"I for one thought NWN 2 was vastly superior to NWN in almost everything" You, for one, are wrong. It has a lot of things it does better; it also does a lot of things worse. The sad thing is that as a sequel there's no excuse for it doing *anything* worse. Again, the biggest reason why the guy in this case is a moron is he's too busy whining about some similarities that NWN2 shares with KOTORs series when either a) the similarities are superficial or b) KOTOR like NWN2 was amde with the Aurora engine so of course they share similarities. The only real things KOTOR/KOTOR specific that NWN2 has is the 'influence syustem' which has been around for years without the fancy name. They just used a matehmatical system to statistically keep track of your relationships. NWN2's combat is 'similar' to KOTOR's combat because KOTOR's combat is si8milar to NWN's. LOL And, NWN2's combat is pretty much 99.9% like NWN's. It's the reason why I like NWN2's combat even though it's rather easy. I DESPISE KOTOR's combat since it's nothing but dumbed down NWN combat. Soulfish: Nah. It's just because dissapointed people ar eusually more vocal espicially at release. People whined about NWN1 too at release. In the end, they meant crap just like anti NWN2ers mean nothing as well. R00fles!

P.S. I went, and read the whole thing instead of simply skimming. I came to the obvious conclusion - the fellow is a moron. Plain, and simple. P.S. I hate double posts; but I hate him more!!!

He makesa good points and some bad ones. And, his attitude helps nobody. First off, NWN2's engine is based off of Aurora's. Heck, so was the KOTOR engine. But, NWN2's engine espicially combat, gameplay, and rules is MUCH closer to NWN1 than any other game. Again, he makes some good points. I like NWN2 a lot; but I'd agree with a lot of the complaints. Just not as passionately as others. I feel I'm in the same baot as NWN1 as I shared plenty of the complaints others had from that agme (everrest, respawn, random bareels with loot on street)and the like; but they never bothered me as much as it did other people. *shrug* I'm gonna all caps the following: NWN2 IS THE SEQUEL TO NWN1 AND FEELS, ACTS, SOUNDS, AND PLAYS LIKE IT!!!! Ok. Done then.

Eh? From what i remember, Duskwood doesn't have any rock covered caves.. unless I missed something... It has two cave entrances and I can enter/exit them fine..

There is an undo button; but it only undoes the latest additions. I'll try Ctrl-Z. And, yeah, you can see the area; but not the whole thing. Depending what you are looking at; parts of it will 'vanish'/move off screen. I'd like a view like the 'over the top' method ala NWN toolset where you can see the whole area. If that's even possible with the new age toolset.
-
Seriously, does anyone know how to 'undo' things that were added to the module far back? It be very useful. And, a way to view an entire area in the toolset at once as I'd like to be able to judge the 'look' of an area completely.
-
I hate mentioning its name because of the rabidness... but, for you, I will. BG series. 1. PC is an orphan. 2. PC's mother abandoned/died on him; raised by a mentor/father figure in some village/keep. 3. PC is special in some way - Bhaalspawn or Shard Up Butt (actually, near heart, lol). 4. Village/Keep is attacked (thoguh in BG2; it's just the PC targeted; in NWN2; the whole village). 5. PC makes way to big city tm while dealing with assassination atempts. 6. Deals with Big Bad's Underlings as well as other forces. NWN2's PC is basically even more of a Chosen One situation sicne in BG you wer eonyl one of many Bhallspawn. Here, you are the 'only' one who can accomplish anything - stopping th King of Shadows. That's storywise. Gameplay wise it's a 'rip off' of NWN1. Hehe. As it should be consideirng its the sequel.
-
Eh. I'm thinking it's rip off of a certain DEAD game...
-
Hey, I did say the module of his I tried was good. Take a chill pill!
-
I liked the NWN1 module guide. It helped a lot (though of course I have yet to finish a mod, r00fles!). If the NWN2 guidebook EVER comes to town, I'll buy it as well. I'm sure it's useful. The NWN2 toolset seems very cool; but between the camera and the lack of ability to actually view an entire area at once (unless I'm missing a way to do so) is not cool. Not to mention, the annoyance of not being able to undo stuff easily. I'd like to be able to right click on soemthing and then choose 'erase'. Is that so much to ask?
-
I've only tried one of his modules. It was good; but the hype for the others scares me off.. They seem to be so overhyped; I puke at the thought of being one of the masses who play them. They might be good, they might be bad. *shrugs*

"I had her dual-wielding short swords and she was kicking ass." Heh. That's exactly what I did.

