    evolution

Your right, I do find that to be very wrong. :D As long as you don't bring it into the classroom i will not mind that we have a difference of opinion. You take the leap of faith in believing in that there is a god, and in science they can not prove that there is one just like they can't prove that there is a unicorn yet. science class should teach science and church should teach religion. 2 realities clash but we can still be friends.

    evolution

First off a good scientists would probably say "evolution is the best we have so far". It logically proves how we were created and also how we over came stuff like the black plauge, or why so many birds look similar in the Galapagos, but have speciafically changed to its surroundings. Evolution does not say what got the ball rolling, why we started to evolve. evolution how i understand it happens very slowly. the sifting of genes over time. our body is completely new every 7 years and those genes get sifted each time we procreate so they are current. After a VERY long time you begin to see differences. You can see evolution today in a microscopic version with virus's and how they evolve. So this is my version of how "species" were created. Its logical and can beproven with steps and numbers, thats all science is. If you can believe in math, steps and that the laws like gravity will be here tomarrow then you believe in science.
  3. I'm all for people accepting responsibility for their actions. While I accept that in some cases and under certain circumstances abortion is not only an acceptable but the preferable option, I'm not sure I like the idea of abortion being equiparable to condoms or the day-after pill as an anti-conceptive method. It might be shocking to some, but pregnancy is the obvious result of sex. As things are right now it's easy enough to avoid that result (provided that we aren't talking about rape) without resorting to abortion. If anything, the only reason I can find that would warrant abortion (again, provided there are no other medical reasons) would be to spare the child the experience of having such stupid parents and to prevent that stupidity from being passed on to the child by the genes. And please don't resort to putting words in people's mouths (I'm referring to that comment about childbirth and God) because not everyone that is against an "anything goes" attitude towards abortion is a religious zealot. You can do better than that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You don't get laid often do you?
  4. What caught my eye is the dream was the catalyst. If Padme was dieing because she didn't have the will to live anymore, due to anakin turning darkside, why did anakin have the dream in the first place? Cause and effect rule was broken it seems. Any explanations?
  5. We could go back to hunters and gatherers. ill be the gatherer :D
  6. Common sense isn't common. Look at Christianity. " Let the flaming begin
  7. I did not understand your last sentence Metadigital "The future will also see a further divide, between the knowledge-haves and have-nots. Information is power, so there is another hegemony in its infancy." - Metadigital EDIT: im guessing you mean since we live in the information age this generation is the new hegemony.
  8. Yes we should have a draft because its obvious that we cannot keep are numbers up in the military to do the things that must be done. Since most Americans supported the war its time to put up and stop crying to other countries who didn't support the war to send troops. Yes we should ration gasoline because it supports the very people that want us dead. We supporting are enemies doesn't make sense to me. I understand we need gas to run the country but we don't need waste it for no reason. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The only way ill fight is if I, or A loved one are endangered. and for some corprate theological military oligarchy to start a draft because of their own intrests is not good enough reason for me to get involved. I'm not on a crusade.
  9. Wow, you're twisted. Your perfect for the army. "

