No, I tend to agree more with Scorchy... http://fromearth.net/LetsPlay/KOTOR%202/Up...2025/index.html

What is your favorite STAR WARS aircraft?
Jediphile replied to walkerguy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Not nearly the most retarded SW superweapon ever, though. That title goes to those World Devastators of Dark Empire comics. Only turning into giant humanoid robots would have made those things sillier than they were already and they were undone by stupid AI despite having crews on board. Come on, what's the point of having a crew on board if they are helpless when some little astromech droid hijacks the system? Well, perhaps that was a case of Palpatine having serious trust issues. Right. Because stupid AI causing trouble for an entire staff never happens in the real world... Odd, because somehow I didn't find that plot development to be too unbelievable. -

I doubt that. While Roslin does indeed share some dreams with the known cylons of Galactica (Athena and Six), that has probably more to do with the cylon blood she has in her system after Baltar gave her a transfusion to save her from dying of cancer. Still, there was a clue back in season 3's "A Measure of Salvation", I think. Assuming the Final Five can become sick from the disease that infected the other cylons of that dying basestar, the last cylon cannot be Apollo, Helo, Adama, or Roslin, because they all met with an infected Simon/Number Four and would have been exposed to the disease. We could argue that the Final Five are not subject to the disease, but note that none of the known Final Five - Tyrol, Tigh, Tory or Anders - were ever in the same room as an infected cylon. That looks like a pretty big coincidence to me. Of course, Starback also did not meet with an infected cylon, and if she is a cylon, then it can naturally explain her apparent resurrection. Then again, maybe making Starbuck a cylon is too obvious given how season 3 ended. I have a feeling Ron Moore is aiming to give the identity of the last cylon as much shock value as he can get away with... and then some

I agree the story was worse in the sense of being highly derivative of the original trilogy's plot, that it had a godawful twist (how many games do we have to play as an amnesiac who needs to find out, who he is?), and that it had a pathetic end boss... Well, it was Malak, otherwise known as Mr. Cheesy. Just listen to him laugh once to get a good idea of how he lost his jaw... I don't see that the locations or combat were any worse than TSL, though. Certainly any part of K1 is better than Malachor V in TSL, sadly. Overall I think I like the K1 companions as much as the TSL companions. I like their interaction in TSL better, though the rushed state of the game makes K1 look a lot more polished by comparison. I definitely think the pacing is better in K1, though. Being a more finished product that incluces dramatic pacing, and TSL is told terribly in places, some of which are key to the plot. As much as I like TSL, I too went "WTF?!?" on first finishing it - it's not that plot doesn't hang together. At all. Indeed, it makes perfect sense, but you need to play through the last third of the game a few times to pick up on it all. That's bad dramatic pacing. TSL suffered a great deal in that regard from the rushed deadline.

KOTOR2: TSL & Windows Vista - THE FIX
Jediphile replied to Mark3w's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Weird. I run TSL on Vista Home Premium, and while the program frequently has trouble starting and has crashed during the switch to or from the cutscenes, it otherwise runs without trouble so far, though I'll admit that I've only actually played it until I reached Citadel Station. Mostly it's a question of getting the program to start, which can take a few tries. But it runs, it does so smoothly for me. -
I think it's more likely to be a major character. I'm leaning towards Starbuck.

I like that the secret meeting took place in "Weapons Locker 1701D" - an obvious little nod to Ron Moore's Trek days on TNG So... Who is the last cylon?

Sure, but that could still be a while off. Didn't 8bXX go into the 20s or something like that? Since the betatesters are really looking for bugs now and the project is facing public release rather than "merely" the next step in development, it could be even more - if I were Team Gizka, I'd want to be sure everything works, before I'd release the project considering all the attention it has received. EA doesn't share that philosophy, and it made them millions I suppose the obvious observation is that other game companies don't either, or else we wouldn't have TSLRP and Team Gizka in the first place - oops, I'm still typing!

