Help Needed! Game-blocking crash :(
jaguars4ever replied to Boumaco's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You're going you need the latest the Catalyst drivers for your graphics card. Some of the older ATI drivers were notorious for the poor compatibility with K2 especially during the Dantooine segments. http://ati.amd.com/products/radeonx1600/index.html Good luck! -
Dude, this is K2. It's always going to be a roller-coaster at best. Just run your compatibility modes, keep your hands behind the railings at all times, and you'll be fine.

Dude, you have *got* to be on crack. DoD was the most boring explorative game I can think of where nothing interesting ever happens. It's such a snore that I couldn't bring myself to finish it. MoW isn't the best game I ever played, but it's such a huge step forward. Worth it for one of the coolest endgames (it's optional) I've seen. The side quests/exploration of DoD was a breath of fresh air. Only a BG1 hater would deny that. I can't think of many other RPGs let alone mods that allow for *completely optional* free-form exploration of region from the world-map - regions that only even become discoverable when adjacent to your current region (ala BG1) as a reward for your explorations. I don't know if you ever got around that that particular quest (being a DoD hater and all) but the family quest was one of finest sidequests to grace the NWN franchise IMO. On that latter note, the question of boredom or interest is entirely subjective. What you find boring I might find interesting and vice versa. So unfortunately, your inability to find anything of interest in DoD is by no means dispositive of its quality. However, what cannot be objectively denied was the potential for exploration. And that's something DoD offered not only in abundance, but in a style most reminiscent to BG1.

What the hell are you doing here? Get back to CoD:MW2!

So nice to see Bio recycling the same old archetypes: Lovable Female Rogue: Imoen, Mission, Leliana, Tali. Lowbrow Thug with Peculiar sense of Honor: Korgan, Canderous, Black Whirlwind, Wrex, Oghren, (Grunt?) Assassin with Heart of Gold: Yoshimo, HK-47, Sagacious Zu, Zevran, (Thane?) Condescending Mentor: Jaheira, Jolee, Wynne. Emotionally Scarred Emo: Aerie, Carth, Kaiden, (Samara?) Bitchy Feminista: Viconia, Bastila, Silk Fox, Morrigan, (Subject Zero?) The Racist: Keldorn, Juhani, Ashley, Shale.

What didn't you like about it? I heard good things about the role-playing options in it and the city setting interests me. The characters were flat & and unintentionally laughable, the plot was linear, the writing was hackneyed, and the foreshadowing was heavy handed. The city setting wasn't remotely interesting as (a) it was forced; & (b) it regurgitated the same titleset we've seen ad nauseam. They dismantled the very game dynamic that made Darkness over Darggerford awesome: The open-ended BG1 style exploration system. There are at least half a dozen user created NWN2 mods that are better than Mysteries of Westgate.

Trailer released! It looks awesome!

No you don't. MoW was terrible. You're far better off playing Ossian's previous expansion: DoD.

Geforce 4 Ti 4200 is notorious for graphical glitches in both K1 & K2. Ironically, the newest graphics drivers for your card is likely to break its compatibility with KotOR. Open your SWKotOR.ini file and look at your "nVidia Driver" under the "[Video]" subsection. If it reads 6.14.10.9371 or newer you'll probably have to revert to an older set (though by the sounds of it you'll have to do that already). To roll back your drivers: 1) Download Nvidia ForceWare 84.21 (or 77.77 instead at it's older but reported to be more stable), and a program called DriverCleaner Professional. 2) Install the DriverCleaner 3) Uninstall your current driver by using Control Panel and Add/Remove Programs (look for NVIDIA Display Driver). 3) Restart when prompted and boot into Windows Safe Mode by pressing and holding F8 until a menu appears then select the Safe Mode. 4) Once in Safe Mode, run DriverCleaner, select nVidia from Cleaning Selection drop-down menu and start cleaning. 5) Install the ForceWare 84.21 (or 77.77) drivers by running the installation package file. 6) Reboot when prompted after driver installation. 7) Check the game now. Older drivers may be found at: http://www.oldapps.com/old_version_nVidia.php

What version of Windows are you running? (XP/Vista/7, 32/64bit) What patch/mod(s) of K2 are you running? -
That would actually be great. Haer'dalis & Aerie. The cheeky tiefling tried to steal my girl. So following Keldorn's sterling example on how to deal with unfaithfulness, I promptly slew them both on the spot. Ah, the memories...

The Sisters are naked hotties that strike erotic poses when you give them Colour, though. The Void has graced PC gamers with the second coming of the Messiah - a thought provoking, exhilarating, existential voyage as to what can change the nature of a man.
-
So it's come to this now has it? Gone are the days of killing for ph4t l00t. Now we find colors for sisters. How the mighty have fallen. Damn you dopamine fix!

Cool story, bro. I guess he had no problems finding the "camp chest".
-
Not exactly a particularly useful storage facility if you have to track all the way to freakin' Bella to retrieve your robe & wizard hat. I can't believe the dev's oversight in failing to provide you with one at camp. Even your army has a storage chest. Bet you they intentionally left it out just to aggravate you. The bastards.

Cool. Downloading now.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

http://www.thewitcher.com/community/en/news/935.html Looks like they've just quashed Gorth & ~Di's main fears: The story is the main focus of the game, and the voices are merely developer placeholders. -
Awesome. But how good is this single player "miniquest" mode?
-
Hey, that's how the greatest men acquire their wives. I hope your efforts consummate soon.
-
Naked hawt chicks. GO BUY. Downloading.
