  1. "Atari's record is made of games like ToEE, MoO3, DDO, and the like." Atari publishes a lot of games. The majority of which are relatively bugless. What you post are examples of exemptions; not the rule. "Obsidian doesn't have that level of financing that Bioware had when NWN 1 was released." Meh. They may not be at BIo's level; but I wish people would stop [pretending Obsidian some newbie company in the por hourse. By now, the number of employees they have is I believe at least around 100 (and growing). They are not a small company anymore. They likely made a fairly helathy profit off of KOTOR2 so i doubt they are still poor now. Let's stop pretending otherwise. "I was under the impression that Bioware only started financing patches after the plug was pulled on NWN by Atari." Nope. The premium modules paid for the patches.
  2. "One can never overdose on DnD."
  3. "I thought you weren't playing the premium modules." Eh? Where did I say that? I said I wouldn't pay to download them. I bought the CD version. Heck, I even reviewed it here... LOL
  4. "Your point being?" That if you hate soemthing you shouldn't be doing it. Duh. "I was going to go through that game with a monk and well it forced me to use a normal dagger that I couldn't unequip." Eh? Weird... I don't recall being forced to use a weapon... Hmm...
  5. A. Sucks to be you. If you don't like it, use soemthing else. B. OSes are different than games. Nice try, though.
  6. "Oh, come off it, Judge Hades. You're just looking for reasons to bash the module so you can stick to your guns about anything NWN related." Just remember the following: Hades goes on, and on about the NWN OC is 'one of the worst CRPGs ever' yet he has played it 3+ times... I think that explains everything we need to know. "
  7. http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Inter...s.Detail&id=254 World map talk above! P.S. Obviously, we shouldn't listent o Hades' rant as seemed to attack something that wasn't even true about the module. L0LLERS! :D
  8. "If one compares the implemetaion of the ruleset in NWN to ToEE one can see that ToEE, in terms of rules is the better of the two." True; but sadly for TOEE, D&D is more than just a bunch of rules stuck together. TOEE forgot the spirit (or, mor elikely, ignored it) of D&D which is DMed adventures with other players. "what irks me the most is the assertsion and claims made in posts that I have in some way claimed ToEE as the better game on the whole." 'Tis a good thing I never claimed that you thought that.
  9. Sounds good. Now, we need Atari to release the new stuff!
  10. " As in, nothing out of this world yet, but at the same time it has that "professional" touch that you'd expect from an actual game studio." Not surprising considering, IIRC, some of the devs of this mod, used to work at BIo and did stuff for the Bg series, and NWN...
  11. Heck, OC vs. OC, NWN still crushes despite only being 'average'. R00fles! And, as long as TOEE has rules implementations like its version of identify, I just gotta laugh.
  12. Always sad when someone dies; but never heard of him and outside of FO, his lists of games are unimpressive to me.
  13. "I see no reason ever to buy or even test NWN nor NWN 2 in matter of fact" Game over.
  14. "Has anyone given it a try yet? Volourn?" I've downlaoded it. Haven't had a real chance to play it yet - just make my character. F4/R4, will be multiclassed into WM later on.. The opening was kinda cool. Nothing really special; but better than most modules for sure. <>
  15. "Its just too sad that the fanbase had to do Bioware's work for them to make NWN close to a worthwhile game." Nonsense. The fanbase deserves NO credit for NWN's 'worth'. If it wasn't for BIO's solid work on NWN; it would have been just a POR2 or TOEE. long live bio! die fans die!
  16. "Theyre using Electron, which is completely new to about 90%. Unfortunantly, what it does retain from Aurora is the combat mechanics and animations which seem to give it that same jerky, ultra-low-fps feeling." Graphics engine, and toolset are new. Everything else is Aurora but updated. "Aurora is the combat mechanics and animations which seem to give it that same jerky, ultra-low-fps feeling." How cna that be when NWN2's combat animations are much worse than NWN1's? The combat mechanics are the same because its the same mechanics (outside of the chnzage of D&D rules) that are used in the KOTOR series, and the IE games. "One thing I notice is that the PC has no in-between animations for going from standing completely still to walking or running. It looks a bit strange, it just hops from one animation straight to another" Yeah; but Obsidian promises that's an ancient video, and the newer versions are the best animations of all time fit for games released in 3000. "That means crappy looking characters." A. Aurora had good looking characters for the most part. B. The graphics engine is BRAND NEW (though, imo, it has the same style that NWN1 has).
  17. "I started up a fantasy dynasty in MVP Baseball 05. I was pretty bummed last night when A-Rod fractured his arm in the 12th game of the season. It required some dramatic restructuring of the lineup, that's for sure, but I've got a few utility infielders that can handle it. Shame none of them can hit..." Top 5 game!!! Othe rgames I'm playing: NWN, EQ2, and DoD.
  18. Aurora has no clunkiness combat wise. You guys are on crack. I couls see, and udnerstand complaints about the OC's story and joinable npcs, as well as all the D&D rules changes. But, combat wise, NWN1 was as close to perfect that real time w/pause (or pseudo turn abse) can be. It curshed the IE, and even the KOTOR series versions (despite the fact that the Odessy engine is a 'pumped up' Aurora - at least graphically but not gameplay wise. As for NWN2, the combat animations look very dissapointing thus far. Still, with 2 months (or so) of quality control, there's still hope to smooth all those rough edges out.
  19. "2/ battles still seem unnaturally static, similarly to nwn1 but in some ways even more so." NWN1 battles were anythiung but static. they were fluid, the animations were flowing awesome, and the combat looked sweet, and it never looked like characetrs were simply standing still. NWN2 has better graphics overall than NWN1; but at this points, it's combat simply looks augh. Hopefully, this will change by the time its released.

LOL If all it took was giving his 2 week notice of resignation to legally leave the team... why all the drama? R00fles! Frig, in NA, when an athlete signs a contract with a team they are basically a highly paid servant who is stuck even if the team is sabatoging them except in rare circumstances L0LLERS!
  21. No.
  22. Setzer, you better read the last exchange between Night and myself. My use of your quote wasn't an attack OR a disagreement with you. I was making fun of someone's lame attempt to claim that my 'no' wasn't a 'greta argument' as he implied other 'arguments' in this thread were deep. I wa spoitning out that no one really gave an argument. Just opinions. P.S. I would agree that overall TOEE had better graphics than the IE; but some things graphically the IE did better. But, that wans't the point of my last post...
  23. "Neverwinter Nights 2 is a CRPG. Its goal is for yu to make a character and role play in its world and have fun doing it." That's one simplified part of its goal. in fact, your description cna fit nearly anything. In fact, it fits Mario pretty much. R00fles!
  24. No. "Great arguement Volourn." Yeah, because your opposing arguments are full of deep thoughts like the following: "Actually the graphics in ToEE are better than any IE game I've played and that would be all of them. Not that I don't think the IE is any good, it's just Troika did a nice job of taking the IE to the next level." or "Oh graphically it's just IE++, but as far as D&D engines go, it blows NWN outta the water" Yeah, totally convincing facts and details to back up your claim. In fact, all i see is an opinion much like my no. I was just clearer and more concise with my opinion. LOLLERS P.S. The best D&D engine is that one allows there to be a DM, and multiple players since that's what D&D is about. Not multi headed monster parties to play a 15-25 hour adventure that crashes every 2 seconds against billions of easy and retarded bugbears. R00fles!
  25. If the stronghold is as good as the article makes it sound; it may be the best part of the NWN2 OC. It would also be better than the BG2 strongholds. We shall see.