Wrong. Upon attaining the rank of jedi knight, not master, Obi-Wan could take a padawan, if he chose to. However, only potentials trained in the order are usually eligible. The council's dispensation lay in them letting him take Anakin, even though he was judged too old to join the order, not in allowing Obi-Wan to take a padawan. When Yoda mentions Qui-Gon's defiance of the council, he speaks about his choice to take Anakin against the wishes of the council, not about Qui-Gon training a padawan at all, which they clearly accepted. And they were masters because they trained padawans. Yes, jedi master are established in the order, but the term is ambiguous.
-
Not sure if Cin Drallig counts. It depends on what you mean by "jedi master", which is a highly ambiguous term in that it can mean three things: 1. A prestige class, as seen in TSL. 2. Any jedi who has taken a padawan, but may or may not be on the council. E.g., Qui-Gon. 3. Any member of the Jedi High Council, whether they have a padawan or not. E.g., Atris. Now, I don't count option 1, since it only exists in game terms. Besides, judging from the description, Cin Drallig seems more like a "jedi weapon master" anyway. But the description says very clearly that he was not on the Jedi High Council, so he would not count as a master in the sense that Mace Windu, Obi-Wan, Yoda, Ki-Adi Mundi, Plo Koon, Saesee Tiin or Kit Fisto do. You could count him as a master only in the sense of training jedi and having padawans. But I do believe when people talk about Anakin killing a master, they're talking about members of the jedi high council, in which case Cin Drallig would not count.

You might have gone straight for all the influence increases you could get with Kreia. I usually don't do that because I prefer to play LS, and Kreia's influence gains often come with DS points attached. I always thought you couldn't get that scene until after you reached Telos. But if you got it that early, then I was probably incorrect about that.

No. Kreia did not hunt down the jedi, Sion and Nihilus did. Yes, Kreia knew there were jedi left - she even tells the exile that barely a hundred were left and that most scattered and abandoned the order. Atris, Zez-Kai Ell, Kavar, Vrook and Bastila are all still jedi. So is at least must Vima Sunrider, though we never hear of her. Kreia knows that. But hunting down the jedi was never Kreia's goal. It's never stated that Sion and Nihilus kick her out because it's their's, but I would see that as implied given that one of Kreia's goals is to see her teachings justified and finding acceptance. Only the jedi masters can give her that recognition, and it's only when they refuse to accept the evidence that she turns against them, since that means they betray their own ideals by letting fear of the exile's potential dictate their choices. The exile was never the last jedi. Indeed, the exile may not even be a jedi depending on how you look at the character. That's not to take away from the character's importance, though. Indeed, the exile is a central character in jedi lore and the focal point of the transition from the demise of an old jedi order to the formation of a succeeding one, since the exile trained those jedi who will form the core of the new order. All the stuff about the exile being "the last jedi" is just propaganda spread by Atris to make the Sith (meaning Sion and Nihilus) hunt down the exile and so expose themselves, nothing more.

No, it was Atris who let it slip. I doubt it. At least I've never been able to get it before I reached Citadel Station at Telos.

Guardian, Sentinel, Consular
Jediphile replied to Malignanttoe's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Agreed. I like the Sentinel starting class skills: awareness, persuade, and treat injury (like every other class), but also computer use, stealth, and security; and I add cross-class skills demolitions, and repair while I'm still on peragus, so I'm basicly able to do anything (I always set my inteligence at 15 at character creation). Sentinel starts you out with 20 skill points as opposed to the guardian/counsellor 12. The only thing I miss about being a guardian is force jump - but I usually abondon regular attacks for flurry anyway. Agreed. Then again, force jump only works when you equip a lightsaber, and it takes a long time before you get one in the game. Too long, IMO. I used KSE to give my sentinel the force jump feats in one game, and by the time I got to use it, there seemed to be very little point. As others have already said, consulars get more force powers but not more skills. And unlike K1, you seem to have lots of force powers in TSL, probably because you begin as a jedi class and have a much higher max level too (in fact, you'll only reach the max level of 50 only by exploiting xp bugs, though I don't recommend it - reaching level 43 was more boring than I care to remember). Besides, I tend to take the jedi master as the prestige class at level 15, which is similar to the consular and so gives more force powers during the rest of level progression. EDIT: Oh, and one thing: Force Wave + Force Storm + Force Storm = Everything dies fastest! -
Not exactly. I don't think Team Gizka (who are doing TSLRP) has said one way or the other. Team Exile, who was working on the next mod that would include, among other things, M4-78 was dedicated to make their mod compatible with TSLRP, but alas Team Exile, like Team Bantha before it, is no more. Seems M4-78 has a bad effect on those trying to restore it... That said, I'm fairly certain somebody Dstoney or someone else will make his M4-78 mod compatible with TSLRP if it turns out that it isn't already. We want our full TSL experience, after all!
