What music are you listening to right now?
Damnit. Nine inch nails was scheduled to play at the MTV music awards. Mtv wont let Reznor have an unmolested backdrop of George w. Bush. i guess the Mtv finds our predident as appalling as Reznor does.

does anybody ever wonder if civilization turns evolution on its head, if we are so advanced that we are going backwards?

Theory of Evolution
"My favorite example of a mutation producing new information involves a Japanese bacterium that suffered a frame shift mutation that just happened to allow it to metabolize nylon waste. The new enzymes are very inefficient (having only 2% of the efficiency of the regular enzymes), but do afford the bacteria a whole new ecological niche. They don't work at all on the bacterium's original food - carbohydrates. And this type of mutation has even happened more than once!"

Ok in regards to methicillin A big reason chrstianity denies evolution is because supposedly there is no mutation with an increase in information, there might be a beneficial information swap/change but thats not adding more information(information-think of it as a sorta program code or dna i think....) there are also a decrease in mutaion information. to get from plankton to human being we would still be similar to plankton without MORE mutation increase of information. maybe for a viurs to become immune it only has to change its information(its code), thats not adding new information though, its just changing it... am i making any sense? heres an article/post.mutation debate!

Genetic engineering will create much fear leading to hate... all men will not be created "equal" anymore but will it matter? will it matter if we can save the earth with this power to create einstiens on a assembly line.

methicillin- could it just have a beneficial mutation? or does it have a mutation of increase in information? can someone help guide me I am so stubborn with this topic because if we can't prove prove what has evolved by adding new stuff like methicillin might have then how can we beleive in it? - this is a christian point of view.

Thanks Metadigital! I was told virus' that become immune to penecillin do not have an increase but a decrease in mutation information increase, anyone know why?

Theory of Evolution
I know this vader, but can you help me with an example of this? even in bacteria or virus? i know virus's change and become immune but that is ust a change, not a mutasion with an increase in information. What came to my mind was when the 1st dinosars evolved wings and learned to fly, but there is no proof good enough in a deabate. can abody help me?

2: If evolution is about making things like like plankton to humans then where is a proven incident of it happeinging. where is a mutation increase of information. like human growing wings, or when we evolved a frontal lobe. does anybody know of a example of this that is observable by chance, or just plainy obvious? this seems to be the big christians defense against evolution.

Theory of Evolution
Evolution. 1. biology theory of development from earlier forms: the theoretical process by which all species develop from earlier forms of life. On this theory, natural variation in the genetic material of a population favors reproduction by some individuals more than others, so that over the generations all members of the population come to possess the favorable traits. 2. biology developmental process: the natural or artificially induced process by which new and different organisms develop as a result of changes in genetic material 3. gradual development: the gradual development of something into a more complex or better form I'm hoping that this thread will spread facts about evolution so i and others have a chance to learn more about this subject. A good scientist would say evolution is the best science has so far. my questiuonbs are - 1: what doesn't evolution explain, does it explain WHY things evolve in the first place besides to survive and procreate.

Discussion on Morals
Intreseting that the cause was Afganistan. all i knew was that it was due to economics. Did they have another economic problem besides funding war? i know it was the same time they were in afganistan when the collapsed . what year did they collapse 1989 or 91?

It was close to war, but nuclear? Who knows. Again, it was the US that was close to launching, and it's actually a great example of what I'm talking about because the USSR backed down. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I feel both sides didn't go further then they had too, neither backed down. Smart how JFK called the it a quarentine when the US Gov. was stopping everyship that was near the Americas.

evolution
Your right, I do find that to be very wrong. :D As long as you don't bring it into the classroom i will not mind that we have a difference of opinion. You take the leap of faith in believing in that there is a god, and in science they can not prove that there is one just like they can't prove that there is a unicorn yet. science class should teach science and church should teach religion. 2 realities clash but we can still be friends.

evolution
First off a good scientists would probably say "evolution is the best we have so far". It logically proves how we were created and also how we over came stuff like the black plauge, or why so many birds look similar in the Galapagos, but have speciafically changed to its surroundings. Evolution does not say what got the ball rolling, why we started to evolve. evolution how i understand it happens very slowly. the sifting of genes over time. our body is completely new every 7 years and those genes get sifted each time we procreate so they are current. After a VERY long time you begin to see differences. You can see evolution today in a microscopic version with virus's and how they evolve. So this is my version of how "species" were created. Its logical and can beproven with steps and numbers, thats all science is. If you can believe in math, steps and that the laws like gravity will be here tomarrow then you believe in science.

Discussion on Morals
I'm all for people accepting responsibility for their actions. While I accept that in some cases and under certain circumstances abortion is not only an acceptable but the preferable option, I'm not sure I like the idea of abortion being equiparable to condoms or the day-after pill as an anti-conceptive method. It might be shocking to some, but pregnancy is the obvious result of sex. As things are right now it's easy enough to avoid that result (provided that we aren't talking about rape) without resorting to abortion. If anything, the only reason I can find that would warrant abortion (again, provided there are no other medical reasons) would be to spare the child the experience of having such stupid parents and to prevent that stupidity from being passed on to the child by the genes. And please don't resort to putting words in people's mouths (I'm referring to that comment about childbirth and God) because not everyone that is against an "anything goes" attitude towards abortion is a religious zealot. You can do better than that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You don't get laid often do you?

I Saw Episode 3
What caught my eye is the dream was the catalyst. If Padme was dieing because she didn't have the will to live anymore, due to anakin turning darkside, why did anakin have the dream in the first place? Cause and effect rule was broken it seems. Any explanations?

Discussion on Morals
I did not understand your last sentence Metadigital "The future will also see a further divide, between the knowledge-haves and have-nots. Information is power, so there is another hegemony in its infancy." - Metadigital EDIT: im guessing you mean since we live in the information age this generation is the new hegemony.
