What's funny is that Europeans are the absolute Masters of Invasion & Conquering. NA is one of their 'successes' and even that they screwed. Africa, sadly, is one of their failures.

G3 is a fun game. Best of the series. However, eventually, it drags too much after you get the umpteenth town and kill the billionth wolf or boar or whatever.

"What's to stop some white supremacist from refusing to treat black people because he believes they are "tarred with the sin of Cain" or whatever?" Well.. last I checked, racism used as an excuse for refusal of services is illegal in the US so if they were to admit they withheld medical services due to someone being black, they'd get into a lot of trouble legally, anyways. Anyways, I'm prone to say that dcotors shouldn't refuse services to anyone if they choose to work in a public hospital (though, I guess, US hospitals aren't really public). But, I can understand doctors refusing to perform certain things (abortions which is alrerady a touch moral issue no matter which side you are one) is the biggest example of this. The best bet to make everyone happy is for stuff like this to be made known before a situation arises so doctor should let their specific hospital know what they will or will not do when hired (so the hospital cna make the decision to hire them or not). -
If EA is so horrible, and their games supposedly suck why do people still buy their games? *shrug*

"Volo, explain how JE's mostly formulaic, cliched and uninspired writing can match Kotor 2 or hell, even Kotor 1?" No need to do so again when you already came to such a 'final' 'factual' conclusion. KOTOR1+2 wiritng is oevrrated. The fact people in this thgread are claiming that characters such as Hanharr, Bao-Dur, Atton, Carth, etc. are excellently written characters is all I need to know to know that JE writing and characters > KOTOR series characters. P.S. Jade Empire is NOT China. It was never intended to be China. No more than FR is intended to be Europe of the Dark Ages. A HUGE mistake made by a lot of non believers who use illogical fallices that don't make sense to try to justify disliking the settings. -
Except if you think the US gov't foreign policy will change so dramatically depending which is voted into office, you are sadly mistaken. And, oh, just to let you know... the US President unlike actual dictators doesn't have full control of anything. Your personal attacks side, you should that.

"You? From the mountains of Caucasus in southern Russia? Or do you mean you are white?" HAHA! I'll let you decide. "That's what it looks like to me. Personally I have no doubts at all the Georgians committed atrocities, because I know some sources that were there during the beginning of the war." I was commenting on the video since that was what youw ere sharing. the video isn't evidence of anything really. Just not clear enough. Also, I'll point it out again - I have no doubt Georgia has commited some horrible stuff - just like Russia has. I have neevr claimed Georgia was innocent. L0L @ atrocities - a word that has lost a lot of its meaning over the years over misuse and overuse. "The restaurant cook burned by burger! What an atrocity!" - random eater. "Is that aimed at my Politkoskaya comment? She was not arrested by anyone. The thing yesterday, those guys are only Russian police on paper." There is a reason why Russia has a weak 'free press' if they have one at all. Putin, and his ilk would never allow the press to write what has been written in the US (and in other Western countries) about their respective leaders. These last two happenings are only being aired because Russia is in such focus currently. I have no doubt these types of 'accidents' happen all the time without the Western media picking it up, because Russia-Georgia is in the newest 'crisis' (another word that has been used, and abused over the years).

"Georgian soldiers driving through Tskhinvalli and shooting at things. From the way it looks to me no one is actually fighting them. But they seem to have a good time killing things non the less. " There is no way to tell either way what's going on relaly in that video. All we see are tnaks going down the street with shots being fired. There is no way, again, to tell where all the shots coming from and if it's just one way like you (of course) assume it is. "Who are all shallow and vengeful, anything they perceive as an insult is more than enough to get you gutted. I don't believe the Kremlin directly because quiet honestly they piss on the opinion of small opposition press with negligible influence within Russia." Must explain all the reporters that get 'murdered' when they get arrested because of 'accidental' gun fire from the 'expert' Russian police. L0L "another fine Caucasian tradition" 1. Sound slike a bigotry comment to me. 2. I'm Caucasian myself, and I have never committed msyelf to a 'blood feud' nor have I know anyone to do so. Not much of a Caucasian tradition, I guess. *shrug*

"Bioware games not rushed? Did you guys play the last part of Jade Empire? It was so bad it made ME rush through the game!" You disliking the ending (and, you are right, it is combat heavy) has nothing to do with it being 'rushed'. End of KOTOR was mostly combat as was ME, NWN OC, SOU, BG1, TOSC, and TOB. BG2 was posisbly the only exception to this. "Why do people answer Volo again? It's not like he's going to change opinion, what with all the "ME>KotOR" posts." Eh? It's no different than all the KOTOR > JE posts. I just get to the point. *shrug* "I have yet to play JE, but I might give it a try if the writing is as good as you say, anyone else share volos opinion on this?" Obsidian baords here. Yiua ren't gonna find anyone to amdit that JE's writing is as good as KOTOR let alone KOTOR2. They'd be wrong in that opinion, unfortunately, but it's their opinion. -

