"J.E. was about to post something (most probably insightful) but then he left." Sorry. My bad.

Not yet.

"BioWare LEGALLY has the community for this game so ANY protest on Atari is pointless as the right people are not looking." WOW! from NWN2 news, and stated by an Atari dude. WOW!

Volourn's Wowwy Journey With NWN2:Spoiler Edition
Volourn replied to Volourn's topic in Computer and Console
Just finsihed the Ruins. I love the Gem Caves including the soul gem puzzle. Great xp and loot to be had there as well. The rest of the ruins were pretty good. The Temple of Seasons despite the pimping it got prior to release as a HUGE dissapointment though I don't know if it was because of a bug or something I did. I walked in, and saw the Ice room. Lockpicked a door, got the statue, and completed the ritual. Why the heck didn't I get to see the other seasons - the other two doors in the place had open locks DCs of 99, and no key or anything available to open them. No matter as I had accomplished what I needed to do there. Still, WTF? Did some more work on the Keep. Trained my men, and upgraded their equipment. Got some recruitment there. Got Deekin to come to the keep as well.. I gotta say compared to the other Keep Stores, his ph@t lewt isn't so ph@t! Wut's up with that!?! Did like the fact you got to see his perspective on SOU,a nd HOTU's campaign. LOL Paved the roads, fixed up the master bedroom, and tinkered with the golem some more. Got a nice sideshow of Sand and Grob having with it. I wodner what it means... Crafted my first magic weapon. A +3 weapon that does 2d6 divine damage against evil. Screwed up the naming of it because that system was chetaing. It had alreayd had the editing started, and I did the unfathomable thing of hitting 'enter' to name it myself. LOL They should add an 'edit' button so that doesn't happen or you can at least fix. BOOOO!!!! I LOVE the adventuring party you got working for you. I hope I didn't get them killed by mentioning the King of Shadows to them. Hehehe!! Just reached Haven. I hope the gargoyles and shadow mastiffs I spotted from the outset are gonna challenge me. :joy: :joy: :joy: -
" but is it any fun? " Yes.

I register games once, and awhile. NWN2 is the fiurst game I have bought in DVD form for the PC.
-
Don't get DQ8! Stick with FF12! Same style of games yet FF12 is 1 million times better!!!
-
My major problems with NWN2 have very little to do with bugs; but the story design itself. In fact, I think the story hurts the rest of the game....
-
"Overall the game is less buggy when NWN1 was first released." I'd agree if I was just taking the early game into account; but as I played on; more and more bugs started to creep up. Usually some minors ones; but it includes a few major ones too. There are less bugs on the whole; but I'm not too surprised since it's based on an otherwise well manged and kept up Aurora engine. As far as stability goes, it's very stable for me. i've only outright crashed once which is impressive.
-
"It ain't happening, NWN1 is at the end of its capabilities. It's time for change." NWN1 isn't going anywhere. Not for a long while at least. Anyways, those who ignore NWN2's faults are foolish. Those who are gonna nitpick it to death for every fault are also foolish. If you hate the game outright then don't play it. Simple as that. Anyone who tries to diretcly comapre NWN2 to the KOTORs and then try to claim it has nothing in common with NWN1 are braindead since, you know, the KOTOR engine is like based on NWN1. And, NWN2's gameplay engine is the Aurora while the graphics engine is a new one obviously based on the Aurora. Heck, the graphics have the basic of style of NWN1 except obviously (Ovcerall) much better - well... except for animations and some special effects which are *really* dissapointing. The combat is, quite frankly, identical to NWN1 outside of the ability to control the joinables diretcly. LONG LIVE NWN SERIES!!!
-
"I have personally talked to tens of thousands of NWN1 players" Ok then.
-
"Neverwinter Nights is a game that has sold million. It's one of the better selling games of all time." I doubt the latter statement is true. Unless your defintion of 'better selling games of all time' is different than kost. Do you think NWN is in the top 5? Top 10? Top 25? Top 50? Top 100? Top 1000? "First of all, it isn't the same, as here we control a 4 people party, while in the first game we controlled only one character. Needless to say this makes all the difference in terms of tactical depth. There's only so much we can do with one character." No. There is no more tatical depth. Allowing players to control PCs doesn't add more depth; just means you are doing more of the same. On top of that, fighters in NWN2 have less combat options than in NWN1. They can no longer make called shots for example. BOOO!!! P.S. The orcs were boringly easy. Cruised right through them...
-
Yes.
-
Yeah, ane xmaple of this great role-playing depth is when you tell npcs like Khelgar and Neeshak you don't want to travel with them. R00fles! NWN2 does quite a few things right... but, that isn't one of them... Still, depsite my (many) complaints, I *am* enjoying the game thus far.
-
I'll believe BIO over you throwing random numbers at me.
-
Aye, and repeatedly.
-
Meh. By then, the game was getting out of hand anyways. Ref calls in a game that's all but over are meaningless. P.S. Bears likely clinched top spot in the conference with the win.
-
"The first NWN was big because of what other people could make to turn it into a good game," Nope. NWN was big because it was a D&D game made by BIO, and theyd elivered a greta game that many people enjoyed hence why it sold. Most people bought NWN for it's OC. This is a fact. It's toolset/MP/DMC surely didn't hurt it though.
-
Soulthief also forgets that NWN1 9and 2) MP isn't just about PWs or PvP. There's also small groups with a DM type campaigns. You know, the one unique selling point that NWN series has over 99.9% of other games. In that situation, it is to me 'ok' to pause the game. In a PW situation, no, I don't ti should really be ok. But, it is very possible, if the the server host allows it. Soul: Good for you. I'm not speaking anyways. IU'm typing. And, you simply aren't reading what I posted, anyways. *shrug*
-
"You really drive me crazy" R00fles! P.S. My plan is working!...
-
Really? Obsidian has 'masses' of fnaboys? I disagree. If that were true, their versions of the IE games would ahve sold as much as the Bg games; but even PST - which people oogle over - didn't. even the FO series didn't. There's a reason why BIS (and Interplay) died... it's not because they had 'masses' of fanboys. LOL
-
You better! "there was no barometer for NWN1 really (sans BG)." Um. That's a pretty big one since 90%+ of the complaints had to do with the SHOCK! HORROR! OH NOES! that NWN1 wasn't BG3. R00fles!
-
btw, I'm not saying that what he did was worthy of apenalty ( i persoanlly don't think it is); but ti's about equal with what Jacobs is. If youa re gonna call one a penalty; you should call the other one as well. Or neither as would be my preference.
-
Just cast PFE...
-
Yeah; but that's now why we lost. 1. Dumb coaching mistakes. 2. Great second half play by Grossman. (started late 1st half though) 3. Feely is a goofball, and the rest of the specila teams followed in his footseps. 4. Asanine refereeing. ie. Jacobs called for 'unsportsmanlike conduct' when he tucks ballunder uniform; but Bears guy does the 'ball under legs repeatedly in a mocking manner' and no no call. What the ehck? espicially since Jacobs has doen that move for awhile now and no penalties. Urgh. 5. Not the best defensive game the Bears played (espciially on that one Giant drive); but did when it mattered.
