Volourn's Wowwy Journey With NWN2:Spoiler Edition
Volourn replied to Volourn's topic in Computer and Console
Simply shouldn't eb forced to ahve npcs in your adventuring party; or your noverall group. It's beyond nonsensical. -
"And that's not all to say that NWN2 is a cakewalk." Eh? But, it is. The game is one of the easiest games I've played. Easier than TOEE, and quite possibly even easier than the KOTORs. There is simply a lack of challenge. Of course, there are a couple of exemptions to that rule. Quite frankly, I think a character should die at 0hp (or -10hp) and be done with it. I doubt most players would cry about that.

btw, I finally suffered my first crash! WOO HOO!!!

Volourn's Wowwy Journey With NWN2:Spoiler Edition

Most recently there was Aldanon's mansion as well as the traitourous lord's mansion that had obvious treasure/gold coins that were nothing more than tempting scenery. Not the biggets deal, mind you, just a tease. LOL -
Night, I thought the two of us settled this on an earlier page. LOL

All over espicially in the city. -
Do you like itnetionally attacking other posters? You must. LOL Perma death is completely different than Iron man Mode which refers to loading vs. restarting. NWN2 doesn't have permadeath. FO, and BG do. Even though there is no 'ironman mode' in FO or BG (not counting if the player chooses it). Nice try though. It's called PERMADEATH; not DIE AND RESTART. Game over. R00fles!
-
"BG wasn't permadeath, resurrection was easy and it was possible for as long as the member was still in your party." Yes, it was. You die, you are dead. Your npcs die, theya re dead. period. Remember, you cannot be ressurected (ie. brought back from the dead) unless you are dead. It's illogically impossible 9well.. not in NWN2, lol). Your characetrs simply do NOT get back up. And, oh, TOEE had the have to restart after death; but it was an option; NOT forced on the player. That's what we're discussing and why it doesn't really count.

"This is a personal opinion, and in no way represents anyone else's opinions but my own. I hated the radial menu. I nearly failed my QA test here because I had to pick up NW1 cold turkey during my interview and the damn menu was so unintuitive and overly complicated. When we changed to the current context menu, I did many dances of happiness. Once again, just my own take on things."

Taks, I believe that 'artifact level treausre' in a bareel was a myth. NWN1 OC did have way too many lootable bareels - espicially considering the predicament it wa sin - but, some people love to exaggerate. Heh. Thankfully, BIO fixed that in SOU and since you were in UM and UD in HOTU; it didn't come into play there at all. NWN2 is good in that regard. Then again, as much ph@t lewt as NWN2 has, it also has a habit of showing piles of gold coin/'treasure that can't be touched. LOL D: Yup, he used the law to his advanatge (making you a squire). P.S. Those on evil side, how does the trial work out from the Shadow Thief side? -
Run out potions? WOW! The first half of the game, healing potions were reasomable; but stoill avaialble. Don't trust those AI freas! Second half of the game, there should be very little worry about healing potions.

Alanshu: Uhuh. If you say so. Anyways, on to more important and logical matters... Trial Investigation was pretty cool. Love the 'evil woods'. I'm glad Elanee sided with you instead of the stupid psychotic wood creature. Loved Elanee's attitude there as well. The werwolves were whatever as it wa sobvious they were up to no good. The trial itself wae mostly me embassing the Luskanite though she got a few silly shots in as well. Cleared my name, had to fight though to 'prove' my innocence further. Got Khelgar to do it instead since he begged to help, and I felt sorry for the poor lad. He needed the practice. Fight wasn't much of a challenge until he got his rage ona nd I couldn't hurt him. Cost me a heal potion so that was a worthwile fight just for that. Super Spider was neato; but I got semi spoiled about it beforehand. didn't chnage my actions as I only attack when I have to anyways. Aldanon kidnapped plotline is pretty good; but I'd have preferred the major demon actually be challenging. I think he damaged Khelgar for like 20 points, lol along with the auto 'curse' you recieve when standing near it. Beat up on the traitorious noble, and got some mahor ph@t loot rings - ring of freedom, and ring of regnm +4 (which costs like 90k in stores or about there). I'm level 14 now. A F5/C9. I travel with Khelgar, Shandra, Elanee, and Sand. Good combo indeed. I was gonan say I like how they keep helaing potions down until I found the shop in Port Llast that has an unlimited supply of heal potions for like 600gp or so. Now, I got like 30 or so. Hahahahahahaa!!! Though, I've only used a couple. The story quality has certainly picked up. Much, much better than Act1, and not as completely linear either. Cool beans. I'm now dealing with the Ironfang Keep guarded by bugbears. Just met Khelgar's clanmates. P.S. I'd rate Nasher has LN with good tendencies just like he was in NWN1 OC. He no doubt believes fully in the law; but he's not 100% blinded to it. -
No. Which is why it's silly to assume that permadeath relates to that.
-
"Depends if I understood permadeath correctly, that means no save game unless you're leaving, quitting out of the game." Oh. That's different. that would definitely effect sales. Heck, I'd think twice if agme had that as the *only* way to handle death. Computers are too usntable. When I think perma death; I think more in lines of BG or FO - you die; you die. Reload is your option. But, die and have to restart? Yup. That would hurt sales most definitely. Games aren't really made for that in mind.
-
No, it wouldn't. There is no factual evidence to back up that claim. None whatsoever.