"ahh, you're just trolling Volo is right on rushing thing" Actually, you are trolling. I stated my opinion. Not my fault you cna't accept opinions other than your own. The KOTORs areoverrated - espicially their writing. And, that's doubly so for KOTOR2 on these forums. -
In other news, Russian citizens that wrote negative things about Russia... were murdered by Russia.... Anyone surprised? P.S. Nobody is claiming Georgia is super innocent; but Russia is not some super hero who came in to 'save the day'. L0L

One can hate on BIO because they dislike their games (men to them for the hate); but to claim BIO rushes their games is beyond funny. P.s. JE > KOTOR 1+ 2 "I think he is referring just to the first KotOR. Otherwise he would state KotOR2." Actually, if you read my earlier posts, I said both KOTORs. I find thats eries overrated. Fun, decent games; but that's it. -
"Even wronger. Where, ever, has a four person party been 'typical?'" Considiring pre amde campaigns are balanced usually for 4 players (sometimes 4-6); 4 is definitely the stereotypical party. Why do people think 'fighter-cleric-theif-mage' as your typical aprty? And, yeah, we all have variant party numbers. If anything it just proves that Dark Raven was silly when demanding 'six'. I stand by my statement that a party of 4 is typical. That doesn't mean it's the only number used. P.S. The date you started playing doesn't impress me one iota.
-
Wrong. It seems to have worked out in D&D for decades with parties of 4 being the typical. Though, parties as much as 6 is fine and dandy as is a party of 2-3.

You can't win JE with just one button. That's plainly impossible. P.S. I beat athe IE games, and the FOs with just left clicking my mouse. L0L -
"I stand corrected. Though personally I would rather add to the OC than try to create something from scratch - it seems less daunting? I guess the modders are braver souls than I." Well, I guess it's a matter of perspective actually (despite my 'rant' above). "Currently running through the OC (chapter 2) and adding on would be a big mistake. Streamlining/editing/removing content is more like it." I could see me doing both. For starters, I'd remove the teleport stone, respawning, and go with the actual NWN default death rules and not the OC rules. I'd add the ability to have 3 npcs in the group as well.

"Credit where credit is due. I am the first one to bitch and complain about the combat system in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic series, but I have to congratulate Obsidian for dramatically improving the options/challenges in the sequel" Both KOTOR game shad crappy combat. They both were dumbed down wannabe NWN combat. Even the addittion of 'jedi styles' in KOTOR2 ended up being flatlined. "i definitely preferred it to the boring buttonmash that was the combat in jade empire" JE > KOTOR in every way espicially and including combat. As for 'button smashing'... buttons mashing in JE gets you killed quick...but, hey, I'd rather 'button smash' then watch the computer fight for me, and win easy fights. Like I said, dumbed down NWN combat. -
"In NWN, the toolset enabled them to create their own adventures from scratch, but I gather it was difficult to modify the OC (there was nothing like WeiDU to allow lots of mods to work together)" Um... actually, it was easy to mod the OC. It was as easy to mod/edit as any NWN module. And, mods were added to it included the improved AI, making combat more challenging, extended henchmen help, and what not. It just seems like a waste of tiem to mod the OC when inspiring modders can just flat out create their own stuff. But, it had nothing to do with engine/toolset limitations - just modder choice. Why would you as SteveThaiBinh the Inspiring Modder bother to mod someone else's work when you can actually work on SteveThaiBinh's Mod?!?! Like i said above, however, the OC was modded.

"again it is almost exactly like the module" Except the module itself explicitly tells DMs to tailer said module to their audience/players. I remmeber this because I bugged Troika quite a bit about stuff like this pre release. L0L And, I was laughed off with 'Don't worry, we added soem cool stuff!" "Now you could argue they should have patched/fixed it anyway." Nah. I don't blame Troika for that. Atari was the publisher so that's their call. From Atari's point of view the benefits of a patch just wasn't worth it cost wise. What's sad is that as Grom pointed out, Atari was EXCITED about TOEE's potential - so much so they were pumped up for sequels/expansions. Troika let Atari down. "Tell me Volo...in what other industry could even one out of 100 products failing for people it was promised to work be acceptable? That's a fiasco. And you're willing to concede that 1 out of 20 might have failed? That's a disaster. Thanks for making my point. So next time you want to flame people with personal insults, you might want to do a little simple math before you post. Or do you like undercutting everything you say?" Wrong. i was asking about your numbers. You say 'many' but that means nothing. Again, define 'many'. And, don't emabrass yourself, again. Thanks. Nor did I 'persoanlly flame' you. -
Fun. P.S. The voice acting for Aribeth was plaina nd simply awesome. Undisputable.

"Yes Volo, but MEPC already has "fiasco" written on it to many gamers." Define 'many'? Less than 1%? 2%? 5%? ME is a hit, and many gamers played it and enjoyed just fine. R00fles! You, and a handful of malcontents don't constitute all that 'many'. L0L Just like I cna be honest and say even though I loathed MW, most gamers who played it enjoyed it just fine. My opinion means crap on it.