  11. Filibuster 1. politics political delaying tactic: a tactic such as a long irrelevant speech or several such speeches used to delay or prevent the passage of legislation Should filibusters be allowed? I personally find it disgusting and embarressing as a human how part of the US Gov. says "jesus wouldn't filibuster" Yea, name the poor guy who can't defend himself. Jesus doesn't even have a chance to defend himself. also God Vs. filibuster, these radical christians repbilicans are something else, like they never filibustered. this is greatly disturbing to me. there was suppose to be a speration of church and state. so the question remains, is it wrong for one party to filibuster for what it beleives, why or why not. Here is the article. BBC News: US Filibuster
  12. Ill take a vegetarian with wheat toast
  13. This gets into how all men are not born equal. their either born rich or poor. or middle class, which bush seems to destroy - my opinion.
  14. If all Tibetan monks stopped praying for one day, I guarantee that the sun would still rise and set in the same manner as any other day. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You dare challenge the men who are responisible for the sun setting and rising? if they did stop praying then you would get no sun. so your crazy in chellenging them. :D I'm just making a point in how everything takes a leap of faith to beleive (even math) science too which is math with 7 steps, thats all. some say the Quran is the purest belief, my opinion is science is.
  15. Don't fart in a closet... :">
  16. How much money do you need to be happy in life, especially if your already dead. why not tax that dead person to give better public education, better welfare, better librarieries and police. these are esential to civilization to be succesful. Who are the people that get hurt the most? families with businesses. the bigger the busininess the more the lucky person who inherits it will be taxed. they get taxed what 35% if they accept? so they can either take the business and make pay the 35% or sell it and get the rest of the 65%. its a good deal either way. Beofre that the estate tax was even created small businesses weren't popular making it through a generation. What im really trying to say is - if you need to tax someone, who better then a rich dead corpes?
  17. uh, it's always been called the "death tax" and not just by republicans (as long as i can remember). it's just the recent round of political battling over taxes (beginning with bush's first cuts) that put it in the media spotlight. either way, this example really isn't about morals or tricky politicians. calling it an estate tax is just as "tricky" as the death tax. both describe it accurately, but neither convey a moral implication. taks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Are you against the estate tax? if so, im curious to why you might be.
  18. this site is mostly trustworthy. Playstation 3 faster, Microsoft Xbox 360 easier
  19. I only notice the people who are against abortion that classify it as a contraception. It makes it sound worse. Like how republicans changed the esate tax to THE DEATH TAX "well if its named the death tax it must be bad". Tricky politicians.Just how partial birth abortion, isnt partial birth.
  20. Not to long ago in michigan a teenage girl had sex and had gotten pregnant. this girls parents had the same ideals as you do FaramirK. she could not go to her parents for help. she put her bets on her parents disapproving of what she did and didn't want to be a famiy burden. it would have ruined her chances to become a nurse, or atleast make them near impossible. Next thing you know she asked her boyfriend to beat her stomach with a bat to get out of the pregnancy. she almost lost her life but it worked. do you really want to imprison somebody that bad that they are willing to beat themselves with a bat? Excuse me if i think of sex as more then just a way to get women pregnant. that it can also be fun. I dislike the idea of other people imposing there will on others. If they ban abortion you will see thousands of these.
  21. Did anybody ever own a controller called "SpaceOrb 360" it was perfect for 3d enviroments. 1st person, flying. it was a controller that had buttons on the right side and a ball attached on the left. you grip the entire ball with your left hand and you can move it in any direction. twist pull push left right down up. it gave you better control then the heyboard and mouse.
  22. Everything is better in Italy. That's the rule. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Except pizza
  23. I was expecting Korriban to have a lush city and a few plants here and there. apparently not. it was a rock with a temple a dead body and a master.... hmmph
  24. Another link to the history Another A little history that was copied form the web if you would like to see. In primitive tribal societies, abortions were induced by using poisonous herbs, sharp sticks, or by sheer pressure on the abdomen until vaginal bleeding occurred. Abortion techniques are described in the oldest known medical texts.2 The ancient Chinese and Egyptians had their methods and recipes to cause abortion, and Greek and Roman civilizations considered abortion an integral part of maintaining a stable population. Ancient instruments, such as the ones found at Pompeii and Herculaneum, were much like modern surgical instruments. The Greeks and Romans also had various poisons administered in various ways, including through tampons. Socrates,4 Plato and Aristotle2 were all known to suggest abortion. Even Hippocrates, who spoke against abortion because he feared injury to the woman, recommended it on occasion by prescribing violent exercises.2 Roman morality placed no social stigma on abortion. Early Christians condemned abortion, but did not view the termination of a pregnancy to be an abortion before "ensoulment", the definition of when life began in the womb. Up to 400 AD., as the relatively few Christians were widely scattered geographically, the actual practice of abortion among Christians probably varied considerably and was influenced by regional customs and practices.5
  25. Jeezy chreezy Eldar, relax. the topic is morals remember? i was just trying to jump start it with other examples of where it could fly off. Speaking of abortion, thats a tough issue to draw the line depending where your standing. am i crazy for thinking of everything as electricity? I beleive science to just explain the world around us. there is 3 parts of the brain developed by the 8th week. brain stem, mid brain, and forebrain. so in my own reality i see a fetus that as something without a mind yet. it might have a partial nervous system but its the womens body still and she should be able to decide whatever she wants. . it is sad too see any chance of life go i know, but if its to make a better life for a women in a overpopulated world then why not? I know this is a very sensitive subject. i just wanted to state my own belief that women should have the right to choose. its a harsh reality but if you don't want an abortion dont have one. it has been around for longer then many can imagine. If you take another persons right to have one then young girls will be going to back ally doctors getting slaughtered.
