and given the small amount we know about each other and our respective beleifs, it could be that we have nothing really to debate anyway. I took a small amount of offense to your comment, and thats what I was commenting on... I don't really feel there is any need to go on with it any further though. No hard feelings. Cheers, - Dan

Philosophers are generally full of crap. I've read philosophy, I should know. Steady on there! Anyone with such a ridiculously ignorant point of view doesn't know. Fair enough that you dont subscribe to the validity of philosphy, but it has an important role in the world we live in (and beyond even?) and is the study of those who beleive that there is more to our existance than what you can read in a physics textbook. I will certainly not be the one to tell you what to beleive, but please try to keep an open mind, or at least keep thoughts from a closed one to yourself. On topic though... its interesting that you would try and relate the philosphy you read with the game, however as others have pointed it, it doesn't really set sail Interesting though. Yeah.. this thread is meant to be about the good things in KOTOR2. I understand that part of discussing that is naturally going to mean some healthy debate over the issues with the game and stuff like that, but there is no need to turn it into a big drawn out argument between two people... and an thats already been had before at that. - Dan

OH YEAH! Finally beat that fool... I'm not sure what did it.. but he went down, along with his filthy friends! muahah! One thing though... possibly due to the way I handled the Sith Enclave situation.. but it appears I am banned from Manaan... and yet I got given a message on Tatooine telling me to meet some guy there? I also wanted to go back anyway to conclude the mission for the guy who wants to know why the republic was hiring mercs, but I never got the chance... is this a bug? or is it normal... haha, well im not quite that extreme... it took me 48 hours to finish KOTOR2, and I managed to spread that out over 1-2 weeks... good entertainment This however, has still got me stumped... I went to Kashyyk, but sure enough, I meet with Darth Bondan there as well, which leads me to beleive there is measures in the game to balance out the difficulty, regardless of what order you visit the plantets... needless to say I am still helpless against him, even with Bastila fighting too. I just can't help but think I have missed soemthing that would even the odds a bit... im a level 7 jedi consular, if that helps. I do my best to structure the battle, and I have energy shields on everyone, but usually either they focus on me and kill me in a second or two flat... or it gets drawn out a bit and I spend most of my time frantically trying to use force heal/medpacs, which of course is only delaying the inevitable Ahhh! Up until now, in both this and KOTOR2 I would always encounter tough spots, but with a bit of perseverance I would eventually get it... but I have been through this countless times and im all out of ideas! - Dan

Hi! Weird question perhaps, but here goes... I'm on Korriban (this is my 2nd planet after Dantooine) and I have just come up against Malak's apprentice (after trying hard to figure out how far to take the whole 'fake sith' thing...). It's ridiculous! I have absolutely no chance of beating him, and I have tried at least 2 or 3 different party combinations, and regardless I just cannot beat him, and whenever I come even remotely close, he pulls out a ridiculously strong force whirlwind or lightning and I get killed basically in one go... Any suggestions? or should I just forget all i'd done here, load a saved game and go to Yavin or Kshyykk (or whatever) instead? Cheers, - Dan