No such thing for this thread. This is a 'read at your own risk' thread. It's not for wussies who will melt at the slightest hint of a spoiler. Yes, I know, I have finished the game and I'd rather not be spoiled; but that's the risk I CHOOSE to take when making this thread. -
"the toee radial menu had other issues. it was even worse than the NWN1 version." Yeha, my biggest beef with TOEE's version is that if you went tood ep into the radial subsets, it would eventually go right off the screen forcing you to manually move it (thankfully, they gave you the option of that at least) back onto the screen. My second character will likely be a CE Wizard concentrating on crafting and bossing his allies around. He will make people cry espicially Shandra.

Wistrik, I'm on the basic same path as you. I'm 100% on NWN's side and got all the bigwigs good=gling me with priase. I udnerstand going through with the trial; but the fact that Nasher 9or anyoen) doesn't tell you about what evidence is being used against you (until you start investigating yourself) is silly. Adterall, if there was so much evidence, and if the everyoen truly believed you were a mass murderer; I doubt you'd get free reign (incluyding being able to go where you want) and even buy stuff from various merchants and stuff. That said, I dislike the set up; but the investigation itself is more than cool enough. P.S. STOP WITH THE SPOILER TAGS IN THIS THREAD!!!! -
Taks is corect about the levelling. It's quick (about the same as NWN1) comapred to pnp; but it's fine for a computer game. I'm level 12, and 300xp from level 13 right now. No major complaints there thoguh I'm surprised certain tohers ahven't made a stink about it. As for merchants, it's cool. I've had one stop buying from me. Otherwise, no problems. There's a lot of shopkeepers in the game anyways so you shouldn't have much of a problemfinding someone to buy your goods espciially fi they reset.
-
I'll just sya the following to end my part in this circular issue: I find it hilarious that there was hardly a peep about how 'crappy' the radial menu was until Obsidian announced they were changing it. Out of all the complaints that the minority of whiners whined about, the raidal menu was probabaly 1 millionth on the list. And, now, all of asudden, it's the 'worst thing ever'. LOL R00fles!
-
Eh. I've been playing non radial menus for EONS 9that's right, EONS0 and the raidla menu was super easy to get used to - as in first day of playing it. And, I didn't feel annoyed by it at all. Any similarities to other UIs that NWN2 has is absolutely superficial as it should be. Having drop down menus doesn't make it have any unique similarity to Fo than another game.
-
Absolutely nonsense.
-
The radial menu was, and is awesome. That is undispuatble. The NWN2 UI is ok; but it is full of little quirks that makes it far from the best. It also ahve very little in common with FO. That's silly talk.

Doesn't matter. You are spweing nonsense and your flailing attempt to make exuses for this pitiful trial. It is beyond illogical. Whether you spill the beans or I find out in game, it won't chnage a thing. I don't the logicy of this trial AT ALL. From what i can tell, the 'masses' of NW don't even believe I committed this crime for a second. Not one personhas said anything negative. So, if Nasher was simply loooking for a scapegoat (like Nasher was); he obviously picked the wrong one. But, hey, keep spinning yoru wheels in trying to justify the lameness known as The Trial Setup. It's so obviously a setup, and anyone inclduing the masses can see this a mile away.