The Triangle - Awesome movie. Not much wrong with it thoguh I'm sure science nerds could poke in its scientific logic. I don't care. i like it anyways. Carried by great acting performances from the entire cast, and awesome special effects including one of the best soundtracks. Probably my fvaorite 'unknown' movies ever. Final Destination 3 - Disspaointed crap. I enjoyed tghe first two. This one... not so much.

"Love it when you can't play the game right without having meta-knowledge." Romancing Elanee or not (she rocks!) is not really a 'play the game right' kminda choice. It's an option. There's no way to role-play it 'right. You role-played yoruy character; you turned her off; game goes on. Just like real life. -
"nobody ever told ME i was already in act 2" The game does. There's a big fancy screen for it...
-
Shandra is awesome! One of the best npcs ever! I Shandra!!! "The big thing is that with previous forced partymembers it made sense as to why you needed them around; with her there is no reason whatsoever. It's poor design decision." Weird. This isn't really true. There's quite a few npcs that are force don you when you don't 'need' them. it's part of the game. Everyone of us is likely stuck with at least once we really, really hate.

And, you enjoy every minute of it! -
"$10 says a majority of those are gonna come back." O RLY? I would think people who buy game systems at lanch - espicially one as expensive as the PS3 - would be die hard fans so I doubt they'll be so quick to send them back. your logic here is illogical. What am i missing? Anyways, I'm not surprised. Sony hasn't dominated the console scene for the past two generations by accident, you know.

Then why debate? Nobody claime dit was 'brand new' or 'unique' to this game. Heck, I even brought up games like KOTOR and JE that do the exact same thing. Your illogic is illogic to me. P.S. You 'argued' when you tried to use JRPGs and FF as 'examples' basically saying because they did it (though FO didn't at leats with your example) that it was a-ok for NWN2 to get away with it. Hmm... -
They are when their sole purpose is to get someone to eact to it. I tend to post my opinions for that alreayd. You already admitted that you like to post things just to get a reaction out of me! And, it works!

LOL You agree it's stupid yet you were arguing against me about it. LOL Who's the troll, again? R00fles! P.S. Obviously, I'm enjoying the game just fine with it; but it sure does hurt the game (imo). It's unneeded, and is an exmaple of poor writing. -
"I think NWN:II was based on Kot0R... " No. NWN2 is based on NWN1. KOTOR series ia 'rip off' of NWN (though, honestly, it's kinda ahrd to rip off your own games, R00fles!). NWN2 has the most in common with NWN and it acts, looks (though better graphically), feels, and plays like it!!!" Really? This is torlling? My last post with the s'houting' only came in repsonse after Lare's multiple one liners meant vto goad me into replying hence why SHE *is* the troll.

Why are you? Oh, I know why. We've had this discussion already - you seem to be attracted to me,a nd my posts. R00fles! P.S. Sharing one's opinion is NOT trolling. Nice try though.

Volourn's Wowwy Journey With NWN2:Spoiler Edition
Volourn replied to Volourn's topic in Computer and Console
JRPGs area whole different type of RPG than the kind were discussing. Why do yout hink people around here rag on them? It's because they' re too controlling, and there's not much actual role-playing. I like them A LOT; but not for the role-playing aspects. And, Smiley is a very poor exmaple since he's not really a part of your party. You can CHOOSE to help him to safety. It's oen thing to CHOOSE to ahve some in your party to complate a quest or soemthing; it's another for it be forced. All you have to do is look how yopu get the very first permenant NPC named Khaergar in NWN2. You spot him fighting some thigs. You can choose to help him, help, or ignore it yet NO MATTER WHAT YOU CHOOSE; he ends up joining you anyways. That is BEYOND lame! It's illogical, retarded, and a waste of dialogue. R00fles!     -
"no its not, it's exactly like kotor." O RLY? It plays like NWN1, and like the fellow mentioned above since KOTOR is nothing but a NWN wannabe of course NWN also plays 'similiar' to KOTOR. It still is much closer aligned with NWN. KOTOR series is OVERRATED. NWN series is UNDDERRATED. DEATH TO KOTOR! LIFE TO NWN!!!!!!!!
